Seasons in Diablo 4 is an optional game mode that lasts for a couple of months and encourages players to start a new character to enjoy and participate in Seasonal Events, new features, and the latest mechanics. Each Season can bring new Weapons, Armor, Accesories, Items, Enemies, Event Materials, and more, providing a fresh experience and the opportunity to try new strategies. Seasons also make for fairer play, as all players participating have to start from the beginning. Read more about the Season Guides here.
Players participating in a Season will only be able to play and interact with other players participating in the same Season. Players won't be able to trade or receive help from characters outside the Season. Once the season ends, the character will be available to play in the Eternal Realm, and a new character will have to be created to play the new season.
This page will be updated as new information about each Season in Diablo 4 is released. The current season in Diablo 4 is Season 13, Season of Reckoning.

Season of Death Awakening, or Season 14, is the upcoming and new timed event that launches on June 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. PDT. The Age of Hatred has ended, and the veil of death looms over Sanctuary. Season of Death Awakening descends in the wake of Mephisto’s defeat. Seek out Pandemonium Ruptures, try out new builds and supercharge favorites with Mythic Uniques 3.0, ascend the newly released Tower and Leaderboards to earn new rewards, and carve your own fortune as Solo Self Found.
The PTR for Season 14 Season of Death Awakening is available from June 2, 10:00 a.m. PDT to June 9, 10:00 a.m. This allows you to test the upcoming changes that will be featured in the Season of Death Awakening. Season 14 features some new updates and reworks on mechanics that have been introduced in previous seasons.
A new event called the Pandemonium Ruptures, where you encounter various enemies you will need to defeat, along with a new enemy family called The Risen. Other new updates feature a Solo Self Found Mode where you can take the role of the solo wanderer throughout Sanctuary, Mythic Uniques 3.0, and new rewards that are entering the Tower and Leaderboards.
Season 14 Season of Death Awakening is a free update, everyone who owns the game will be able to access and experience the update. Patch 3.1.0 is available for pre-download on June 25 at 10 a.m. PDT for the following platforms: Battle.net, Xbox, and PlayStation™.

Please visit the Warlock page to find our unique Warlock builds and a complete list of equipment for the class, skills, and various guides for the class.
Pandemonium Ruptures
During Season of Death Awakening, the division between Sanctuary and Pandemonium is ripped asunder by arcane rifts called Pandemonium Ruptures. These rifts call a new family of monsters to slay, the chance to summon a familiar boss, and new opportunities for loot by conquering deadly Deathtoll Chambers. You will encounter three types of Pandemonium Ruptures. Kill the guardians around Death's Head Idols, creating an open Rupture and casting a ritual ring. The longer you keep the Rupture open, the more rewards you’ll earn. Killing monsters and closing Tears will help keep it open. Rupture Goblins can also appear anywhere, opening additional Ruptures.
- Ruptures (Normal): Small Ruptures can spawn throughout the overworld of Sanctuary but are especially prevalent in Helltides.
- Surging Ruptures: Medium ruptures can spawn in place of any local event within a Helltide.
- Colossal Ruptures: Large ruptures appear only in the Fields of Desecration, the World Boss Arena southeast of Zarbinzet.

The new Monster Family, The Risen, is a group of Gravehounds that appear out of Ruptures and within the Deathtol Chambers as well. When you defeat a Gravehound, it will drop orbs that will empower the Exarch. The Exarch is a special Risen that will absorb any Orb that floats towards it. You will need to intercept them before they arrive so that you can claim the power for yourself.
NOTE: The developers have reduced the time it takes to close tears within Ruptures, and new Tears appear more quickly. In addition, they've also reduced mob density and Elite spawning on Normal difficulty; this was overtuned for early leveling in PTR. You’ll also earn more Pandemonium Fragments from sealing Ruptures.
Diablo 4 Realmwalker 2.0
The Realmwalker was introduced during the Season of Hatred Rising, Season 6. They have made a return this season to challenge players, new or seasoned, to participate in the Pandemonium Ruptures. You can have the opportunity to summon a Realmwalker if you complete different types of Pandemonium Ruptures. Once you have Conquered the Realmwalker, it will open a portal to a Death Chamber.
- Ruptures (Normal): Cannot Summon Realmwalkers
- Surging Ruptures: Gives a chance to spawn a Realm walker when Surging Rupture events are completed with Mastery within the time allotted.
- Colossal Ruptures: Guarantees a Realmwalker spawn when completed.

