Where to Find Ultimate Sakapatate Boss in The Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

From the Giant Bell Alley - Ancient Sanctuary checkpoint, go up the ramp to the left and follow the main path. Once you reach an open area, a cutscene will play where Tropa is announcing your arrival. It will call the Ultimate Sakapatate on the field. After the cutscene, it will prompt the fight against Ultimate Sakapatate.

This encounter is optional if you pursue Karatom's questline. He will ask you to find a Mushroom that can help buff the Ultimate Sakapatate. Upon finding it, give the mushroom to the Gestral, and the young Gestral will ask Gustave to fight it in a 1v1 battle. If you fail to win, you can speak to Karatom for a rematch until you beat it. You must do this with Gustave in the party or the quest chain is incompletable.

From the Tainted Sanctuary checkpoint in The Monolith, follow the trails of the gestral dolls and red flowers on the ground. Defeat the enemies on the path while following this trail. Once you see an area with a tall stone in the middle, go around it to find the Ultimate Sakapatate.

From the Warrior's Route Expedition Flag, simply approach the open field to watch a brief cutscene reintroducing the Ultimate Sakapatate.

Ultimate Sakapatate Fight Strategy

The Best Tips for Ultimate Sakapatate:

Ultimate Sakapatate can perform a Partner Attack where it will swing its weapon to attack a target. This attack has a varied movement; the first 2 swings can be avoided with a Parry, while the third and final swing can be avoided by pressing Jump. This move also gives you a limited vision of the Ultimate Sakapatate, especially if he still has a shield up, which can make counterattacking more difficult.

The first thing you should be doing when you get your turn is to shoot with Free Aim shots at the shield and force the Ultimate Sakapatate to lose balance. This will reveal the weak point of the boss, which is the right shoulder joint. Once you see the weak point, continuously shoot it, and if you're lucky, you can break this shoulder and force the Ultimate Sakapatate to continue the battle without its right arm and shield.

Once you get rid of the shield of the Ultimate Sakapatate, its next move is to unleash its full power. This will consume one turn, but on the next attack, it can use the Electric Attack where it will launch an Electric Ball towards the party. One ball will hit one target at a time, which deals about 45-90 damage if you get hit. As the fight continues, try to use your Fire Damage as much as possible, because Ultimate Sakapatate is weak to it. For Maelle, you can attack with Spark to inflict Fire Damage, which also applies Burn after the move. You can follow up with other Fire Damage from other characters.

Ultimate Sakapatate Attacks & Counters

Attack Description Counter
Partner Attack Using the decapitated body of its partner, the Ultimate Sakapatate will swing its weapon at a target. This boss will swing its weapon twice, pause for a bit, then swing for the third time. As Ultimate Sakapatate approaches its target, get ready to hit Parry for the first two swings. The timing for this can be tricky since it will swing the arms from a different side each time. For the third swing, it can only be avoided by pressing "Jump" as soon as Ultimate Sakapatate spins its body around.
Full Power Ultimate Sakapatate will swing its weapon around and consume 1 turn. It will not attack during this move. No counterattack available.
Electric Attack Ultimate Sakapatate will assume a position by lowering its body on the ground. After a brief pause, it will launch an Electric Ball toward a target 3 times. The target will change per hit. Look at the projectile of the Electric Ball and hit Parry right before it lands on top of the character to nullify the damage.
