Melee Shapechanger is an Action in Baldur's Gate 3. Shapechanger is an action that all Transmutation School Wizards earn at level 10. Definitely not a combat option except as a last ditch retreat when you don't have fly. Useful for easy exploration and positioning before combat though

...5 turns, concentration spell, limited only to transmutation wizards at level 10 (i.e. - the end of the game). What idiot designed this? You literally get flying much earlier in the game as a spell that lasts twice this long. Turning into a bird is neat, but it limits your spellcasting, doesn't offer any real health to make up for it and it doesn't last as long so you have to keep your eye on it. Seriously... this is utterly worthless. Its only perk besides flair is that it's a class action instead of taking up a spell slot, which isn't much to write home about.

No limit to how many times you can transform. 5 turn duration good mobility skill
absolute cringe that they only give you the bluejay option. Not even any other animal option? Its not like Im asking for wildshape but for wizard but this is a pretty lame downscale of the original ability :/
