Once you make your home for the first time in Pokemon Pokopia and raise the Withered Wasteland's Environment Level to three, you can speak to Tangrowth to get a new task: to rebuild the crumbled Wasteland Pokemon Center. The first step to getting the construction started is to purchase the Pokemon Center Rebuilding Kit from the PC shop for 1000 Life Coins.
Pokemon Pokopia Day One Update Patch Notes Revealed
Pokemon Pokopia releases a day one patch that will be required for players to access a specific portion of the game at launch.
How to Rebuild the Wasteland Pokemon Center in Pokopia
After buying the building kit, you can interact with the little box in front of the Pokopia Pokemon Center to see the materials you'll need for the construction:
- 20 Lumber (use Scyther and Small Logs to get these).
- 20 Stones (Pick these up from the ground).
- 10 Leaves (Use Cut on Tall Grass).
- 10 Vine Rope (Use Cut on hanging vines by cliffs).
However, before you can use the materials for the project, you're going to have to find eight Pokemon to help out, and one of these Pokemon has to have the Bulldoze speciality. You'll also need Timburr for their Build speciality, a Scyther for their Chop specialty, and then five other Pokemon.
Now, where are you supposed to find a Bulldoze Pokemon? Well, the Pokemon in question is an Onix.
Where to Find a Bulldoze Specialty Pokemon in Pokopia?
Onix, Where are You?
You'll need to enter the cave system just a little northwest of the Pokemon Center. You'll see a breakable rock wall near the block that was leaking water (if you've already broken it, the cave entrance for Onix will be very close to the edge of the river).
Break the wall, go inside, and follow the path laid out in front of you. Keep breaking the brown basic rocks with Rock Smash until you reach an open-ish area. From there, start breaking more rocks on the right side of the wall. Once you get close enough, you'll start seeing a Pokemon crying out for help with a speech bubble. Onix will be stuck behind some hard rocks that cannot be broken with Rock Smash.
Next, go ahead and speak to Professor Tangrowth. In our game, he wanted us to first take him to the southern part of the area by the ocean. He'll want you to examine the tower down there, which will kick off the Team Initiation Challenge.
Next, speak to Tangrowth back in the main Wasteland area, and he will figure out that we need to make it rain in order to soften the blocks keeping Onix trapped in the cave.
You'll have to befriend a Slowpoke by the ocean in order to do this.
How to Find Slowpoke in Pokopia and Make It Rain
To get Slowpoke to show up, head over to where you found Magikarp (in the southern area by the fishing rod). Place a bunch of tall grass with Leafage by the ocean to create the Seaside Tall Grass habitat and wait a bit for the Pokemon to show up.
Speak to Slowpoke after befriending him and tell him to follow you back to Tangrowth. At this point, you will learn the recipe for Wooden Steps. Slowpoke can't jump like other Pokemon (and they move very slowly), so you have to make a path for them all the way to the Pokemon Center.
If he ends up getting tired, it means the ground is cracked and needs to be soaked with Water Gun to make it easier for themto walk to the PC.
You can craft the Wooden Steps at the nearby crafting table using Lumber.
How to Increase Humidity for Slowpoke in Pokopia (Rain Dance Site)
Once Slowpoke finally makes it to the base, speak to Slowpoke to get the next part of the mission started. Slowpoke needs the humidity to be high so that he can make a big yawn to make it rain. There are a couple of things you can do to create humidity in the area, but you will eventually have to do a Rain Dance with Squirtle. So, you just need to keep talking with Squirtle and completing their requests until they bring up the rain ceremony. In the meantime, you can do the following to increase humidity:
- Spray water all over the floor.
- Create water sources such as ponds and lakes.
- Plant trees and flowers (use Bulbasaur to make them grow faster).

Bulbasaur will also have an idea to help Slowpoke out, which is to make the Field of Flowers habitat. If you don't have Wildflower Seeds, you can buy some from the PC shop for 50 Life Coins.
Once Squirtle is satisfied, they will bring up the Rain Dance party. To make it happen, you'll need to get a plate with food on it and place it near two Castform Weather Charms. Go ahead and speak to Professor Tangrowth about the party, and they'll mention that there are two Weather Charms inside the cave where you started the game and met Tangrowth for the first time. Once inside the cave, examine the wheelbarrow to pick up the items.
Now, you need to create the Rain Dance Site habitat close to the base. To create it, craft a Wooden Plate (you'll need Lumber), and then place it on the ground with some fruit on it. Next, place the two Castform dolls on the sides of the plate, on a flat wall. First, place two blocks, then attach the dolls.
Once the habitat has been set up, talk to Squirtle and have them follow you to it. Speak to the Pokemon again once they're in the Rain Dance Site, and then they'll start the dance. Next, speak to Slowpoke again and have it perform its yawn to make it rain. However, the rain doesn't last long enough to soften the blocks around Onix.
The group will hear a loud noise coming from the ocean to the south, so run over there to find the legendary Pokemon, Kyogre. To speak to it, put some blocks down to create a path on the bridge. Kyogre will make it rain super hard, and now, you can go back into the cave and use Rock Smash on the blocks in front of Onix.
Clear a path for it, lead it back to the Pokemon Center, and speak to Tangrowth. You'll now be able to rebuild the Pokemon Center. The game will tell you that you'll need to wait a full day for it to finish, but you can just change the clock in your Switch settings to make the time go by faster.
