White Mask is a Helm in Elden Ring. White Mask is part of the War Surgeon Set, and is a lightweight helm that strikes a good balance between Physical and Magical defense. White Mask protect the player's head by applying various defensive properties, it also changes the appearance when it is equipped. Some armor pieces may be available to both genders but may be slightly different for male and female characters.
There is a lock-out condition for the acquisition of this item. See the tips below for the details.
Bloodstained, faintly grinning mask.
Worn by war surgeons who were effectively mercy killers.
The Lord of Blood's curse enlivens the wearer when bloodletting occurs. Slightly raises attack power when there is blood loss nearby.
Where to find White Mask in Elden Ring
The White Mask Helm can be found at:
- Dropped by killing one of the three Nameless White Mask NPC invaders in the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum area, northwest of the Palace Approach Ledge-Road site of grace, in the blood-filled lake. Anonymous2 things.
1. One of my favorite past times in ER is massacring red albinaurics with the one handed R2 to give them a taste of their own red spinny death medicine.
2. The sound this makes on the non spinny R1’s is the sound the Greatsword should make.
AnonymousDo people think white mask is meta? It’s not if your looking for meta helmets look at bird helm, lion head, and circlet of light.

AnonymousSome of you guys would not have survived DS1. Every build in that game had to wear Mask of the Mother or it'd be garbage.

AnonymousThese guys are so adorable. They'll get parried 5 times in a row and think using Corpse Piler a 6th time will be different.
I can't help but imagine the person using this is wearing a multicolored propeller hat and holding an oversized lollipop
AnonymousIt's internet multiplayer in the current year, of course people will use meta strategies to suck all the fun out but you should strive to have fun in spite of that. No one should be getting this mad over pixels on a screen and if they are then please take a break, have a sandwich and sip some water.
Also the mask looks ugly so I never use it even in PvE, I just slot Lord of Blood's Exultation.
Anonymousthis might be the most angry comment section ive seen on a wiki page

AnonymousWhy are white mask wearers always the most insufferable people in this game? This isn't a dig at the item itself, it's just simply become a very widespread stereotype and I'm hoping someone could shed some light on this topic

AnonymousCan anyone give me this mask? I'm willing to trade some runes, crafting materials, or consumables for it. I just switched to an arcane build with a lot of bleed weapons, but I already killed Mohg, so I can't get it. My IGN is: Lord Gwyn

AnonymousThey should have made this look like the Hunters cap from bloodborne so it looks like a bloodborne build instead of a killer from a cheesy slasher movie.

AnonymousPros:
- +6% more damage for 20 seconds upon bleed proc (absolutely astonishing)
- You get to join the herd as a sheep, just as Varre intended
- You are given a free victim card
Cons:
- A very negative stereotype
- Horrendous fashion. Like seriously wtf is this
- A detriment to your intelligence
- Your controller is now bound to two buttons
- Pretty bad defensive stats for its weight
- Your weapon choice is limited to RoB, dual curved swords, or dual twinblades
- Forced to use a summon for every boss fight and then complain that the game is too easy
- You are permanently stuck with a friend who either has the exact same build or is an int build with 15 vigor and only has comet
- The inability to learn
- An extremely weak mental
- The sudden urge to jump and/or L2 nonstop
- You are stuck with the mindset that you believe you are always right no matter what
- The need to quit everything the moment something slightly inconvenient happens
AnonymousLet me tell you son, this mask may not look great. But sometimes a bleed build gotta get their numbers up. I personally wear the bandit mask, but if a tryhard invades while I'm helping someone, the white mask ensures a 6% more. Which is not a lot. But stacked with other boosts like prosthesys, lord of blood's, sacred flesh etc, that little white mask might make sense in these tiring "one shot or get one shot" times. Of course after combo'ing their ass back to where they belong, I'll do the calm down emote, and switch back to the bandit mask. Moral of the story: Gid gud, son.
Long live the dynasty, with love!!!
AnonymousBased on community sentiment, this is obviously the best looking mask in the game. What are you, casul? Are you cool yet? If you hate this mask because "muh fashion" or "ew number crunching" then sit the **** down, because you are a sheep in a flock of sheep, little lambkin, ripe for slaughtering. It's time to ****ign pwn some maidenless n00bz.

AnonymousI could swear it was a 20% increase ... either they shadownerfed it when I wasn't looking -admittedly it's been a while since I ran with my bleed based "Vladdy D. Addy" build, so that could be; or, I may be outright misremembering, possibly mistaking it for the Lord of Blood's Exultation (except the problem with that is I think they used to be the same effect and can stack, could be mistaken). P.S don't ask about the build name, it was a dare, I was drunk; not my proudest moment, but 50$ is 50$.

Anonymousi needed something likte this and i cant get it anymore, quiting the game..

Anonymousi kill him, then i died from the bird attack.
i didnt get the mask, and when i come to the location the invader is no longer available. how to get this in any other way?
I had to install the armor transmog mod for my bleed build run. Can't run around without fashion

AnonymousGotta be a real loser in real life to ditch fashion and wear ugly hats for special effects. Glad Nightreign doesn't feature this rubbish.

