Beverly Coleman reposted thisBeverly Coleman reposted thisWe were honored to host our Third Annual CME Conference this past weekend, uniting clinicians focused on advancing gastrointestinal and liver clinical care. Guided by the exceptional leadership of our Course Directors, Dr. Colin Brown and Dr. Jai Mirchandani, this year’s conference fostered impactful education, meaningful collaboration, and continued innovation within GI. A defining highlight of the program was the Dr. Robert J. Gialanella Keynote Symposium, established in honor of Dr. Robert J. Gialanella, Founding President of Allied Digestive Health. Naming this keynote in his honor reflects his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to clinical excellence. His dedication to building a collaborative, physician-led, patient-centered organization continues to shape our mission and inspire providers across our network. We extend our sincere gratitude to our esteemed speakers for their expertise and forward-looking perspectives, and to all who attended and contributed to making this year’s conference such a meaningful and successful event. They quit toxic cultures. Retention isn’t won with perks; it’s earned through purpose, respect, and trust. No one walks away from a place that truly sees them, invests in them, and helps them grow. Beverly Coleman reposted thisBeverly Coleman reposted thisIn many business meetings, it becomes far too easy to expect everyone to simply say “yes” and move on. On the surface, this creates the appearance of alignment, but in reality, it often shuts down real ideas before they even have a chance to be discussed. When people feel that being outspoken or asking questions goes against the grain, they naturally hold back. Over time, this creates an environment where the loudest voice—or the one in charge—sets the direction, while valuable insights from the rest of the team are never heard. A healthy organization depends on more than agreement; it depends on dialogue. Saying “yes” may keep meetings short, but it rarely drives growth. Asking questions, challenging assumptions, and offering alternative perspectives are what prevent blind spots and allow the team to reach stronger decisions. Leaders who truly want progress need to create space for those conversations, even when they’re uncomfortable. Otherwise, a culture of “yes” quickly becomes a culture of missed opportunities.

Beverly Coleman shared thisWell said…Beverly Coleman shared thisThe modern HR role is broken. Here's the reality: Your HR is expected to be: - A therapist (without the training) - A data scientist (without the tools) - A legal expert (without the law degree) - A culture builder (without the authority) - A strategic partner (without the seat at the table) The real problem isn't their capability. It's that we've built HR departments to be corporate band-aids instead of strategic powerhouses. Think about it: When budgets get cut, they're first When crisis hits, they're first When blame flows, they're first Yet when success happens, they're last The solution isn't another HR tool or certification. It's fundamentally rebuilding HR's role from: - Tactical to Strategic - Reactive to Proactive - Cost Center to Value Driver Treating HR as a compliance function is costing you millions in lost talent and opportunities. 5 key actions for CEOs: 1. Split HR into Strategic & Operational teams: Stop burning your strategic talent on operational bottlenecks. 2. Put HR metrics on your board dashboard: When talent data gets the same airtime as financial data, you'll see where the real costs are hiding. 3. Give HR veto power on executive hires: A cultural misfit at the top costs more than a quarter of missed revenue. 4. Make HR your first call on business strategy, not your last: They see patterns in your business before they show up in your numbers. 5. Allocate 30% of HR's budget to future-proofing: Your competitors are already building tomorrow's workforce while you're fixing today's problems. It's time to stop treating HR as a support function. Because great HR isn't just about managing people. It's about building the future of work.

Hudson Regional Health announced it may suspend **non-essential services** at Heights University Hospital in Jersey City unless it receives significant state funding. Despite over $300 million invested in just 10 months, ongoing financial challenges persist. The hospital system, which emerged after CarePoint’s bankruptcy, urges state support to ensure continued care for the community and maintain vital healthcare services. RWJBarnabas Health and Englewood Health signed a definitive agreement under which Englewood Health will become part of RWJBarnabas Health. The transaction aims to expand access to care and enhance services across Bergen, Hudson and Passaic counties, as well as surrounding communities. It remains subject to state and federal regulatory approvals. Englewood Health is one of the state’s leading health care systems. Together, Englewood Hospital and the Englewood Health Physician Network boasts a system of more than 800 office- and hospital-based providers. If approved, it would join RWJBarnabas Health — New Jersey’s largest academic health system. RWJBarnabas includes 14 hospitals, over 45,000 employees and 9,000 affiliated physicians. The agreement will strengthen Englewood Health’s role as a comprehensive health care provider for Bergen County through significant capital investments by RWJBarnabas Health. The partnership is expected to expand outpatient services and community health programs, improve access to care, and bring advanced academic medicine and cancer treatment closer to patients in the region. #rwjbanabas #englewoodhealth #healthsystemsmerger