The Deathtoll Chamber
The Deathtoll Chamber is a mini-dungeon that consists of a single room that can be accessed either by defeating the Realmwalker or by using the Rupture affix after closing enough Tears within Ruptures within a Nightmare Dungeon. Once you are inside, you will need to complete a special Rupture activity and gain even more rewards. Participating in Deathtoll Chambers is one of the best ways to farm for Betrayer's Husks, which are required to open the Seasonal Lair Boss's Hoard in Tormnent 1+.

Diablo 4's New Seasonal Lair Boss
A new boss is added to the Sanctuary of Diablo 4, the Pandemonium Threshold, the Corrupted Reaper’s lair, can be found in Zarbinzet. Upon defeating the boss during the seasonal quest, players can access and fight the boss as a repeatable Lair Boss. This new boss requires Superior Lair Keys to open the rewards cache. It will also give the best direct drop chances for both Mythic Uniques and Mythic Unique Upgrade currency (Pandemonium Fragments) than any other activity.
Mythic Uniques 3.0 in Diablo 4
In the Season of Death Awakening, every Unique item can now be a mythic item. Mythic Unique items are now a modifiable Item Quality instead of it being just an item rarity. You will now have access to make any Unique Item that you have into a Mythic through Item Quality modifiers and will have its Unique Powers increased by 30%. Every Unique item can now drop as a Mythic Unique, or you can upgrade them to be a Mythic Unique using the Horadric Cube. You can craft or obtain Mythic Uniques through the following methods:
- Craft Mythic Uniques using the Cube. The Seasonal currency, Pandemonium Fragments, is a necessary material used to convert Uniques to Mythic Uniques using the Horadric Cube.
- Pandemonium Fragments can be earned from the Season Reputation board, Resplendent Caches, and from killing the Seasonal Lair Boss.
- You can also create Mythic Uniques from the Jeweler using Resplendent Sparks and Runes.
- Defeat the Season Lair Boss, a Corrupted Reaper, for a chance to get a dropped Mythic Unique.
- Progress through Season Ranks to earn class-specific Mythic Uniques from Mythic Unique Caches.
- On both Seasonal and Eternal Realms, you’ll have a very rare chance to find a Mythic Unique whenever an Ancestral Unique would drop.
NOTE: You can only equip one crafted Mythic item at a time. You can equip as many Mythic Uniques you want that were acquired from drops or caches, but you can only have one crafted Mythic Unique equipped at a time.
What is Mythic Unique Crafting in Diablo 4?
First, let's go over a brief overview of how Mythic Unique Crafting works:
- You can start crafting Mythic Uniques starting at level 70 in Torment+ (the recipe does not show up if you don’t meet those criteria).
- Use the Upgrade to Mythic function in the Horadric Cube or Rune Crafting with the Jeweler.
- Mythic Unique Crafting requires one 850+ Unique item occupying the slot of the item you want to craft (it does not need to be the exact item), plus the following reagents per combination:
- Horadric Cube: 5 Pandemonium Fragments
- Jeweler: 18 specific Runes and 3 Resplendent Sparks
A Unique item for a specific slot will produce a Mythic Unique item for the same slot, but not necessarily with the same Unique affix that you put in. There is no advantage to matching the Unique to the one you want to get; Frostburns are not more likely to produce Mythic Frostburns. Likewise, don’t worry about picking a base Unique item for the recipe with specific affixes or GAs, as these are all re-rolled on conversion. You can get random GAs on crafted Mythic Uniques, but these are not guaranteed. And all Mythic Uniques are Ancestral quality, even if the base item was not.
