The Splash Whale Hunt is one of Heartopia's limited-time underwater collection events, rewarding players who explore every corner of Whalefall Canyon. Each day, it introduces a brand new colored Splash Whale hidden somewhere in the sea. Taking a photo of the whale completes part of the event, while finding its matching bubble unlocks a decorative furniture version for your home.
Since there’s a new whale every day, it can be easy to miss one or forget where earlier locations were. This guide covers every Splash Whale location currently available, along with the matching bubble locations so you can complete your collection and win rewards in Heartopia.
Updated on July 27, 2026, by Usama Ali: Whale Hunt started alongside the Call of Whales event in Heartopia. From July 11, players could find and photograph one whale cleverly hidden within Whale Canyon to unlock the next one the following day. There were 16 whales in total, and now all of them can be photographed. We've updated this guide to include all locations and added a video showcasing every Splash Whale and where to find them.
How to Find All Splash Whales
The Splash Whale Hunt becomes available right after you unlock the underwater region in Whalefall Canyon. During the event, Naughty introduces a special collection challenge that asks players to photograph hidden Splash Whales scattered throughout the underwater map.
Simply taking a picture is only half of the objective. Every whale also has a nearby floating shell bubble that can be collected to unlock that whale as a placeable home decoration.

Whale Bubble |
|---|---|---|---|
Light Blue Splash Whale (Day 1) |
The Light Blue Splash Whale is found on the second floor of the D.G. Expedition Base Camp. Swim outside the building and look toward the upper window where the whale is sitting. |
Once you've taken its picture, turn to the right with your face to the window. Swim toward the nearby pink coral formations to find the matching Light Blue Splash Whale bubble floating nearby. |
Green Splash Whale Location (Day 2) |
The Green Splash Whale is perched on top of the underwater portal. |
As soon as you deep dive into the ocean, turn around and look above the portal entrance. Snap a picture before swimming behind the portal, where the Green Splash Whale bubble is. This one’s easy to miss, so keep your eyes peeled at the entrance instead of looking back. |
Orange Splash Whale Location (Day 3) |
The Orange Splash Whale can be found on the ground floor inside the D.G. Expedition Base Camp. Look between the entrance and the staircase where it rests among the coral decorations. |
After taking the photo, simply turn around. The Orange Splash Whale bubble is floating right behind you. |
Yellow Splash Whale Location (Day 4) |
The Yellow Splash Whale pops up inside the bright yellow coral north of the base camp near the area where players meet Oliver for the first time during the underwater storyline. |
The matching bubble can be found west of the base camp. Swim around the rocky seamounts until you see the floating shell bubble. If you’re already completing Oliver’s quests, you’ll practically find it along the way. |
Purple Splash Whale Location (Day 5) |
The Purple Splash Whale is sitting in the base camp courtyard beside the table where Atara usually stands. |
After taking your whale photo, walk to Azure near the fence and continue swimming into the kelp behind the camp. You’ll find the Purple Splash Whale bubble hidden among the kelp, just waiting to be collected. |
Olivine Splash Whale Location (Day 6) |
The Olivine Splash Whale can be found inside the transparent balcony attached to the base camp. Keep swimming upward until you reach the balcony and photograph the whale. |
Once you’re done, stay nearby because the Olivine Splash Whale bubble floats around the balcony itself. You won't need to travel anywhere else for the collectible. |
Grey Splash Whale Location (Day 7) |
The Grey Splash Whale can be found on the table between Azure and Annie inside the base camp. |
Once you've taken the required picture, swim behind the tallest tower at the camp. You'll find an alcove tucked into the rocks where the Grey Splash Whale bubble is floating. |
Cyan Splash Whale Location (Day 8) |
The Cyan Splash Whale is hidden behind Annie near the underwater base camp. Swim past Annie into the blue coral area to find the whale resting there. |
After taking your picture, continue swimming toward the nearby rock formation on the left. The Cyan Splash Whale bubble floats in a continuous loop around these rocks, so wait a few seconds if you don't immediately spot it. |
Pink Splash Whale Location (Day 9) |
The Pink Splash Whale is found along Coral Way just before entering Whalefall. Look for a pink coral ledge positioned in the center of the narrow Coral Way passage. The whale blends into the surrounding coral, making it one of the hardest to spot. |
After photographing it, swim upward to the ledge directly behind the whale on the eastern side. The matching shell bubble circles this platform in a loop until collected. |
Azure Splash Whale Location (Day 10) |
Found on the Blue Coral, just off the northern corner of Coral Way. |
Found on Blue Coral, just past the whale on its right-hand side. |
Royal Purple Splash Whale Location (Day 11) |
Above the blue-purple coral near the sealed bubble opening. |
Located in the Whalefall, near the small jellyfish coffee stall. |
Navy Splash Whale Location (Day 12) |
On the purple coral near Whalefall. |
At one of the stone gates near the whale skeleton. |
White Splash Whale Location (Day 13) |
Inside the eye of the whale skeleton. |
Inside the body of the whale skeleton. |
Black Splash Whale Location (Day 14) |
Placed at a Coral near the Jellyfish Cave. |
Also found inside the Jellyfish Cave. |
Green Peach Splash Whale Location (Day 15) |
At the Jellyfish Cave entrance at a coral. |
Inside the Jellyfish Cave. |
Iridescent Splash Whale Location (Day 16) |
On the back path of Jellyfish Cave. |
Wait for a moment, it'll show up on the path. If it is not immediately apparent, backtrack slightly and you will find it nearby. |
If a newly released whale isn't showing up, check whether the weekly reset has occurred. Some daily whales only become available after the new event day begins.
FAQs
Why can't I find today's Splash Whale?
New whales unlock one per event day. If the latest whale isn't appearing, your server may not have reached the next daily reset yet. To check your server and find out when the reset time is, make sure to read our guide on When Do Dailies and Shops Reset in Heartopia?
Can I collect older Splash Whales later?
Yes. As long as the event is still active, previously released Splash Whales remain available, allowing you to catch up if you missed earlier days. We tried catching all 10 today and had no issues whatsoever, so even if you try this on the 15th day, you'll be fine and still get the rewards. However, we'd suggest not missing out on this quest since it's pretty easy, and you get to keep the cool furniture items.