An important moment of collaboration recently took place at Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall, where appreciation was extended to the Jehovah’s Witness Hospital Liaison Committee and their Patient Visitation Group. Their continued partnership reflects the importance of open dialogue, patient advocacy, and respectful medical collaboration — especially in areas where blood management, patient choice, and clinical excellence intersect. Conversations that center patient-centered care deserve broader visibility. We encourage communities to learn more about the work being done to strengthen communication between hospitals and patient advocacy groups. TheBloodLine™ is not a sponsor or partner of this event. Our platform serves as a public forum for information transport — helping meaningful healthcare discussions travel across the many stops along the anemia and bloodless medicine and patient blood management line. When institutions and advocacy groups work together, the message deserves to move farther. https://lnkd.in/g5Mvh2rQ #CommunityPartnership #PatientCenteredCare #Grateful #HealthcareCollaboration #HudsonValley #pbm #pbm+ #bloodless

New Jersey Association of Community Providers

NJACP Spotlight | Leadership Update – March 2026 Budget season in New Jersey is here and it’s a critical moment for the IDD community. As I continue my first year as CEO of the New Jersey Association of Community Providers (NJACP), I want to thank our members, partners, and advocates for the incredible support since my start. We’ve hit the ground running in 2026 strengthening partnerships, expanding communication, and focusing on the priorities that matter most for our members and the individuals and families they serve. In this month’s NJACP Spotlight, I sat down with our Director of Government Affairs & communications Maureen Shea to talk about the state budget process, why advocacy matters now more than ever, and how every voice in our community can make a difference. In FY27, our key priority is securing a 3% across the board Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA)) for IDD services. With rising inflation, escalating workforce costs and the urgent need to expand capacity in our system that’s already historically underfunded, this COLA increase is critical to maintaining high quality, 24/7 services for the individuals we serve. If policymakers don’t hear from our community, our priorities risk being overlooked. That’s why your voice matters. 🔗 Learn more and take action: https://lnkd.in/ec7UiE9G NJACP remains committed to providing more frequent communication, tools, and opportunities to keep our members informed and empowered. Together, we are more than individual agencies — we are a community working toward one shared mission to advance high-quality, sustainable services for the individuals and families we serve and care so much about. When we stand together, our collective voice is stronger. #NJACP #IDDAdvocacy #DirectSupportProfessionals #DisabilityAdvocacy #NewJerseyPolicy #LeadershipUpdate

New Jersey vocational schools are expanding pre-#nursing and bridge programs to meet growing demand for #healthcare professionals. In this week's NJBIZ 📰 School Work column, Jacqueline Burke highlights new efforts in Monmouth and Ocean counties. "An aging #workforce coupled with an aging population have led the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics to project that health care occupations will outpace all other categories in job growth over the next decade," writes the CareerTechNJ executive director. "Add burnout of current professionals into that equation, and the demand for new talent becomes even greater. "New Jersey’s county #vocational-technical schools ... are creating clear pathways for #students to enter this industry and begin making meaningful contributions." This story hits close to home. Safe staffing and workplace violence protections were the defining issues in the NYC nurses' strike — and they're a big part of the reason we have collaborated with and gathered insights from healthcare professionals across a wide spectrum as we have built OPTICS for Healthcare. We have seen firsthand how consistently these issues can permeate an healthcare organization, impacting its culture, financials, and daily operations. When prevention becomes the priority, everyone wins--staff, patients, visitors, and the overall organization. There is still a long road ahead for the stakeholders in the healthcare industry, and it takes authentic stakeholder conversation and collaboration to create a roadmap that everyone can follow. Proud to be building an application that helps with the roadmaps.

The bill would eliminate certain practice restrictions for Advanced Practice Nurses, allowing APNs to practice independently and expand access to care across the state. More than two dozen practitioners and lobbyists spoke during the 90-minute hearing as lawmakers consider what this change could mean for patient safety and healthcare access in New Jersey.