NOTE FROM THE DEVS FOR CHANGES FOR MYTHIC UNIQUE CRAFTING
Players who put in a Unique for a specific slot will get back a random class-usable Mythic Unique for the same slot. Putting in a pair of Unique Boots will return a random pair of Mythic Unique Boots, mirroring the way the alternate Jeweler method handles these conversions. One-Handed Weapons, Offhands, and Shields all share one slot category, so a Necromancer putting in a One-Handed Weapon Unique may get a Mythic Unique Focus or Shield in return, or vice versa.
Uniques, Mythic Uniques, and Iconic Uniques can now also have one affix rerolled at the Enchanter. Affixes from Enchanting, Transfiguration, and Tempering are now always max rolls when added to a Mythic Unique.
Changes to All Diablo 4 Unique Items
Developers' Notes
"During the PTR, we reduced the number of guaranteed Affixes on all three types of Uniques (normal, Mythic Unique, and Iconic Mythic) to one. Our intention was to open up more room for players to choose versions of Uniques where the affixes fit their build better. An example of this is the Heir of Perdition, a popular helm for an outsized number of endgame builds. One of its standard affixes gives a bonus to Core Skills. Many popular endgame builds don’t even use Core Skills, making this a wasted affix."
"However, we heard the feedback from players who felt that reducing the guaranteed affixes diluted the identity of Unique items, and that the predictability of these items was a stabilizing element to many build concepts. As a result, all Uniques, Mythic Uniques, and Iconic Mythics will have two guaranteed affixes, preserving what makes it distinctive while opening new possibilities for build diversity." - You can find a list of all Unique affix changes in the 3.1 Patch Notes on the Patch Notes page.
Changes to Iconic Mythic Affixes
Iconic Mythics such as Melted Heart of Selig or Ring of the Starless have become "must-have" in many endgame builds, making other Uniques or Legendary Aspects unable to compete for these slots. The combination of powerful Aspects with a predetermined set of strong Affixes on Iconic Mythics was difficult to beat for many builds; indeed, some builds were created around these items in mind. Players can no longer make Iconic Mythics at the Jeweler, but you can still make random Iconic Mythics at the Blacksmith.
Tower and Leaderboards Beta Rewards
New cosmetics have been added to reward players for completing the Leaderboard. Rewards can be earned at the end of each Leaderboard reset and also each season reset. You willl still be able to obtain the weekly rewards the next time you log in if the previous week has already done its reset. You can keep the titles and halos you earned through the season until they reset for the next season. When the next season starts, you will be rewarded with an emblem showing your highest rank achieved on any weekly leaderboard from previous seasons.
Rewards you can obtain each week on the Leaderboard:
- Progression:
- Played the Tower this week
- Reacher Tower Tier 100 or Higher
- Ranks:
- Top 1,000 on any leaderboard
- Top 500 on any leaderboard
- Top 100 on any leaderboard
- Top 10 on any leaderboard
- Top 1 on any leaderboard
- Each week, you'll earn the following rewards based on your best rank:
- A Halo Cosmetic
- A Prestige Title
- Gear Cache
- Higher ranks reward more items and a higher chance of Uniques
You'll keep Seasonal Leaderboard Titles and Halos throughout the Season, until they reset on the next Season. At the start of the next Season, you’ll be rewarded with an Emblem that shows the highest rank you achieved on any leaderboard in the previous season. These will be granted on first log-in to the new season.

