DPS (Damage-dealing) heroes are all about inflicting pain on enemies as rapidly as possible. They often work in tandem with Tanks on the front lines to directly assault the foes in the area. While the Tank attempts to provide a layered defense and draw the focus any enemies, it's up to the DPS heroes to lay down the punishment as hard and fast as possible. These heroes are built to deliver devastating blows. Importantly, they'll often be tasked with providing interrupts for dangerous abilities. Damage dealers are the ones that bring the pain to the enemy. You want to be doing as much damage as possible to take down the enemies while the tank keeps them busy.
