Diablo 4 Belial Strategy Writeup
Belial primarily deals Poison and Physical damage. Like other Lair bosses, he has a Stagger Bar, which, when filled, turns blue and temporarily stuns him. This creates a brief opportunity to deal heavy damage, so taking advantage of this window is key to defeating him. During the fight, Belial has several mechanics that require careful positioning and timing.
One of his main attacks is the Claw Swipe. In this attack, Belial stabs one of his claws into the platform and swipes it across. To avoid this, make sure you don’t stand on the upper side of the platform, as that's where the swipe will occur. Proper positioning is crucial for evading this attack and preventing significant damage.
Belial also uses Toxic Liquid, where he spits a stream of poison across the platform from one end to the other. To avoid being hit by the beam, stand on the opposite side from where the attack begins. The beam will spawn additional poison pools on the ground, so be prepared to reposition to a clean area as the pools appear.
Another mechanic to watch out for is the Poison AOE. Pools of poison slide across the platform from left to right, creating dangerous areas that can deal damage over time. If multiple poison pools are present, use a defensive skill or potion to mitigate damage and make sure to avoid standing in their path.
Belial will also Summon Enemies, specifically seven eyes that appear around him. One or three of these eyes will be black/inactive, and positioning yourself in front of a black eye will protect you from incoming damage. The remaining eyes will project deadly poison across the platform, so it’s important to stay aware of their positions and avoid standing in their line of fire.
Finally, Belial uses Toxic Track, where he spawns poison pools beneath your feet while stabbing the platform with his claws. These pools track your movements, meaning you need to stay on the move to avoid the forming puddles. Keep an eye on your positioning and ensure you don’t get trapped by the toxic pools as they follow you around the arena.
To defeat Belial, focus on maintaining good positioning to avoid his Claw Swipe and Toxic Liquid attacks. Keep moving during the Toxic Track to prevent the poison pools from tracking you into a corner. When the eyes are summoned, make sure you position yourself in front of the inactive ones to avoid poison damage. Lastly, stay alert for the Poison AOE pools and use defensive skills or potions as needed to mitigate their damage. With careful movement, attention to positioning, and managing the poison mechanics, you can overcome Belial’s deadly assault.