Solo Self Found (SSF) Mode in Diablo 4
Solo Self Found is a new character state that allows you to choose to be a wanderer around Sanctuary. This gives you more options to challenge yourself in the ways you want to be challenged. When you choose the Solo Self Found state, you will be accepting the following challenges:
- SSF characters must be Seasonal only. They can also be either Normal or Hardcore.
- SSF characters cannot join parties or trade with other players.
- SSF share their own stash, currency, Paragon, and more only with other SSF characters on their account.
- Free Trial, Couch Co-Op, and Dark Citadel are unavailable for SSF characters.
- Selecting SSF for that character is permanent for the duration of the season and cannot be changed. At the end of the season, SSF characters will revert to Eternal characters with the ability to group and trade again as normal.
There will be a separate leaderboard for those who participate in the Solo Self Found mode. The filters on the leaders will only display Solo Self Found players and also Hardcore Solo Self Found players. To create a Solo Self Found character, simply select the toggle to enable it on the character creation screen.
D4 Quality of Life Updates: War Plans
War Plans have been introduced in the previous Season, Season of Reckoning. This season, War Plans has gained an update where you can seamlessly play as a party in War Plans by syncing your War Plan boards with your party. A new board will be generated to plan as a whole party. To sync your War Plans, you will need to do the following:
- Your party must all be in Temis
- The prompt New Plan will only appear if you are in a party.
When selecting a New Plan for your party, you will need to check the following:
- It costs 2 Marks of El’Druin.
- When selected, the party will see that a member of their party has initiated the vote to re-roll all War Plan boards and sync them.\
- If all players accept, the person who initiated the vote resets their board, and that exact one is then pushed down to the other players.
NOTE: Plans will be synced regardless of the War Plan level, Torment Level, or Campaign Completion, etc.
War Plans Updates
- Increased all War Plan activity XP scaling to Torment VIII+.
- Added new War Plan quests and activities for longer Helltides and Nightmare Dungeon Escalation Sigils.
- Increased the base activity XP for Infernal Hordes and Nightmare Dungeons with Escalation Sigils.
- Changed Helltide War Plan progress from opening chests to collecting 75 Cinders in Normal through Penitent and 250 Cinders in Torment I+.
Updates for the Horadric Cube and Crafting
The Horadric Cube has also been introduced as a new crafting mechanic in the previous season, Season of Reckoning. There are a few updates for the Horadric Cube in Season 14 Season of Death Awakening. One of which involves the Unique items; you can now use the Focused Reroll and Chaotic Reroll for the Unique items.
Next, the Unique Charms and Non-Ancestral Uniques will now be able to use Unique Power Reroll. There will be a small chance to provide All Resist for the Chromatic Tuning Prisms, and "The Occultist" will have the following update: Unique, Mythic Unique, and Iconic Mythic items will be able to have one undesirable affix rerolled with Enchanting.
Season 13: Season of Reckoning
Forge your Path through Sanctuary
When creating a character in Diablo IV, you choose where your battle begins: the Seasonal Realm or the Eternal Realm. Both offer the same core experience, including campaigns, class offerings, dungeons, and endgame challenges, but they diverge in meaningful ways that may shape how you play. With Lord of Hatred, you can begin fresh with a new Seasonal character or return to an existing character on the Eternal Realm to continue your journey. Choosing Eternal does not require restarting the campaign, allowing you to pick up where you left off or begin the latest campaign right away.
Seasonal Realm
Best for Players who want:
- A fresh start, offering a zero-to-hero experience
- Evolving gameplay experiences shaped through seasonal content
- Structured progression with earnable seasonal rewards
- To try a variety of new or unique builds, experiencing the game through different playstyles
- To play with friends on the Seasonal Realm
What is it?
- Limited-time themes and earnable rewards offer a refreshed journey. Each new Season starts with a new character to craft with the latest builds and newly discovered loot. When the season ends, your characters and progress carry over to the Eternal realm. Certain features, like The Tower and Leaderboards (Beta) only exist on the Seasonal Realm. Each Season guides you quickly into meaningful content. Seasonal themes and mechanics shape your journey, while Season Ranks track progress and unlock rewards as you take on greater challenges.
Progression
- Item and character progress resets on these characters each new Season, offering a zero-to-hero experience to face the latest challenges. Like the Eternal Realm, difficulty will progress at your pace, increasing with higher Torment Tiers or based on the endgame challenges you seek.
Loot & Rewards
- Seasonal Characters begin with an empty inventory, offering fresh loot and build opportunities. Core systems remain, while limited-time features add new twists. Along with Reliquaries, Seasonal Realm players can earn rewards through Season Ranks like cosmetics, currencies, and Seasonal Blessing bonuses that boost progression.
Getting Started
- Choose to create a character on the Seasonal Realm. Each Season begins at level one and resets all progression, including Paragon and Gold. Mount, cosmetics, and transmogs carry over across realms. If you’ve completed the campaign once, you can choose to jump straight into endgame Seasonal content.
Eternal Realm
Best for Players who want:
- Long-term progression with existing characters
- A persistent environment without seasonal resets
- Ongoing build refinement over time
- To play with friends on the Eternal Realm
What is it?
- The enduring world of Diablo IV where characters, builds, and loot persist without reset. Continue your journey, refine your builds over time, and play at your own pace. Experience regular core game updates, including balance changes that may impact builds, but without access to Seasonal content and rewards.
Progression
- Item and character progression is enduring, allowing you to chase perfect rolls and invest in systems like Masterworking and Tempering with no resets over time. Difficulty progression adapts to your power, letting you progress at your own pace. Higher World Tiers and endgame activities allow you to increase challenge as desired. Jump back in at any time and continue where you left off.
Loot & Rewards
- Your gear, stash, Paragon, and gold are preserved over time to continue customizing. cosmetics, transmogs, and achievements are account-wide, and will appear on both Realms. Players on the Eternal realm also get access to the Reliquary, earning cosmetic rewards as Favor Tokens unlock through gameplay.
Getting Started
- Choose your campaign state when creating a character: start from the base game, jump into an expansion, or go straight into endgame if you’ve completed the expansions already. For characters already on the Eternal Realm, jump back in to play with them any time.
Season of Reckoning Updates
Discover the new gameplay changes coming across both Seasonal and Eternal Realm.

