Master Astronomer's Sabatons

Elarion BiS Weapons

Asha’s Chronoshift Bow is arguably the best Weapon for Elarion at the moment thanks to its unique ability that deals hefty damage to all enemies around you while channeling. The radius is significant, allowing Elarion to put the hurt on enemies from a relatively safe distance. As an added bonus, Chronoshift acts as a protective barrier that reduces all incoming damage by 50% while also providing massive Cooldown Recovery for 6 seconds.

The Void-Touched Bow is a great alternative Weapon for dealing with powerful single-target threats. The Voidbringer’s Touch debuff replicates a fifth of Elarion’s damage and applies it to the target once the effect expires, or enough damage has been accumulated. This is essentially an occasional free damage burst that can add up to quite a bit of extra DPS over the course of prolonged fights. Needless to say, this effect is especially powerful during Boss fights.

We recommend using the Void-Touched Bow for dealing with Bosses or other powerful single-target threats. If you feel like you don’t need extra help dealing with single entities, but could use a boost to your AoE damage, Asha’s Chronoshift Bow is the perfect choice for you.

Best Weapon Traits

The best Weapon Traits for Elarion will vary slightly depending on your specific playstyle. Having said that, some of the available Traits are so good that you'll often want to stick with them regardless of how you approach Combat. Below, we've split the Weapon Traits into three categories based on how much value they offer to Elarion players.

Must-Have Traits

  • Visions of Grandeur – All-around fantastic choice that enables you to use Event Horizon more often
  • Heroic Brand – A huge damage buff to your Weapon Ability
  • Brave Machinations - Solid Critical Strike chance and Cooldown reduction buffs for your Weapon Ability
  • Inspired Allegiance - Enables you to use your Weapon Ability more often while also providing a Haste buff for you and your allies
  • Hidden Power – Increases your main stat by up to 12% for 15 seconds
  • Amethyst Splinters – All your Critical Strikes deal up to 8% damage over time to enemies

Decent Traits

Not Recommended (Unless You Have no Choice) Traits

Gem Priority

Gems in Fellowship offer various bonuses depending on their type. While it may be tempting to socket as many Gem types as possible into your Equipment in exchange for a wide variety of bonuses, it's generally a lot more efficient to specialize and focus on just a few types.

Elarion benefits the most from Gems that increase his Critical Strike (Amethyst) and Haste (Topaz). Increasing your main stat (Ruby) and Expertise (Emerald) is highly beneficial as well. Generally speaking, Elarion’s Gem priority should be as follows:

Amethyst -> Topaz -> Ruby -> Emerald -> Diamond -> Sapphire

Builds

This is a beginner-friendly build that uses a naturally flowing rotation and should fit well for a relaxed, not overly involved play. It is a well-rounded build that foregoes on more dramatic single-attack damage dealers.

This build focuses mainly on the Multishot ability, with a secondary focus on the Starfall Volley, Lunarlight Mark, and Lunarlight Salvo trifecta for added damage.

This is an advanced build that requires all talent points to be unlocked from the get-go to get the main talents. The focus of the build is to reduce attack cooldowns as much as possible across the board in order to fit more attacks.

Quick Guide (In-Game)

Overview

Elarion is a Ranged Damage Dealer that uses Builder/Spender Mechanics. He excels at damaging while on the move. Most of Elarion's abilities use Focus to deal damage, excelling at both single target and AOE dps.

Elarion's primary power stat is Agility. All damage he deals is affected by this stat.

Role Mechanics

Damage Dealers (DPS) are primarily responsible for the following mechanics:

  • Crowd Control (CC)
    • Every Damage Dealer Hero has abilities than can Interrupt, Slow, Stun, and/or Reposition enemies.
      • These should be used frequently to increase your party's chances of survival.
      • More of these abilities unlock upon completing higher mission difficulties.
    • Enemy abilities that are Interruptible are indicated by Yellow Cast Bars underneath enemy Health Bars.
  • Dealing Damage
    • Every hero has a Core Rotation, which is usually the optimal use of several abilities for best effect.
      • For Damage Dealers especially, learning their Core Rotation, and when to deviate is the key to mastery!
    • Damage Dealer Heroes define the duration of combat as they generally deal the majority of the damage.
    • Keeping an eye on the Damage Meter helps to compare the damage across the group.
      • The Damage Meter is also a good indicator to understand how well you are playing.
    • Many damaging abilities excel at either single-target damage, or dealing damage to groups of enemies.
  • Surviving
    • Keep an eye on the battlefield to avoid dangerous enemy attacks!
      • A dead Damage Dealer kills nothing.
    • Damage Dealers have at least one ability to help them with mobility and to reduce incoming damage.

Damage Dealer Tips:

  • Don't stand in Area of Effect spells on the ground. Use mobility and damage mitigation abilities to survive!
  • Use [Tab] to quickly cycle through enemies that are in front of you.
  • Pick your targets wisely!
    • Focusing on the most dangerous enemy with the other Damage Dealer can protect your party.
    • Attacking the target of the tank can help you avoid getting Aggro.
    • Finishing off enemies with low health will support your Tank and Healer.

    Hero Mechanics

Elarion is a ranged hero, that uses a bow and arrow to deal damage from a distance. Enemies need to be selected, within range, and in front of him.

    Elarion's unique Hero Mechanics:

    • Focus fills up your Focus Bar.
      • Focus is generated when you use Focused Shot
      • All of Elarion's other abilities convert focus into ranged physical or magic damage.
      • Be sure to always be spending your focus as there is a cap.
    • Elarion can move at reduced speeds and use his movement ability while using his skills.
      • All but one of Elarion's abilities will continue casting while moving or rolling.
      • Only Heartseeker Barrage will be canceled by Rolling, you can move while channeling this ability.
    Elarion Tips:
    • There are very few instances where you shouldn't be moving as Elarion, so keep moving to dodge enemy mechanics while still dealing damage.
    • Be sure to not over cap your Focus, always spend your resource.
    • Use Roll to quickly avoid dangerous mechanics, you will not interrupt any of your abilities besides Heartseeker Barrage.

Stat Priority

1. Agility - Primary damage stat, scales all abilities and increases auto attack damage.