AnonymousI hate how if I want to do a bleed build I pretty much have to use this or im purposely gimping myself. It's too bad Elden Ring doesn't have a hide helmet option.

Anonymousits not that its ugly, its that i cant remove the headwraps. if i could just have a cool mask then i could work with that, but being stuck with the mohg hijab makes it always terrible to fit into fashion.

AnonymousAfter dying to several white-mask bloodflame katana gankers in a row, I had to double-check... that passive effect is more insane than I remember. My bad for adopting a Grim Reaper cosplay bleed build! I might have to keep this in my back pocket for when I detect that I'm not invading actual co-opers...
At this point it feels like a third of my invading toolkit has the "only use this if they use it" label (uplifting aromatic, starlight shards etc)
AnonymousThe item description and the way in which you get it has the amusing implication that either war surgeons flock to Mohg's dynasty en masse lemming instinct style, or that Mohg is just the patron saint of surgery for some reason

Anonymous
AnonymousThe only time I wear this, is when I'm dealing with trash mobs in PvE.
Anything else is strictly fashion souls.
AnonymousWait, if the guy is a white mask, then this is a white mask mask.

Anonymousstuck on fraudahn, considering bleed build only to find out that "Killing Mohg, Lord of Blood will lock you out of obtaining this set." cool

AnonymousToo ugly. The mask is too big, it makes the head looks weird.

Anonymous
Anonymous
AnonymousI do like this ability, but it being slapped on every bleed build makes it really common and boring. If I had to nerf it, I'd have it give you a damage vulnerability like the guardian garb (full bloom), or else cause you to take a small amount of bleed build-up on every swing to add a risk/reward factor.

The "don't tell me how to play the game you elitist" mask, worn by the people who are mechanically unable to generate a build by themselves and just rely on youtube and reddit

If I get summoned to help someone and they're rocking this+Veteran/Bull-Goat, I already know it'll be a swift bonk back to my world as we enter the fog door

Anonymousmust have suck that your favorite build have such ugly headwears. sorry not sorry, arckeks

AnonymousAsking people who wear this head piece regardless of what build they use: what's wrong with you?

AnonymousNevermind about that being locked out of getting it after beating varre, it's actually the invader directly west next to the tree by the south edge of the cliff, not the one to the northwest by the bird.

AnonymousIt's not mohg that you have to avoid killing, it's varre in his quest. I was trying to beat mohg and figured this would help, but it didn't drop from the invader slightly northwest of the palace approach ledge-road site of grace. I have varre's bouquet, but am locked out of the mask

Anonymous
AnonymousAm I the only one that rushes mohg to get dlc access and couldn’t care less about this?

AnonymousOn playthroughs I always forget to get this before beating Mohg, for some reason I think Varre gives it to us. I just did it again, trying a playthrough to see how early in the game I can get to the DLC and doh!

AnonymousI wasn't doing a bleed build for a while and wanted to go back to it. I have the war surgeon set but the mask is missing. Pls help

Anonymous
AnonymousWearing this with light sets that match with it like ansbach's, confessor etc is such a goated drip for assassin/arcane characters. Cold as hell

Anonymous
AnonymousI don't use it because I like Ansbach's helm more. You don't use it because it's ****in' ugly.
We are not the same.
AnonymousI hope in the next game the head piece that gives damage boost from blood loss occurring will be a clown mask or something

AnonymousImagine sacrificing your head slot for something so awful looking. My bleed build will outtrade yours any day you wear this over something with an actual poise value.

AnonymousI like its design. Still much better than helmets with f... feathers or other silly things making u lookin like a damn common knight wihich u arent. The masks make u looking more ruthless.

AnonymousPlease stop saying you dislike the thing I use to numerically optimize my damage output in a video game. This sort of behavior make me feel insecure and angry beyond reason, proving that you are a child. Everyone has to respect me and my decisions, no matter how insignificant they are. No, especially if they are insignificant. Validate me on an anonymous website or you will face my impotent rage.

AnonymousI saw one guy using this mask and Mohg's fork in the Great Jar chalenge. That demon was probably using lord o blood's exultation, the weapon may be at max upgrade... he killed me just spamming NIHIL. I was exploding in blood, being staggered, exploded again, using red juice, exploding again until I died. That was not funny, how can a man be able to feel good playing with that build? Imagine it against a bleeding immune enemy. Terrible elden lord he would be.

AnonymousHow can it be so powerful? Stack it with dryleaf dane footjob with blood affinity and exultation talisman. It's OBSCENE

AnonymousTry it with the Confessor Armor, Black Knife Gauntlets, Greaves of Solitude, and Wolf Crest Shield. Looks great and has decent damage negation and 52 poise.

Anonymous
Anonymous
AnonymousWith the release of the Ansbach set, bleed builds finally have a choice: wear the full thing to look like Darth Vader, or swap in the White Mask to look like Emperor Palpatine. I'm going with the latter, leveling Faith, and equipping Frozen Lightning Spear for UNLIMITED POWAH!!!

