Longswords in Baldur's Gate 3 are pieces of equipment that are used to inflict damage against hostile characters such as Enemies and Bosses. Longswords are Versatile Martial Weapons in BG3 that can be one-handed or two-handed, dealing 1-8 Damage when one-handed and 1-10 damage when two-handed. They have a range of 1.5m, and they deal Slashing Damage, though some special Longswords also deal another type of Damage as well.
Many Longswords have unique properties, so you should read carefully what these do, and many also have Weapon Actions that can only be used if you are Proficient with Longswords in BG3. These Weapon Actions are Pommel Strike, Lacerate, and Rush Attack.

AnonymousLongswords in this game are pretty disappointing. We get 2 Legendary Maces and 2 Legendary greatswords but no legendary longswords? Most of the ones we get are super situational as well.

AnonymousLarethian's Wrath and Phalar Aluve also have Finesse in addition to Versatile.
