If you're trying to find Creature Enamel in Subnautica 2, you'll need to venture into the alien biome to the east of the hot-water area. A Tadpole makes the trip much easier, and it's highly recommended that you bring enough materials to make a simple base with a Scanner Station. That facility makes farming Creature Enamel in Subnautica 2 very simple.

Blue-green glob nodes with protruding cylinders |
Enameled Glass |
The fastest way to get Creature Enamel is to go to the alien biome east of the Collector Leviathan and search south of the Alien Ruins. Look for blue-green glob nodes, use the Sonic Resonator to collect them, then use your Fabricator to turn Creature Enamel into Enameled Glass.
How to Build a Tadpole in Subnautica 2
Here is how to find and scan three Tadpole Fragments to unlock the vehicle’s blueprint and craft it at your base in Subnautica 2.
How to Reach the Creature Enamel Location
Creature Enamel is in the Alien Biome
You get Creature Enamel by using a Sonic Resonator on Enamel Husks, blue-green glob-like nodes with long protruding cylinders. You can find these nodes in the alien biome approximately 1,400m east of the Lifepod. This area is even further east than the hot zone, and you'll enter it after passing through the trench with the Collector Leviathan.
While you can swim to the alien biome, it is highly recommended that you make the trip in a Tadpole, as a vehicle makes survival so much easier. A vehicle is especially useful for getting past the Collector Leviathan, since it can help save you if you're grabbed. Just make sure you've repaired the Tadpole before setting out so the vehicle can survive an attack if you’re caught.
Use the Alien Ruins Waypoint to Find Creature Enamel
You'll find Creature Enamel attached to the rock formations approximately 300m south of the Alien Ruins at a depth of 200m+. You get the waypoint to that facility after using the keycode in the Tadpole Pens, and it's recommended that you get to that point in the story if you want to find Creature Enamel without any facilities.
Best Way to Farm Creature Enamel
Alternatively, you can build a small base in the alien biome, put a Scanner Station in it, and use that facility to pinpoint Creature Enamel nodes. This method is much easier than attempting to find the material through exploration alone, as it allows you to zero in on the exact positions of any Creature Enamel in the area. If you've never used a Scanner Station before, check our guide on how to track resources.
The base you build in the alien biome doesn't need to be anything more than a single powered room with a Scanner Station. I'd recommend that you build the base near one of the area's many currents, so that you can power it with Hydroelectric Turbines, and you can find all the materials you need at the start of the biome. However, if you want to come fully prepared, bring at least these materials with you:
- 14 Titanium
- 1 Quartz
- 4 Copper
- 3 Silver
- 1 System Chip
- 1 Wiring Kit
With those materials, you can build a Room, Hatch, Hydroelectric Turbine, Power Transmitter, Beacon, and Scanner Station. You can also use the Scanner Station you establish to find Celestine locations, as that material comes from this area as well.
What Is Creature Enamel Used For?
Creature Enamel is used to make:
- Enameled Glass
Enameled Glass is used to upgrade your vehicle at the Modification Station. This makes Creature Enamel important for vehicle upgrades and deeper exploration.
Creature Enamel Farming Tips
- Use a vehicle with high durability and power to reach the alien biome.
- Bring your Habitat Builder, Titanium, Quartz, Copper, Silver, a System Chip, and a Wiring Kit so you can set up a simple base with a Scanner Station.
- Affix a Portable Locker to your Tadpole for added storage.
- If you aren't going to build vehicle facilities at your small base, bring an extra Power Cell for your Tadpole with you.
