Entering Gestral Village

The Gestral Village is a location filled with NPCs that can offer various services. The first NPC that you will encounter here is Noco, who you first met at Flying Waters.

To progress through the story, head inside the chief's house which is located in the middle of the village. It is being guarded by a Gestral Warrior who will let you inside the house. Talk to Golgra, and she will say that the white-haired man who destroyed Expedition 33's boat also attacked the village. She will suggest you to meet with Esquie so that you will be able to cross the seas.

However, only the greatest warriors are allowed to meet with Esquie, requiring a password. You will need to win the Gestral's Legendary Tournament to get the password, with you fighting their Legendary Warriors and the Stranger. You may join the tournament by going to the arena on the other side of the village. Before participating in the tournament, explore the village first to find loot and purchase upgrades for your party. During the tournament, you will have to face off against the legendary warriors, Bertrand Big Hands, Dominique Giant Feet, and Matthieu the Colossus.

Gestral Village Manor

On the right side of the Gestral Village, you will be able to find performers by the stage — a dancing Gestral and Lorieniso. Head to the area behind the platform, and you can loot x1,220 Expedition 33 Wiki.

Then, climb up the scaffolding nearby by using the rope, and you will find another x1,220 Expedition 33 Wiki. Go down, and you can interact with NPCs such as Alexcyclo, a merchant whose shop can be unlocked by finding a missing expeditioner.

At the path with the "Turn Back" sign, you will be able to find another entrance to The Manor with a Gestral Worker standing by the door.

Enter through the door, and you will find yourself in the kitchen of The Manor. The door ahead of you will be locked, but a trapdoor can be opened by interacting with different objects around the room, in any order: the small candelabra on the table closest to the window, the middle copper pan hanging on the wall above the kitchen counter, and the bust on a high side table in the corner near the exit. This will open a trapdoor by the barrels. Drop down, go past the first room, and you will find a room containing a Shape of Energy in a box towards the back, and a staircase that leads to the locked kitchen door that can be opened from this side.

Drop down to go to the manor's basement. You will be able to find a Gestral lying amidst a pile of food with a cake on its stomach. Jump through the hole to the left of the Gestral to enter the lower level. Break the boxes in the far left corner to find a Shape of Energy. A pile of breakable boxes in front of the stairs also hides a hole. The stairs in this room lead back to the kitchen.

Crawl through the hole after breaking the boxes to enter another room. Near the stairs in that room, break another box to find the Rebellious Haircut for Maelle. Once you have collected the cosmetic, you can head up the stairs that lead to the library. Before entering the library, you can find an easter egg: a painting of the Sandfall Interactive development team. When ready, you can go through and return to the Entry Hall Expedition Flag and exit The Manor through the door that will teleport you back to the Gestral Village.

Exploring the Village

Continue exploring the village, and you will come across Victorifo, a sleeping Gestral blocking the path to a loot beam; shoot the mirror behind him to wake him and reach the loot, but note that Victorifo will want to fight you for stealing from his house. For now, facing the Chief House entrance, on the right side behind a tall gestral, a Colour of Lumina can be picked up. Keep exploring to find Jujubree left of the Chief House, who offers items such as the Critical Moment Pictos, a Recoat, and if you spent a Festival Token to obtain the Weird Pictos during the prologue, Jujubree will reward you with the Augmented Aim Pictos. There is also an option to duel the merchant to unlock the Demonam weapon for Gustave.

Next to Jujubree, you can interact with the Gestral Berrami, who will reward you for showing him Expedition Journals you collect as you continue your exploration. You can revisit him whenever you find new ones for x20 Colour of Lumina.

Keep interacting with the Gestrals, and you will come across a Shady Gestral who says that his shop is in the back alley. If you go to the back alley, you will be fighting Eesda. Defeat Eesda, and you will be able to access their shop.

Eesda's shop contains several items such as a Chroma Catalyst, a Recoat, the Sekarum weapon for Maelle, and the Healing Mark Pictos. Now, facing the back alley entrance on the left side, there's a ramp where you can go up to a higher level and pick up x610 Chroma. On the right side, there's a Gestral scammer who will sell you the Wooden Stick quest item. Then, you will also find Delsitra who sells the Sakapatate Outfit and Gestral Haircut for Gustave. Take a right, and you'll find an all-white Gestral Doctor lying down. To the right of him, you can find a narrow path that leads to the Journal - Expedition 52.

After you pick up the journal, head left of the Gestral Doctor and look to your right, the Chief Hut should be behind you. You'll find 2 big Sakapatates fighting in an old jousting arena, directly behind the Sakapatate on the right, there is a Colour of Luminafound in a knocked over Gestral pot. After that, in front of this arena, talk to the tall gestral standing next to the pillar to get the quest looking for a young gestral. Go back in front of the Gestral Doctor and on the right side of the paint spike, there's an alleyway with a rope to the upper level. Go all the way to the end of this path and talk to the young green Gestral to help him. He will reward Lune with a Sakapatate Outfit (Lune).

