Trish Gerlitz liked thisTrish Gerlitz liked thisToday I turned the page to the most important chapter of my personal and professional journey: motherhood. No, baby’s not here yet! But I’ve officially begun maternity leave. I’m sure I’ll share more reflections later about matrescence and balancing parenthood and work. For now, this post is about appreciation for my new employer. Many of you know I started at SonderMind on January 5. What you didn’t know is that my relationship with this team began last summer, just days after I found out I was pregnant. That opportunity didn’t pan out at the time, but they came back in the fall… when I was already halfway through my pregnancy. And they fully knew it. Recruiting someone who’s pregnant shouldn’t be a big deal. And yet, it often is. My team knew I’d be on leave within three months of starting. It didn’t matter. They believed I could build relationships and make an impact quickly—and that I was worth the investment. And they’ve backed that up every step of the way. Yes, the family-friendly benefits are incredible (16 weeks fully paid parental leave starting day one?! Come onnn.). But what’s mattered most is how my team has shown up: encouraging rest when pregnancy insomnia hit hard, scheduling around afternoon walks so my back and pelvis could survive the workday, accommodating my many doctor and chiropractor appointments without hesitation. Even today: I wasn’t planning to start leave until next week, but my body said otherwise. My transition plan wasn’t perfect. My manager, Will Ferguson, simply said: “I got this. You go.” These may seem like small things. They’re not. How leaders show up during the pivotal moments in someone’s life shapes how that person shows up every day after. There’s no single formula for employee engagement. Compensation matters. Meaningful work matters. Connection and belonging matter. But so do these moments. So I’ll leave you with a question: How are you showing up for your people?

Trish Gerlitz liked thisTrish Gerlitz liked thisWhen I was growing up, I worked for my dad’s landscaping business. We’d take empty lots and turn them into outdoor spaces families could enjoy together. Waterfalls. Winding rivers snaking under stone pathways. Most of it was done by hand, though I did love operating the Bobcat. Plans were sketched on paper. If something was unclear, you drove to the site and figured it out. It was creative work. Physical work. Rewarding. And very manual. That’s part of why I’m excited to be joining Twindo as an interim CPTO. Twindo is building a spatial intelligence platform that helps architects, contractors, and field teams collaborate virtually across the lifecycle of a project. Using 3D modeling and computer vision, teams can capture and align real-world conditions to track progress and make decisions with confidence. The mission resonates with me, and I'm looking forward to collaborating with the team in this next chapter.

No optimiza. No genera rendimiento.

I'll let you in on a secret. Most L&D teams are hemorrhaging top talent before they even start because their onboarding is a mind-numbing checklist of paperwork and boring PowerPoints. → The real cost? Up to $25,000 per lost employee and countless hours of wasted potential. Your new hires are craving an experience that makes them feel valued, equipped, and excited about their role. They want immersive learning that speaks their language—interactive, personalized, and meaningful. Here's how high-performing organizations are rebuilding onboarding from the ground up: By creating experiences that engage, not just inform. Think bite-sized learning modules, AI-powered role play scenarios, and virtual environments that turn first-day jitters into first-week momentum. The data is crystal clear: Companies with strong onboarding improve new hire retention by 82% and productivity by 70%. But traditional approaches? They're leaving massive performance gaps wide open. Get the 5-step immersive onboarding framework that top L&D teams are using to win talent

