There are 300 different Pokemon for players to befriend in Pokemon Pokopia, many of which have special skills and abilities that you can utilize. With this in mind, there may be times when you want to track down a Pokemon for a specific task, only to find that they're not where you thought they were going to be.
All Pokemon Pokopia Habitats and Requirements (Complete Habitat Dex List)
There are 213 habitats in Pokemon Pokopia. Here's how to make them all.
Although friendly Pokemon do show up on the mini-map, there's no way to switch to a full-screen view. Even if a full-screen map existed, it would still be tricky to spot a Pokemon's icon when other 'mons surround it. Thankfully, Pokemon Pokopia includes a search function that makes it easy to find missing Pokemon in just a few simple steps.
How to Search for Missing Pokemon in Pokopia
If you can't find a Pokemon on the mini-map, you should open up your Pokedex and then hover the cursor over the Pokemon you want to find. Next, hit the + button on the right Joy-Con and choose Yes. After doing so, if you talk to any of the other Pokemon you've befriended, they'll ask if you're looking for somebody, and choosing Yes again will usually cause them to turn and face the direction of the Pokemon that you're looking for. Walking in a straight line in that direction will take you straight to them, although you can always stop and ask other Pokemon as you start to get closer if you're having trouble pinpointing their exact location.
Step-by-Step Instructions to Search for a Lost Pokemon in Pokopia
- Open the Pokedex and place the cursor over the Pokemon that you want to find.
- Push the + button and then choose "Yes".
- Talk to any other Pokemon and choose "Yes".
- Walk in the direction that they turn and face.
- If the Pokemon directs you toward the missing Pokemon's home, use some Honey there to make it show up.
Occasionally, the Pokemon that you're looking for will have temporarily left the area, in which case, you'll need to head over to their home and use some Honey, which can be found in flower patches. If you can't remember where the Pokemon's home is, that's okay, as you can once again use the Search function. This time, however, the Pokemon you ask will point you toward the missing Pokemon's home rather than its current location. It's worth noting, though, that you'll only be able to search for a Pokemon (or its home) if you're in the area where it lives.
The search function can be incredibly useful during construction projects when you need a Pokemon with a specific skill. You may also need it to find Slowpoke during the mission where you rebuild the Wasteland Pokemon Center, as it has a habit of going off route during the part where you need to clear a path back to Professor Tangrowth.
