Players can buy and manage horses from stables found all across Pywel in Crimson Desert. Getting a new horse can also be done by taming a wild one, which can be found in the wilderness in all types, colors, and skills.
Horses are the players' first mount in Crimson Desert. Kliff gets it during the Unknown Space Quest after Sebastian offers their wild capture, which won’t let him ride it.
How To Get A Pet In Crimson Desert
Sheltering a pet will allow players to have an automatic looter in Crimson Desert.
How To Heal Horses In Crimson Desert
To heal a horse that is wounded or unable to run in Crimson Desert, you can feed it treats or Tonics, or take it to a Stable. If you choose the second method, do these steps:
- Go to any Stable, like the one in your camp or northwest of the City of Hernand.
- Talk to the Stable person.
- Choose Retrieve and Heal Horse.
By completing these steps, the Stable’s owner will summon back your mount and heal it completely in exchange for Copper or Silver Coins, depending on the severity of injury.
To know if a horse is injured, check for visible injuries on its coat or for signs like sitting on the grass after it's summoned.
How To Feed Horses In Crimson Desert
To feed horses in Crimson Desert, Kliff needs to mount his horse, open the inventory, select a treat or Tonic, then press "Feed horse" by long-pressing the Use button.
Another way players can feed their horse is by dropping the item in front of the horse by following these steps:
- Summon the mount.
- Select the food from the inventory.
- Discard the item.

How To Tame Horses In Crimson Desert
To tame horses in Crimson Desert, players must hold the movement button or steer the analog in the direction of the wild horse’s tail. When you find a horse in the wilderness, sprint after it and ride it. Then, press W, A, S, D on the PC or the analog on the controller until the rope icon is filled, and before your Stamina runs out. You can't eat while taming a horse in Crimson Desert, so don't bother stocking up on Stamina food.
If players fail to fill the icon, they will get yeeted off the horseback, but don’t fret, you can still get up and run after it to try again as many times as you want.
Wild horses can be found roaming the wilderness in all different types and colors, so it is up to you to pick which horse to capture and bring back to your Stable. To check any captured horse's stats, you need to tame it first, then choose whether you want to keep it or send it back to the wilderness.
If you don't want to go through all these, you can simply buy a horse in Crimson Desert.
