Players can find a Gold Bar very early on in Crimson Desert, and later, they can find a crafting recipe that can be used to alchemically transmute certain materials into even more Gold Bars. This is one of the best ways to get a ton of money, and if you invest gold in a bank, you can get even more funds by doing virtually nothing. Here's what you can do to jumpstart your early economy in Crimson Desert.

How To Buy & Manage Horses In Crimson Desert
How To Heal, Tame, And Manage Horses In Crimson Desert

Players can do a lot of things with horses in Crimson Desert, so here's how to heal, tame, buy, feed, level up your horse, and more.

Crimson Desert Gold Bar Location

The first Gold Bar players can get is inside Lioncrest Manor, which is a short jog to the northwest of the starting town of Hernand. This place has plenty of guards barring its entrances, and you won't be able to just walk in through the front door. Instead, you'll have to climb up the outer walls and enter via one of the upstairs windows.

Before you attempt this, make sure you have a Mask with you. These can be bought from black market traders, looted from bandits, or obtained as a reward for completing the Jeffrey bounty in the Hernand Barracks. Additionally, complete Bruna's Request first to get rid of some NPCs in the manor.

Once you're inside Lioncrest Manor, head to the first floor and look for the fireplace on the opposite side of the main entrance. Turn off the fire, then hold your Aim button until you see the Steal prompt appear. If you're wearing a Mask, you'll be able to reach out and grab a Gold Bar from the fireplace.

Keep in mind that there are guards patrolling the interior of Lioncrest Manor. Wait for the guard on the first floor to enter the hallway next to the fireplace. As soon as he enters, steal the Gold Bar. This should give you enough time to get the item without getting caught.

Demeniss Wildlife Park

There's a park in Demeniss that has a huge gathering of nobles, and each of them has a small chance to have a Gold Bar in their pockets. Shine your lantern or use Blinding Flash on them to see what they have, and if you spot a noble carrying a Gold Bar, pickpocket them (wear a Mask and bump into them while pressing your Interact button). The odds of a noble carrying gold seem to be fairly low. Just inspect each of the guests, and you should eventually find a good target.

Gold Bar Crafting Recipe Location

You can craft Gold Bars of your own by getting the recipe inside the Spire of Insight. The latter is all the way to the southeast of Hernand, by the Steel Mountains. You can ride there on your horse, or use the skybridges in the Abyss above and skydive somewhere close to the spire. Reach the third floor of the Spire of Insight, then look for an alchemical formula pinned to one of the shelves. There's a similar formula inside a Witch's hideout in the Silver Wolf Mountains too.

Crafting Gold Bars

Head over to any Witch's hideout, then speak the owner of the place. There's one in the Shadow's Whisper Cave north of Hernand. Once you unlock the ability to craft Abyss Gears, there will be an option there to craft Gold Bars. You'll need the following materials:

  • 3 Brimstone
  • 3 Mercury
  • 10 Silver Ore

Gold Bars can also be crafted a smithy using 100 Gold Ore.

How to Invest Gold in Crimson Desert

With your new Gold Bar in tow, go to the Hernand Bank and speak with the banker. You'll have the option to register a Strongbox under your name. This will cost 100 Silver, but it'll be well worth it as Gold Bars are typically worth 500 Silver when invested. Pick your desired investment strategy once you get a Strongbox, and just leave your Gold Bar there to grow.
