Diablo 4 The Butcher Strategy Writeup
The Butcher is a fearsome demon and one of the bosses in Diablo 4. He is known for his massive size, brutish strength, and insatiable hunger for human flesh. Players may encounter him randomly during their adventures in the world of Sanctuary.
When players encounter The Butcher, you will hear his iconic line "Fresh Meat", players can choose to run away and face him when he comes up again. The Butcher has a few notable attacks, apart from his basic attack where he swings his cleaver and sickle, he has a hook to pull you in when you get too far. Players will simply have to sidestep this. Another melee range attack is when he headbutts you, this is clearly indicated by raising his left leg before performing the headbutt. This will deal damage and cause a stun effect, so players will have to get behind him or sidestep to avoid the attack. Next attack is when The Butcher roars, this is his AoE attack and deals damage and a stun effect. Players will have to dodge out of the AoE to avoid the attack. Lastly, The Butcher has a charge attack where he rams into you dealing damage and stun effects. Players will need to sidestep to avoid this attack.

The Burning Butcher

The Burning Butcher is an empowered version of The Butcher introduced through Diablo 4's Infernal Hordes content. Unlike the standard random dungeon encounter, the Burning Butcher features enhanced fire-based attacks, increased aggression, and additional area denial mechanics that make the fight significantly more dangerous in higher Torment difficulties.
This variant can appear through the The Stalking Devil Infernal Offer while completing Infernal Hordes. Defeating the Burning Butcher rewards additional Burning Aether and is considered one of the highest-risk encounters during Horde runs.
The Burning Butcher retains many of the original boss mechanics, including his hook, charge, and stun attacks, but augments them with fire damage effects, burning ground attacks, and increased survivability. Due to his aggressive behavior and high damage output, players often consider him one of the deadliest Infernal Horde encounters in Diablo 4.
How to Defeat the Burning Butcher in Diablo 4
Players should prioritize Mobility, Fire Resistance, and defensive cooldown management when fighting the Burning Butcher. Avoid standing in burning ground effects for extended periods and save mobility skills to evade his Hook and Charge abilities.
High single-target damage Builds, Barrier generation, Fortify effects, and crowd-control immunity can greatly improve survivability during this encounter. In Infernal Hordes, defeating the Burning Butcher quickly is important to maximize Burning Aether gains and avoid becoming overwhelmed by additional Enemies.
