Wavemother's Robe is a Very Rare Clothing item in Baldur's Gate 3 that grants powerful water-themed bonuses, healing effects, and utility benefits for spellcasting and support-focused characters. This armor can be obtained by completing Avenge the Drowned during Act 3 and is particularly effective for builds that benefit from healing, mobility, and elemental interactions. Clothing can be equipped to a character's body in their designated inventory slot, providing AC and sometimes special effects. Although heavier armor usually provides more protection, keep in mind they may also hinder your characters' spell casting.
Tales tell of a most wondrous fish, scales resplendent, an intricate jewel that shone beneath the sea. When it died, the Wavemother gifted its hide as a robe to her most devoted follower - and demanded she drown the sailors that killed her gem-bright fish.

Wavemother's Robe Notes & Tips for BG3
- This is one of the few methods to obtain truly unlimited healing for your party, as it continues to function outside of combat. It is recommended to carry it in your party and use its Create Water ability to regain health without needing to spend rests or resources.

BG3 Wavemother's Robe Builds and Usage
Wavemother's Robe works particularly well on support-oriented characters and spellcasters who benefit from healing effects and battlefield positioning.
- Life Domain Cleric: Excellent for healing-focused builds that frequently support allies.
- Tempest Cleric: Synergizes well with water-based effects and elemental interactions.
- Druid: Provides additional utility for support and control-focused playstyles.
- Wavemother's Robe synergizes well with Reverse Rain Cloak and Periapt of Wound Closure.
AnonymousIf you're not using this in your party, you can make some nice little Health batteries out of these using hirelings.
1. Equip hireling with Wavemother's robe and give them the Rain Dancer Qstaff.
2. Have the hireling create water on the spot they stand while NOT in the party.
3. Have the hireling cast warding bond on a character you actually use, then send the hireling back to camp.
4. Now the hireling with the gear standing on water gain 1d4 HP per turn outside of combat and you have a nice HP battery for your party character.
- You could also give a hireling the Periapt of Wound Closure so they heal 4hp every turn instead of 1d4.
- Throw water bottle to create permanent puddles if you don't have or want to use the staff, the water puddles seem to be permanent if in camp either way.
- The True Love's Caress & Embrace rings can be used to cast warding bond from the hireling. Your Party character can take off the ring after too and still keep the buff. So you can Build a straight MAX HP Hireling Build and still use this method.
AnonymousTrying to figure out if there's any way to get wave mother's robe without giving them redhammer...

AnonymousMake sure Gale wears this when he goes to speak with Mystra so she can see exactly what she's missing out on :)

AnonymousI like it. My bard looks like a drag queen, which is fitting with his make up. With Periapt of Wound Closure grabbed in Act 1 in Mountain Pass from the trader interested in Ghityanki's egg, the water always heals him 4HP. Disciple of Life does not trigger it tho, but the boots that give temporary hit points on heals do. Create/Destroy Water seems to be casted from the highest level possible, as the area is enormous. Gale, or any character built for Electric/Cold damage will welcome making enemies wet.