One last thing before you head to the tournament, to the left of the jousting arena, there is a small Gestral in front of a Sakapatate with builders working on it, talk to the small Gestral.

He'll tell you that he needs something for his creation, keep going through the dialog and eventually he'll tell you that you need to go to a grotto with blue mushrooms. You can only find this grotto inside Esquie's Nest. After helping him with his quest then win against him, he will reward Gustave with a Pure Outfit (Gustave).

You may then head to the arena to participate in the tournament, where you will come across NPCs such as the Gestral Warrior 1 and Gestral Arena Fan 1 just outside the arena. You may save at the Gestral Arena Expedition Flag and unlock it for quick travel purposes.

Nearby, you can find a path that leads to Ono-Puncho, who will ask you to attack him for 9,999 damage in one attack to win a prize. If you can deal 9,999 damage, you will receive the Sakapatate Outfit for Maelle. For now, go back to the arena and talk to the Gestrals in the area. You may talk to a Gestral Warrior near the arena entrance, who will fight you if you do not "get out of his way." If you defeat him, you will only obtain XP and Expedition 33 Wiki.

Gestral Village Legendary Tournament

Before fighting in the tournament, you may go through the path with a sign that says "Turn Back" to find an area with several items. On the right side, you will be able to find a Recoat. Then, in the middle, you will be able to interact with a wooden door to talk to a Gestral Gambler — choose the dialogue option "I don't care." and you will receive the Roulette Pictos.

Then, once you are ready to participate in the tournament, head back to the arena and talk to Limonsol at the right side of the arena entrance to register. Limonsol states that the prize will be a powerful weapon, and you may register by choosing the dialogue option "Count us in." You will be able to choose the Character who will participate before each fight, as it is strictly one-on-one.

It is suggested to use Lune throughout the whole tournament, as she can deal elemental damage to enemies. Once you have chosen the Character for the first fight, the battle with Bertrand Big Hands will commence. Bertrand is weak against Fire, so it is suggested to choose a character who can deal Fire damage. Then, once you have defeated Bertrand, you will be fighting Dominique Giant Feet.

Once you defeat Dominique Giant Feet, your next opponent will be Matthieu the Colossus, who can be defeated in a few turns by using attacks that deal Fire damage. After Matthieu is defeated, you will be facing the mysterious warrior — a cutscene will play, and the warrior is then revealed to be Sciel.

USE MAELLE FOR THE FINAL FIGHT AGAINST SCIEL TO UNLOCK A WEAPON NOT FOUND ELSEWHERE IN THE GAME, THIS IS A MISSABLE WEAPON!

(you can always talk to Golgra after the tournament and challenge her to a fight to get the weapon, but Golgra is pretty strong so it's your choice)

Once you defeat Sciel, you will be the winner of the tournament. You will be transported to Golgra, and you can choose if you want to go through Sciel's combat tutorial. If you choose to go for the tutorial, you will be fighting Dominique Giant Feet.

Talk to Golgra, and she will say that the password to get to Esquie's Nest is "Get outta my way." You may also have a duel with Golgra, but at this point, she will be able to one-shot any Character you choose, and it is recommended to attempt the Gestral Village fight with her later on in the game.

For now, you may exit the village to head back to camp. Once you are in camp, you may interact with the Characters. Finish the cutscenes, then go to sleep for another cutscene with Sciel and the White-Haired Man.

Once you are in the overworld, head east through the barricaded path, which is now open. Up ahead, you will find Esquie's Nest, the next area.

Legendary Tournament Rewards Table

You can attempt to take on the Legendary Tournament with any of your characters. Once you defeat Sciel and you are named the winner of the tournament, you will be able to get various weapon rewards depending on which character you choose to fight with. As stated above, it is recommended to use Maelle against the fight with Sciel as the weapon reward is missable and cannot be found elsewhere in the game unless you fight Golgra, though the fight with Golgra in the Gestral Village is noticeably much more difficult than other encounters against her found in Dark Gestral Arena and Sacred River.

Gestral Village Golgra Rewards Table

If you do choose to fight Golgra in the Gestral Village, you can choose to duel her multiple times, unlike the fight in the Legendary Tournament itself. The rewards for fighting Golgra are the same as when you defeat Sciel in the tournament, but since you can revisit her in the village to fight her again later in the game, you can receive other weapon rewards for Sciel and Monoco, as well as the weapons for the other characters that didn't fight Sciel in the tournament. All Paint Spike Locations in Gestral Village

Gestral Village Arena Paint Spike

The First paint spike will be near the Gestral Doctor. Enter the village, then turn left when you see the chief's house. Continue down the path until you find the Gestral Doctor lying on the ground. Across the doctor, you can find a Paint Spike — destroy it to find a room containing the Powerful Shots Pictos.

Gestral Village Hidden Alley Paint Spike

The second paint spike will be in the Gestral Arena. From the Gestral Arena Expedition Flag where Limonsol is, head to the path on the left of the arena. Keep following the path and go past the second arena, and you will come across a Paint Spike in a narrow path between houses. Destroy the Paint Spike to reveal a room containing the Betelim weapon for Lune.
