Leeds United attacker Wilfried Gnonto is now said to be attracting interest from his home nation ahead of Tuesday night's deadline. Gnonto has been a curious case, bursting onto the scene at Elland Road and once attracting interest from some big clubs.
Leeds were not willing to sell at the time, and so he missed out on a big move, but since then, the Italy international has been nowhere near his best, and he spent much of last season on the bench. Gnonto made 23 Premier League appearances, but only four of those were starts, and he is yet to play a part this season. Things could change, but it does not look as though the 22-year-old is at the forefront of Daniel Farke's plans for this season.
Whether Leeds will consider selling him ahead of the window is another question, but according to Gianluca Di Marzio, Fiorentina are showing an interest in Gnonto ahead of the deadline, and negotiations are said to be ongoing.
It's unclear whether it is a loan or permanent deal that is being discussed, and we don't know how much Leeds would ask for to sell their Italy international. The Whites only paid £3.8million to sign the forward back in 2022, but he has obviously significantly grown in value since then, and he is still only 22 years of age.
Leeds do have two right-wingers aside from Gnonto in Welsh duo Daniel James and summer signing Harry Wilson, so they could allow Gnonto to leave on the right kind of deal, but it may leave Daniel Farke feeling a little short, given he would have four wingers in total, and it would usually be advisable to carry five in case of injury. A new winger could be sourced to replace Gnonto, and Chelsea's Mykhailo Mydrik and others have been linked.

Farke on Leeds transfer hopes
Asked this week if he expects Leeds to meet all of his transfer wishes, Farke said: "Not at all, because I mentioned before there was never a transfer window when I got all my wishes and all the players that I want. But carefully optimistic that we have also a good ending to the window.
“I'm pleased with our signings so far, pleased with my group so far. But we know that there are definitely also a few positions where we can improve and have to improve our squad for a long season, and this is also what our supporters, what the club, what Leeds United deserves - that we try our best until the last second to give ourselves the best possible squad.”
