You need to defeat the three Antumbra bosses inside certain sanctums to unseal the Cloister of Ruination in Crimson Desert. Traveling to the cloister before taking care of all the Antumbra yields no results as there's nothing there but a boss that only appears after the conditions are met. Here's what you can do in the Cloister of Ruination and how to unseal the hidden boss in Crimson Desert.
What To Do In The Cloister Of Ruination In Crimson Desert
To unseal the Cloister of Ruination, you need to complete four steps:
- Defeat Antumbra's Staff in Sanctum of Soalce
- Defeat Antumbra's Sword in Sanctum of Absolution
- Defeat Antumbra's Spear in Sanctum of Revelation
- Grab Antumbra's Spear from the Sanctum of Revelation
Upon defeating one of the Antumbra bosses, you will gain knowledge of an enemy called Ator, the Antumbra Archon. He is the sealed boss in the Cloister of Ruination.

Each of the Antumbra bosses is located inside a Sanctum that belongs to a certain witch. You don't need to cleanse the Sanctums to proceed with the Cloister of Ruination quest, as simply defeating the boss is enough.
Keep in mind that these areas are filled with enemies and some will join the boss fight. The Sanctums are scattered around Pywel and reaching some of them might prove difficult, so be prepared.
The Antumbra bosses are mostly manageable as long as you are prepared for the deadly attacks that can one-shot you. Some have a gimmick that makes it easier to fight them, like Antumbra's Staff's deadly attack that is avoidable by using Force Palm to stop him.
Once you defeat all three versions of Antumbra, you will proceed with the Faction Quest and get an update that you broke 3 out of 3 seals to the underground of the Cloister of Ruination.
Head to the Cloister of Ruination and go to the deepest level to finally meet Ator, the Antumbra Archon.
Cloister Of Ruination Location In Crimson Desert
The Cloister of Ruination is located west-most of Pailune, close to the Silver Wolf Mountain. You can find it after entering the Wayward Woods.
The cloister is pretty far from most Abyss Nexus, so it might take some time to reach it. Luckily, after visiting it for the first time, you can climb to the highest point next to the cloister to find an Abyss Cresset. This is used as a fast-travel point to come back quickly once the seal is broken.
From the top, glide down through the tower to the lowest floor.
If you have done everything correctly, Ator appears and the fight will start. Enjoy the boss fight.
