Armor is a crucial component of a character’s equipment in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, consisting of light armor for Naoe and combat armor for Yasuke. These armor sets define their playstyles, offering agility and stealth for Naoe, while providing defense and durability for Yasuke.

Naoe's Light Armor vs. Yasuke's Armor

• Naoe’s Light Armor: Designed for stealth, agility, and assassination efficiency. This armor enhances movement speed, reduces enemy detection, and improves the effectiveness of tools and status effects.
• Yasuke’s Armor: Built for resilience, strength, and endurance, providing damage resistance, posture stability, and adrenaline regeneration for prolonged battles.

Each armor piece follows the gear rarity system, allowing for upgrades and engravings to further customize perks and abilities.

Customization & Upgrades

Armor can be upgraded at the Forge in the Hideout to enhance its effectiveness in combat.

• Engravings: Modify perks to boost stealth, assassination damage, and tool effectiveness for Naoe, or to increase durability, counterattack efficiency, and adrenaline regeneration for Yasuke.
• Transmog System: Allows players to alter the appearance of armor while retaining its stats, enabling full visual customization.

Playstyle Synergy

Armor plays a vital role in defining a character’s combat effectiveness, and selecting the right perks enhances their strengths:

• Stealth-Oriented (Naoe): Reduces movement noise, increases crouched movement speed, and enhances assassination damage.
• Tool-Focused (Naoe): Enhances tool capacity, tool damage, and status effect buildup from Kunai, Smoke Bombs, or Shurikens.
• Tanky & Defensive (Yasuke): Maximizes damage resistance, increases health regeneration, and improves posture defense for extended survivability.
• Adrenaline & Offense (Yasuke): Increases adrenaline gain, improves counterattack efficiency, and enhances critical hit chance for a more aggressive combat style.