Anonymous
Anonymouskilled mohg before i knew this existed, think i might lie on the floor for a bit

Anonymous
AnonymousPretty cool, but i like to wear the bandit mask on my blood rogue. would be much cooler if there was a pair of gloves with the same effect (obviously the 2 wouldn't stack)...

Anonymous
AnonymousIf only this didnt have that cloth, or the zamor's such a long neck, i'll have to make my sir ma build maskless

Anonymous
AnonymousI love and hate this mask at the same time. It's the ugliest piece of garbage ever conceived. It goes with 3 armours: Marais, Godskin Noble, War Surgeon – and naked. I f**king love Varré so I love seeing people wear this glimpsing the other Tarnished. If I hated Varré this mask would be my nightmare because the buff is still good, but you're essentially forced to wear it and it's very ugly. Personally I'm all arcane and having a blast spreading bleed and cessblood everywhere I go. Love this mask, love the surgeon set, love arcane, love exultation, love Mohg <3 BLEED MORE

Anonymous
AnonymousI really like the mask but that hood is too bland and has almost no good matchups aside from the original set because of that dirty white color (and even less if you want a high poise set that looks good). I wish you could clip out the hood and have a mask only, it would go so hard with some hairstyles. My suggestion is trying it with beast champion set, unaltered banished knight set or divine beast warrior set, these seem to be good matchups for it. Or throwing it out cuz bleed builds are already good enough, if the target can bleed most of the time that 10% bonus is an overkill and you can sacrifice it for better drip

AnonymousI did not actually know the masks change shape to fit your face until me and my friend used it on our character with a ****ed up head. Highly recommend if you're doing an arc build and you character happens to look like clone wars count dooku

Anonymous
AnonymousThe only original fashion that I can like is an altered Perumer Robe, nox bracelets, and any boots for a cult leader or corrupt cleric look. Matches really well with Black Steel TwinbladeAlmost reminds me of the corrupted monk boss from sekiro. The thing that makes this look bad with almost all sets is that not only can the cloth part not contrast poorly with its weird shade of off-white, but the mask also can cause contrast with any hard armor parts.

Anonymous
AnonymousAdding my fashion suggestions since this is a good item that is notoriously difficult to accessorize. The trick is to find mixes of armor with white accents and other fabric components that complement the White Mask. It also helps to find armor that doesn't clip the hood into an awkward tight cap. Here are some of my favorites:
- Lazuli Robe
- Scaled Armor
- Vagabond Knight Armor (altered)
- Confessor Armor (the white logo on the cape makes it)
- Banished Knight Armor (the rare unaltered version that you have to farm)
- Death Knight Armor (the full set is too dark, but try it with the High Priest Undergarments)
Anonymous
AnonymousHe called me maidenless so I killed him and got no masker lol

Anonymous
AnonymousNot me doing the entire questline for the mask and finding out that doing the questline makes him not drop the mask

AnonymousI hate the way that you walk, the way that you talk, I hate the way that you dress

AnonymousAbsolutely amazing for PvE. Apparently it gets a negative reaction or is an old meme or something in PvP, but I will never know anything about that.

Anonymous
Anonymousmiasaki has a vienna sasuage that he likes to play with instead of fixing his garbo game

Anonymous
AnonymousStory time: I still remember the cancer squad with this and RoB / Dual Naginata. I decided to have some fun and fish for point downs in arenas while rocking this old school trash build.
Needless the say, I got a lot of hate. It's good to see that the community is stil united under the hate of this thing.
Just severer out the session if you see the host wearing this without the full set, since they're most likely to spam and die in the first 30 secs of the fight anyway

AnonymousWhite Mask >>>>>>>>> albinauric & omenkiller masks
The most scum invaders I've blocked are all omenkiller Mask nolifers lol.
AnonymousVery good looking with light sets, as shown by Varré. The boost is the icing on the cake.

Anonymousthe fact we cant alter the helmet to remove the cloth and just leave us with a sick white mask is criminal.

AnonymousThis mask with the War Surgeon set is acceptable and even fashionable
Anything else, you end up reeking of try-hard
AnonymousIdk why yall still asking what armor is best looking with this, literally lord of blood's robe. Looks good and makes sense

Anonymous
AnonymousWhen you get summoned for co-op by someone wearing this you know 100% of the time they're gonna die the first time the boss attacks them.

Anonymous
AnonymousFor the non-spastic PvE enjoyers - as of the DLC this mask goes pretty hard with Armor of the Night (cool contrast).

AnonymousSaw not even one decent human with this, all gankers, ROb users, with bad connection and teabagging

AnonymousAt this point I just use finger severer when the host summoning me uses this. Most of the time they don't even participate in the battle, just hovering around in the background until they got oneshot by some AoE. Can someone explain to me why the people who needs to get carried so hard insist on making fragile meta builds they don't even utilize? Dude just make a tanky faith build if you need others to kill the boss for you
