How to Enter Bubbly Basin in Pokopia

Pokopia's first DLC as part of the Expansion Pass is the Bubbly Basin, an underwater world with new Pokemon, building materials, habitats, plants, and more. There are a few small missions you have to complete to get in, and we've laid out all the steps you need to take to get your feet wet as you start on this new expedition in Pokopia!

While there was also a free update that added the Dive ability on the same day, to access Bubbly Basin, you will need to have purchased the pass.

How to Get to Bubbly Basin in Pokopia

Step #1: Find Professor Tangrowth

When you first open the game with the Pokopia Expansion Pass installed, you will get a notification that Professor Tangrowth wants to talk with you about something in Bleak Beach. Head there by walking to the East gate of Withered Wasteland, or by using the Go Home button on your Pokedex if you've built a home in the region.

You need to know Jump and Surf and have Bleak Beach at Level 5 if you haven't already done so.

Step #2: Learn Dive

Everyone who has Pokopia is able to learn the Dive ability from Manaphy. To do this, go to the island Professor Tangrowth pointed out to find Manaphy's location. Follow their missions, and by the end of it you'll have the new ability to Dive down into the water anywhere.

Step #3: Talk to Popplio

After you learn to Dive, head back over to the Pokemon Center to talk with Professor Tangrowth, and you'll see Popplio nearby. Popplio asks you about Bleak Beach and, after learning that you restored it, asks for help restoring Bubbly Basin. Although Professor Tangrowth wants to come see the world, they have no way of being underwater like Ditto does, so you and Popplio will go solo.

When Professor Tangrowth mentions you'll need a gate to get there, just like the other regions, Popplio says they saw a structure like that, and the camera goes to the water North of the Pokemon Center. After the conversation, Popplio will follow you. Go out to the water where the camera showed and Dive right in:

• Keep going North, and you'll see a bunch of rocks coming out of the water and a little paved area leading down below the rocks. This is where the gate is.

• To open the gate, go up to it and press A.

• The gate will open, and Popplio will introduce you to Bubbly Basin, where you can work together to bring the beautiful underwater town back to life for the underwater Pokemon.