The Skill Tree evolves for every class, introducing new ways to shape your build and refine your playstyle. Dozens of abilities have been reworked, and new choices expand how skills can grow and interact across your build. There are over 40 reworked choices and 80 additional options. With deeper customization and greater variety across all eight classes, players can forge builds that feel more distinct than ever.
Level Cap Increase and Torment Tier Extension

Power in Sanctuary reaches new heights. The level cap increases to 70, giving heroes more room to grow and push their builds further. Torment difficulty has also been extended, now rising from Torment IV to Torment XII, creating a clearer climb through increasingly deadly challenges for those who dare to test their strength.
Loot Filter, Map Overlay, & More

A new suite of quality-of-life improvements makes every journey through Sanctuary smoother and more intuitive. The Loot Filter helps you focus on the gear that matters most, while the new Map Overlay and Pathfinding features make navigating the world clearer and more seamless. Spend less time managing systems and more time doing what heroes do best—slaying demons.

Tower and Leaderboard Beta Updates

The Tower now introduces rewards for reaching new personal milestones, progressing your Season Rank objectives, and unlocking rewards as you ascend. Face a greater variety of environments, monsters, and bosses, which help keep the experience fresh run after run. The Tower has also received a substantial tuning and balance pass, helping create a consistent and fair competition for Leaderboard glory.
Tower Refresh Timing
Based off player feedback, Tower competitions now start on Thursdays following a release or patch to give the development team time to catch for any final balancing or bug fixes prior to Leaderboard start. The next Tower leaderboard opens on April 30.
Tower Updates
We’ve added new environments, monsters, and Bosses, keeping the Tower fresh and keeping you on your toes. Additionally, since there was a large balancing effort on enemies for 3.0.0, the monsters in the Tower are more meaningful threats. There’s been a large tuning pass for the score monsters grant in the Tower, and should better match the overall challenge of each enemy. Your run now officially starts after either exiting the starting circle, or 10 seconds after entering the Tower. For the wanderer that relishes in praise or admonishment, the Artificer now comments on your Tower Runs.
Tower Rewards
The Tower Beta introduces rewards for conquering personal milestones and progressing Season Rank, unlocking these as you ascend. We also have specific Milestone Rewards that can progress your Season Rank. Climb the Tower to untold heights and unlock valuable Treasures of the Artificer. These new caches include Lore Books and items with guaranteed Greater Affixes. These can only be earned by ascending the Tower, first-time completion of higher Tower Tiers earns the Artificer’s Favor.
Build Viewer
For entries on the Leaderboard, the game will now capture a snapshot of each build which ranks on the leaderboard. Select one of the top Leaderboard entries to view their build at the time of completing their Tower run.
