There are four different vendors available in AC Shadows: Food Vendors, Gear Vendors, Ornament Vendors, and Port Traders. Each of these four vendors offer different types of items, including revealing how to get certain quest items, and gear that will be helpful in beating this game, building out your Hideout, gathering resources, finding crafting materials, and much more. It is essential that you know how and where to find vendors on the map if you want to do well.
Where to Find Vendors in Assassins Creed Shadows
You can find all four different vendors throughout the world. Each of the four different vendors are found in various major cities and towns in the nine regions of the map. Oftentimes, these vendor locations will make sense for their respective types of items. For instance, the Port Trader is only found where there is a major port. That said, almost every single civilization, town, and city you visit in the nine AC Shadows regions will have a vendor NPC of some kind for you to trade items with.
What Are the Types of Vendors?
There are four types of vendors in total that you will find in the world in ACS: Gear Vendors, Food Vendors, Ornament Vendors, and Port Traders. Each of the vendors sells a different type of item, such as Hideout items, crafting materials, or even food rations. It is important to know the difference between the four vendors because some may not have the item you are looking for and, worse, some cities don’t have all four types available there; just one or two vendors.
What Does the Gear Vendor Sell?
Gear Vendors are the only vendors you can find on the map that provide equipment such as weapons and armor. There are 29 Gear Vendors scattered across Japan's nine major regions and they will be your main source of on-level randomized gear.Gear Vendors do not sell unique gear and, instead, provide the player with a way to obtain randomized gear on-par with their current player level. The highest rarity tier available from Gear Vendors is Epic, and the vendor's wares will change depending on which character you are currently playing. They also allow the player to quickly restock on Rations or ammo.
What Does the Food Vendor Sell?
The Food Vendors are the only vendors you can find on the map that provide worthwhile meals and food items that will help you with being able to recover quickly in battle. There are 16 Food Vendors scattered across Japan's nine major regions and they will be your main source of food so you can survive and win battles against the various enemies and targets.Once you know where to find a Food Vendor in AC Shadows, you will be able to obtain rations to heal yourself in battle and even local dishes. Rations, in particular, are essential to progressing through the main story against the tough targets you will face. That said, out of the four main vendor types, Food Vendors are the least in number. As such, you will need to know where all of the Food Vendors locations are if you want to be able to replenish your rations easily.
What Does the Ornament Vendor Sell?
Ornament Vendors in Assassins Creed Shadows provide an easy way to obtain items related to the Hideout. There is an Ornament Vendor in many major cities and towns. The items they sell, while pricey, will open up many options for you in your progression.
In addition, the inventory of Ornament Vendors vary from one NPC to another in the world. Some may have certain horse designs for sale to grab, while another may have a different type of item, possibly even related to a quest. The Tea Bowls quest items can often be found from the different Ornament Vendors. If you want to complete this quest for the NPC Rikyu, you will want to visit the various Ornament Vendors in the world.
What Does the Port Trader Sell?
Port Tradersin Assassins Creed Shadows provide an easy way to obtain vital materials and Hideout resources. There is a Port Trader in many major cities and towns. The resources they sell, while pretty expensive, will open up many options for you in your progression.
It is worth knowing that the name “Port Trader” isn’t just for show. These NPC vendors only appear in cities and towns that have major ports of some kind near the water, such as the ocean, river, or a major lake. Unfortunately, this does mean that there are some regions that go without a single Port Trader to be found.
In addition, the inventory of Port Traders vary from one NPC to another in the world. Some may have certain resources for sale in a limited supply, while another may have a different type of resource.
