Port Traders are one of the four main vendor types in Assassins Creed Shadows that you will find in the open-world setting of feudal Japan. There are 21 Port Traders scattered across Japan's nine major regions and they will be your main source of various resources and materials that will be helpful in your journey. If you are looking for where to find Port Traders, how they work, and what to buy from them, you’re in the right place.
What Is a Port Trader?
Port Traders in Assassins Creed Shadows provide an easy way to obtain vital materials and Hideout resources. There is a Port Trader in many major cities and towns. The resources they sell, while pricey, will open up many options for you in your progression.
It is worth knowing that the name “Port Trader” isn’t just for show. These NPC vendors only appear in cities and towns that have major ports of some kind near the water, such as the ocean, river, or a major lake. Unfortunately, this does mean that there are some regions that go without a single Port Trader to be found.
In addition, the inventory of Port Traders vary from one NPC to another in the world. Some may have certain resources for sale in a limited supply, while another may have a different type of resource.

How Seasonal Updates Work
Every 90 minutes, the in-game season will change, which also brings an update to all of the vendors’ inventories, including, crucially, the Port Traders. You can track the current season, as well as how long is left until the next season, by looking at the compass in the top-right of the Map in the menu.
Whenever a new season arrives, all of the Port Traders will restock their inventories for you to browse through. So, if you happen to buy out all of the stock for a particular resource or crafting material, you can always come back in the next season to resupply. This makes grinding for Hideout resources and upgrade materials for the Forge easier.
