Finding a good bow early on in Crimson Desert is a lot harder than it seems. Most of the ones players can pick up aren't any better than the bow Kliff starts with. If you want to find a better bow in Crimson Desert, you'll have to do a lot of exploring, but if you'd rather not poke your head inside every waterfall or dive inside every ruin, here are three spots on the map that will lead you to a better ranged weapon.

Bow Crafting Manual – Spire of Insight

To the southeast of Hernand is the Spire of Insight, a massive tower with a few goodies inside. You'll find a crafting manual for ranged weapons on a bookshelf on the first floor. To enter the Spire of Insight in Crimson Desert, use Blinding Flash or any fire-based attack to burn away the thorny thicket blocking the entrance, then once you reach the front door, pick up a pebble from the ground and place it on the door's basin.

By reading this crafting manual, you'll unlock a bunch of craftable bows at any of the blacksmiths in the world. At this point, it's all a matter of getting crafting materials and making the one you fancy most.

It's worth noting that Kliff's starting bow is actually pretty good once upgraded. You'll still need to unlock its Abyss Gear sockets and find actual Abyss Gears to make it more worthwhile.

Gold-Knotted Ancestral Bow – Silver Wolf Mountain

This bow is hidden inside an underground dungeon in the Silver Wolf Mountain, which is all the way north of Hernand. Go to the spot indicated in the image above (refer to the horizontal and vertical lines for more accurate navigation), then look for an open hatch on the ground. Go down the hatch, and you'll find yourself in a trap-filled dungeon. Go further down the dungeon, and cross the chamber with the sawblades and swinging traps. At the end, you'll find the bow in a sealed room.

What makes the Gold-Knotted Ancient Bow one of the best bows in Crimson Desert is that it comes with the Life Transference Abyss Gear, which essentially gives you lifesteal. This alone makes the bow worth getting, even if you aren't interested in ranged combat. Life Transference will help you maintain your health in a fight, especially in big battles where you're bound to take damage from enemy projectiles.

Just past the north gate of Pailune is Valgrind Tomb, a small POI that's nothing more than a resting place for someone important. Make your way inside, then look for a small hole in the wall to your right. Crouch and enter the hole to find a chest containing the Noble Man's Bow.

Stat-wise, it's similar to the Gold-Knotted Ancestral Bow, except this one comes with the Malicebane Abyss Gear, which increases its damage against mighty foes (i.e. bosses) by a small percentage. Again, you can extract this gear by visiting a witch, then embed it to some other weapon.

In our playthrough, we began exploring Pailune by Chapter 7 of the main quest. If you find yourself here before reaching that point in

the story, you may run into tons of strong enemies patrolling the roads.
