Memory of Inarius Diablo Fight Strategy
The Memory of Inarius starts after it frees from being restrained on the crimson chains that Mephisto cast upon him. In combat, this boss has a balanced combat approach when dealing with its enemies. Some of its attacks, like the Divine Wings and Mirrors of Penitence have a wide AoE range too, which can be difficult to dodge if you are a melee fighter. It is recommended to be tactical and agile against this boss in combat, and during the early phase of the battle, study the right timing for when you can launch a counterattack against its offensive moves. It is safe to say that having a defensive approach against Memory of Inarius will help you a lot in defeating this boss.
Starting with the basic attacks, the Spear Stab and Spear Smash can be easily countered through a side step in either direction, as long as it is away from the front-facing direction of Memory of Inarius. Avoiding this attack can also open you to the possibility of dashing behind it and striking with a backstab attack to inflict damage. You have to watch out for the Divine Impaler, as it is not easy to dodge when Memory of Inarius strikes, as the attack animation is swift. However, you can evade this attack move by jumping away from the location where you are prior to him leaping into the sky. We have observed that Memory of Inarius most likely lands on the last spot that he remembers where you were. Avoid getting hit by this attack at all costs, as it deals massive damage and can be fatal if you have low HP prior to receiving damage from this attack.
A couple more techniques that we can share with you is about how to avoid the damage from Divine Wings and Mirrors of Penitence. Divine Wings work like a huge fan of blades that spin around and damage all enemies caught within this radius. What you can do is dash to the other corner of the battle area, and it should be just enough to avoid the radius of the Divine Wings. This attack also inflicts a lot of damage, so it is a must for you to evade it. Another special attack is the Mirrors of Penitence. This is where it gets tricky. Same as the Divine Wings, it has a very wide AoE. Still, the technique is to draw yourself close to Memory of Inarius, at a melee distance, which brings you to a sweet spot at the back of the mirrors flashing light rays that burn enemies that are hit, and continuously attack him. At the same time, he moves along with the rotating mirrors.
There will be a second stage of the battle wherein you will need to restrain Memory of Inarius with crimson chains, as he gets out of control and will seek help from the souls of angelic warriors. This is often triggered when Memory of Inarius HP bar falls beyond half. You will notice it through the animation of souls starting to roam around Inarius and the crimson chain mechanisms. During this phase, Memory of Inarius will be invulnerable to attacks, and the only way to pacify him is to get him restrained on the crimson chains found on the mechanism from the top left and top right of the battle area. He will cast a spell, the Summon Knight Penitence. These knights can spawn around the mechanism and around Inarius to help him fight you. Keep in mind, these underlings can spawn at random, and you will need to eliminate them quickly when they appear so you can do your objective, which is to activate the crimson chain mechanism and go back to Memory of Inarius to lock him down with it.
Doing the fighting strategy that we have shared with you, based on our observations about this boss fight, should help you defeat Memory of Inarius, and restrain him so you and Lilith can get the information that you need in order to defeat Mephisto.
Memory of Inarius Boss Attacks & Counters
Spear Stab
Memory of Inarius uses his divine spear to stab foes in front of him. This attack can be dodged by doing a side step away from the front-facing direction of Memory of Inarius. You can dash behind him afterward and perform a backstab strike to deal damage to Memory of Inarius.
Spear Smash
Another primary attack where Memory of Inarius smashes his enemy in front of him with his divine spear. Similar to the Spear Stab, it can be dodged by doing a side step away from the front-facing direction of Memory of Inarius. You can dash behind him and do a backstab strike to inflict counterattack damage after.
Divine Impaler
A special attack of Memory of Inarius where he flies in the sky for about two seconds, and impales the target location. Once it flies, flee from your last known spot because that is where he will land from the sky and impale you with his spear. After this attack, you can dash forward and perform a counter strike to deal damage.
Divine Wings
Memory of Inarius spreads its wings and spins around the battle area, inflicting damage on a large AoE. This attack can be evaded by dashing backwards at a far distance. After its wings contract, dash forward to Memory of Inarius and do a counterattack to inflict damage.
Mirrors of Penitence
A special attack done by Memory of Inarius, where it summons divine mirrors distanced around him, and exudes a shining ray of light to inflict damage to enemies around him as he walks. This attack can be dodged by closing in beside Memory of Inarius and attacking him at melee range while he moves along with his mirrors. This attack lasts for about five seconds, so you have to be careful not to be hit by the light rays to avoid receiving damage.
Summon Knight Penitence
A summoning spell that is cast by Memory of Inarius while you attempt to restrain him with the crimson chains. This spell is activated when you drain his HP beyond half. Memory of Inarius is invulnerable while this summoning spell is active. He will call forth the souls of angelic warriors from the heavens for help, and Knight Penitence will spawn randomly on spots where roaming souls will be flying around. You will find them roaming around Inarius in the battle area, and on the corners where the crimson chain mechanism is. These minions respawn at a random chance, and if encountered, eliminate them first before resuming with activating the chain mechanism and going back to Memory of Inarius to restrain him with the crimson chain.

This wiki neglects the hardest part of the fight, avoiding contact with the orbs durning chain phase 2.
