The Manor | Expedition 33

The Manor is a Location in Clair Obscur Expedition 33. Players first visit its extravagant interior during Act I of the main story, when Gustave and Lune are transported there through a mysterious door located in Flying Waters. Initially, only the main area and a study are accessible, and an Expedition Flag can be found right at the entrance. The Manor can also be accessed from different locations, as doors are scattered across The Continent, leading to different rooms inside. Most rooms in The Manor are locked and can only be unlocked by going through these hidden doors. Exploring them is highly rewarding, as they often contain valuable loot and unique collectibles, though some doors can only be reached after Esquie's exploration abilities are unlocked. This page contains information on all the doors found in certain locations, along with the room that the door unlocks.

Access from Flying Waters (Entry Hall & Secret Room)

In Flying Waters, an entrance to The Manor can be found near Noco's Hut. Approaching the door by the hut transports you to The Manor.

Rest at the Entry Hall Expedition Flag on the left side, then head up the stairs on the right. Follow the hallway until you reach an open door; inside, you will find Maelle. After a cutscene, she joins your party.

Once Maelle joins your party, return to the Entry Hall where you will find The Curator blocking the exit. Interact with and defeat it in a duel. Following its defeat, The Curator joins your camp, allowing you to return to Flying Waters.

From the Entry Hall, you can access the second floor via the left staircase. A large portrait hangs low by the landing, with feeding bowls and toys scattered beneath it. You can pass through the painting to enter a secret room containing a Shape of Life.

The portrait on the easel within the hidden room depicts a dog named Monoco, belonging to the development team.

Access from Gestral Village (Kitchen Puzzle & Dining Room)

Along the path marked with the "Turn Back" sign, another entrance to The Manor is located, guarded by a Gestral Worker.

Entering this door leads directly to the kitchen. The door ahead is locked; however, the door behind leads back to the Entry Hall Expedition Flag. To proceed, turn toward the clock on the left and drop through the opening near the barrels to reach the basement cellar. Note: You must interact with items in the room to unlock this passage.

To unlock the opening to the basement cellar, interact with the following three items in any order:

The statue on a pedestal near the exit.
The middle copper pan hanging on the rack above the kitchen counter.
The candelabra on the dining table.

After interacting with these items, drop through the trap door that opens in the corner near the barrels.

In the basement, a Gestral can be found lying amidst a pile of food with a cake on its stomach. Jump through the hole to the left to enter the lower level.

Break the boxes in the far left corner to find a Shape of Energy. A breakable box in front of the stairs also hides a hole. The stairs in this room lead back to the kitchen.

Crawl through the hole behind the breakable box and break another box near the stairs to collect the Rebellious Haircut (Maelle). These stairs lead up to the library. Before entering the library, you can find an easter egg: a painting of the Sandfall Interactive development team. When ready, exit the Manor through the door to return to Gestral Village.

Dining Room Puzzle: The dining room contains a hidden puzzle that grants access to a secret area. Search for four golden, wing-shaped switches mounted on the walls and a pillar.

Activating all four switches triggers a mechanism that reveals a secret entrance beneath one of the switches. Inside, destroy the crates to find a music record (Linen and Cotton or Nocturne Pour Un Masque De Tristesse). Note: During the Epilogue, the switch near the fireplace is missing. You must return to the Manor after the Epilogue to complete this puzzle (Needs Confirmation).

Access from Stone Wave Cliffs (Bedroom)

In Stone Wave Cliffs, an entrance to The Manor is located within the Tide Caverns, guarded by a Gold Chevaliere. From the Tide Caverns Expedition Flag, follow the path and use your grappling hook to cross the gap.

Descend the rope to the cavern floor and head toward the lanterns on the right, where you will encounter a Rocher boss.

Behind the boss area, take another rope down to find the Gold Chevaliere. Defeat it and enter the door to reach a bedroom in The Manor. Open the wardrobe on the left to obtain the Skirt Outfit (Maelle).

Access from Old Lumiere (Bathroom & Renoir's Room)

At the Manor Gardens Expedition Flag, The Manor is visible across the field. Instead of heading straight there, pass through the broken wall on the left. Navigate around the hedges and through the fence archway to find the entrance.

Once inside, you will be in a large bathroom. Collect the Renoir music record from the sink on the right. Exit the bathroom to find the Journal - Renoir on the bedside nightstand.

Access from Visages (Piano Room)

In the Anger Vale section of Visages, enter the cavern on the right just before the mask. Follow the right path to find a door leading to a room with a baby grand piano in The Manor. Collect the Verso music record beside the piano.

Open the nearby door to reach a bedroom containing a glyph atop a chest. Interact with it to obtain the Journal - Unknown. Finally, exit through the entry hall to return to Visages.

Access from Sirene (Bathroom Mirror Secret)

Progress through Sirene until the floating transporter carries you through an underground tunnel. At the fork in the path, the entrance to The Manor is located on the right.

Shoot the mirror over the sink to reveal a hidden passage. Follow the path and drop through the hole at the end to reach the passageway leading back to the Manor entrance, where you will find a Shape of Health.

Access from The Monolith (Indoor Garden)

Starting from the Tainted Battlefield Expedition Flag, cross the bridge and proceed through the archways until you reach a grave. A narrow tunnel to the left of the grave leads to The Manor entrance.

Upon entering, you will be in the indoor garden. Turn left immediately to collect the L'amour D'une Mere record. Near the central statue, you can also pick up the Journal - Aline.

Access From Falling Leaves (Study)

From the Resinveil Grove Expedition Flag, turn right after passing through the stone archway and descend the path. Defeat the enemies ahead and continue until you reach an upside-down female figure.

To the left of this figure is the door to the manor. Entering leads to a study where you can collect the Music Record, Alicia. Exit the manor to return to Falling Leaves.

Access from Frozen Hearts (Clea's Workshop)

From the Glacial Falls Expedition Flag, proceed along the path to the right. Take the rope up and grapple across to the cliff where you will find broken tracks and structures.

Climb the structure to the right, then grapple onto the floating train. Move to the lower end to activate a rope. Descend to the train cart and proceed through the ice tunnel. Inside this cave, you will find the Chromatic Veilleur and the entrance to The Manor.

Enter the door to reach Clea's workshop. Collect the Music Record, Clea! Don't Pull Your Sister's Hair!, near the harp.

Access via The Canvas (Hidden Hallway)

Collect the Manor Family Canvas and return to The Manor. Placing it in the large frame near the staircase unlocks the doors down the hall from the dining room.

Inside, collect the Journal - Unknown. On the right, you will also find the Painted Me Outfit (Maelle).

Access from The Reacher (Study)

From the Ladder Area Expedition Flag, cross the bridge and take the right path down to the lower tower level. The entrance is on the right at the bottom of the ramp.

Entering leads to a study where you can pick up the Journal - Unknown.

Access to The Manor from The Continent

Access from The Continent: Stone Wave Cliffs Cave (Study)

While on The Continent, switch to Esquie and navigate to the location southeast of the Stone Wave Cliffs Cave.

Enter The Manor to find a study. Open the protruding double doors to find a room with two hanging figures, where you can collect the Music Record, Forlorn.
