The noticeable thing about this boss is that it has glowing hair growing from its back. The Chromatic Bourgeon can also spit Miasma that applies Exhaust to a target.

Where to Find Chromatic Bourgeon Boss in The Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
- Location: The Monolith
From the Tainted Waters checkpoint in The Monolith, defeat the enemies on the main path and go to the large anchor in the middle. Take the path on the left through the tall vines. From the edge of the cliff, take the grapples across. Once you reach the golden grassy vines, approach the Chromatic Bourgeon straight ahead.

Chromatic Bourgeon Fight Strategy
Core Strategies
- Prepare for the Eat Mechanic The fight begins with the Chromatic Bourgeon randomly swallowing one of your party members, taking them out of the battle temporarily. Ensure you have at least two reliable damage dealers in the party so you're not left helpless if your main DPS gets eaten.
- Break to Release Swallowed Allies While a character is swallowed, focus on filling the boss's Break gauge. Breaking and stunning the Bourgeon will force it to spit out the trapped ally immediately, letting you return to full party strength.
- Handle Exhaust Status The boss can inflict Exhaust, which prevents affected characters from gaining AP. Bring ways to cleanse it (such as Cleansing Tint) or prepare to play around reduced AP gain on impacted team members.
- Dodge the Attack Patterns
- Miasma Spit (4 projectiles): Dodge each miasma projectile when it is about halfway through its downward arc.
- 4-Hit Combo: Dodge the initial head slam as it comes down, followed by three quick arm slams.
- 5-Hit Combo: Dodge the first two fast arm strikes, then dodge the next three in succession when the other arm starts slamming.

Only the final target who parries the attack will counter. This attack is around a medium difficulty due to its easy parries and low damage but applying exhaust. | To counter this attack you can either dodge or parry. It is recommended to parry this attack as it is very easily readable and filling the break bar of the Bourgeon is important. |