Only 22% of employees get the right amount of recognition. The other 78%? They're quietly watching for their next opportunity. Most HR teams know recognition matters. But here's what separates programs that work from expensive initiatives nobody uses: Measurement. Here is a comprehensive guide to the 25 employee recognition metrics that actually move the needle on retention, engagement, and ROI. Inside, you'll find: ▪ The 5 participation metrics that predict whether your program will survive past year one ▪ How to measure recognition equity and catch systematic gaps before they become retention risks ▪ The turnover comparison that proves whether recognition is saving you money or just burning budget ▪ Why "great job!" recognition is functionally useless (and what specificity scores reveal instead) ▪ A phased implementation approach so you're not drowning in dashboards The research is clear: organizations that measure recognition strategically see 24-31% lower turnover, 17% higher productivity, and $16M+ annual savings at scale. But only if you track what matters. Recognition without metrics is hope. Recognition with the right KPIs is strategy. Hiring fast is risky. But slowing down? That might be riskier. HR leaders know the tightrope: move too fast and you might slip on compliance. Move too slow and top talent slips away. But what if there’s a smarter way to grow without exposing your business to unnecessary risk? The secret? It starts with workforce development strategies that do more than just train. Based on SHRM’s 2025 Recruiting Executives Benchmarking report, we pulled the key numbers worth tracking—and the ones worth sanity-checking inside your own hiring system. Here’s what the data points to: - High-volume hiring has become cheaper and more controllable - Managerial hiring has become noticeably more expensive—and riskier - Speed has mostly leveled out, but it’s often purchased with higher spend - The biggest blind spot remains quality of hire (because most teams still don’t define or measure it well) If your recruiting KPIs are only “fast” and “a lot,” you can absolutely get more efficient. But that doesn’t automatically mean you’re getting better.

Today’s HR signal is strategic caution, not chaos. CEOs are signaling a low-hire, low-fire market in 2026 while AI continues to shape workforce narratives. Leaders must anchor their talent strategy in capability, not headcount; govern AI with clarity; elevate HR as a strategic partner; and double down on human experience as a competitive advantage. The future of work is being designed, not discovered. THE HR LANDSCAPE — TODAY’S SIGNALS C-suite sentiment signals a “low-hire, low-fire” labor market. The latest Conference Board survey finds most CEOs are not planning workforce expansion in 2026, citing economic uncertainty and AI as factors shaping cautious hiring, although layoffs remain contained due to talent scarcity and relatively strong sales. AI narratives are influencing workforce decisions, and scrutiny is rising. OpenAI’s CEO suggests some companies may be using “AI-washing” as a convenient rationale for restructuring rather than real automation displacement, underscoring the need for leaders to separate rhetoric from real strategic change. Role redesign and skill signals are emerging. HR hiring trends show AI-related competencies and strategic HR specialties gaining traction even as overall HR job openings remain more cautious, reflecting evolving expectations for HR leadership and capability. HR trend intelligence confirms a strategic pivot. Leading analyses reinforce that AI integration, skills-based design, employee experience, and workforce adaptability are the forces reshaping how HR creates and sustains value in 2026. WHAT THIS MEANS FOR LEADERS Workforce planning is back at the strategic table. A low-hire, low-fire market means leaders must optimize for quality of capability over sheer scale, with talent portfolios tied to strategic outcomes. Narrative integrity matters. As AI becomes part of workforce discourse, leaders must avoid superficial claims and ground their decisions in transparent, measurable strategy lest trust erodes across employees and stakeholders. HR leadership must evolve beyond traditional execution to strategic design. With roles and skill requirements shifting, HR must co-draft workforce architecture with business strategy, not merely respond to it. Employee experience and resilience are competitive chips. Stable labor markets and talent scarcity make engagement, development, and psychological safety differentiators in retaining and activating key contributors. LEADERSHIP TAKEAWAYS ✔ Treat talent strategy as enterprise strategy. ✔ Anchor AI adoption in measurable performance outcomes. ✔ Elevate HR roles that bring strategic insight and capability planning. ✔ Build experience ecosystems that sustain retention. ✔ Skill signals define advancement pathways. EXECUTIVE ACTION STEPS 1) Embed Workforce Strategy Into Core Planning Cycles 2) Stand Up a Strategic AI Governance Framework 3) Expand HR Leadership Influence 4) Strengthen Experience-Based Metrics 5) Invest in Skills-Forward Mobility Engines
