Abandoned Shrine Walkthrough

The Abandoned Shrine is the Beacon Dungeon corresponding to the Nochtean Gate Beacon. To begin the dungeon, head forward and pull the lever to summon the elevator. Stand on the square platform to send the elevator back down and descend the staircase to reach the first of many Parasited Soldiers. Once you've defeated him, continue down the path and drop into a wide cavern filled with more of these grotesque soldiers. Use the pillars around the room to dodge their attacks and head down the path leading off of the corner of the room.

Vrago, Solikar Champion

That path leads you to a pit containing Vrago, the Solikar Champion. This boss is heavily armored and uses a massive shield as a weapon. Many of his moves have long windups, and he pulls his arm back behind himself before swinging his shield at you. This gives you enough time to read his moves and dodge out of the way. He can swing his shield up to four times in a row before jumping up into the air and smashing it down on you. The best time to retaliate is after this combo is complete. 

Vrago can cover a lot of ground when he jumps with his shield above his head, so dodging to either side is a safer bet than dodging backward. 

He can also throw his shield toward you like a boomerang, so be careful not to get hit when the shield returns to him. He can also hold the shield in the air and swing it around in a circle. This move covers a lot of ground as well, so time your dodges accordingly.

After defeating Vrago, you will receive the Voltaic Crown Tarstone along with your Gloom and 2x Glimpse. The Voltaic Crown allows you to consume 30 Resolve to infuse your weapon with lightning. Once the battle is complete, approach the structure at the far side of the room, cleanse the corruption, and collect the Ova to return to the Beacon.
