Swashbuckler is a new class that features new actions such as throwing sand at enemies to Blind them, disarming a target's weapon by flicking your weapon or utilizing the new passive, Fancy Footwork, to ensure the enemy can't make opportunity attacks against you for the rest of your turn. BG3 Swashbuckler Features Progression
Level 3
- Fancy Footwork - If you make a melee attack against a target, that target can't make opportunity attacks against you for the rest of your turn.
- Rakish Audacity - You gain a +1 bonus to Initiative rolls. This scales with your rogue level. You no longer need Advantage to trigger Sneak Attack as long as you are within 1.5m of the target and don't have Disadvantage.
Level 4
Learn the following dirty tricks, use Charisma for spellcasting modifier
- Dirty Trick: Flick o' the Wrist - Flick your weapon at a target and possibly Disarm them. Gain Advantage on your next attack.
- Dirty Trick: Sand Toss - Toss a handful of sand at your enemy and possibly Blind them.
- Dirty Trick: Vicious Mockery - Insult a creature: it has Disadvantage on its next Attack Roll.
Level 9
- Panache - Roll a Persuasion check to beguile a humanoid, who must contest it with an Insight check. Enemies who fail gain Panache: Disadvantage; others who fail become Charmed.

AnonymousNot sure if anyone will be interested but:
I love this class, basically 3 attacks per round (at level4) counting bonus action + attack + sneak attack (reaction). It dishes a lot of damage.
I am currently using it as a tav with 16 dex and 16 cha, lot of fun.
Regarding the DC scaling:
- flick and mockery scales with Charisma modifier.
- Sand toss (Blind) scales with dexterity
Regarding the damage scaling:
- Sand toss and mockery do not scale based on any modifier
- Flick scales of your weapon modifier (so it will scale from charisma if you multiclass with a warlock hexblade and bind the weapon)
At level 5, I tried 4 level of shawbuckler with savage attacker as a feat and 1 level of warlock hexblade and I dish so much damage with flick -> booming blade + reaction sneak attack.
Also, you can apply reverberation twice per turn with boots of stormy clamour. It also works well with the ring of arcane acuity since booming blade is a cantrip.
I will do more testing but so far, the action are simple every turn but very fun.
So far the only limitation I found is that you can't neglect DEX even if you have high charisma and bind the weapon because low DEX mean sand toss will never land (you will land the damage since it's an attack roll but the blind condition will most likely be resisted since the DC is based on DEX).
I hope this will help some.
Anonymous+1 Initiative per rogue level seems strong... Potentially frees up taking alert, getting 7 lvls in swashbuckler doesn't seem bad at all: 4d6 sneak attack & survivability bonuses from uncanny dodge & evasion. That still leaves 5 lvls for a martial class like fighter or Pala for the extra attack, fighting style & your choice in smite or combat maneuvers.

AnonymousLevel 3 - Pick a Rogue Subclass (Thief, Arcane Trickster, Assassin)
... and obviously Swashbuckler
AnonymousCharisma-based abilities? Feels like to be effective, you have to main charisma and combine it with bladelock

AnonymousThis subclass actually cranks hard. LV9 Panache is GREAT but not necessary. Free sneak attacks as long as there is no disadvantage(making this the easiest sneak attack rogue right up there with arcane trickster). Super useful bonus actions as well. Blind for two turns, Disarm, create attack roll disadvantage. I plan on making Wyll a lv4 SB and 8 hexblade

AnonymousSTRONGEST LV4 CLASS
AND... NOW WHAT?
Where is my extra attack?
lidl battlemaster for ants smh my head
AnonymousAt level 7 now, pure swashbuckler.
My setvup:
High half-elf
Picked booming blade cantrip.
Starting stats:
STR: 8
DEX: 16
CON: 14
INT: 10
WIS: 10
CHR: 16
Level 4 feat was moderately armored for the +1 to DEX and use of medium armors.
Used Ethel's hair to get to 18 DEX.
I have the stormy clamour boots, deathstalker mantel, belligerent sky gloves, yuan ti scale mail, ring of protection, and the misty step amulet so far.
My weapons are the undermoutain knife and dark fire shortbow.
I'm one shotting all late act 1 enemies and early act 2 enemies!
This is such a blast to play!

AnonymousTrying this out, as soon as it reaches level 4 it seems to subtly gain a trait of monks where certain weapons now scale with dex instead of str yet nothing says it should. So far effected weapons are: maces, handaxes, spears, quarterstaffs, loght hammers, longswords, clubs, and javelins.

AnonymousThis subclass is interesting. You get so much from using bonus actions it seems. From my perspective you can get: Blindness without a spell slot, charm without a spell slot, disarm without using a superiority die, and a sneak attack without being at advantage. Great subclass to multiclass with on paper. If you are playing base game id say you can go to level 4 and run with a lot of debuffing options and sneak attack opportunities. Can't wait to apply them to a build

AnonymousDoesnt feel like this subclass is going to do much for rogue damage. Sneak attack is still quite hamstrung.

Maybe this + paladin + hexblade
