Manchester United are eyeing a move to sign Newcastle United defender Lewis Hall on deadline day.
The Red Devils have been in the market for a new left-back this summer as they look to find someone to provide competition for Luke Shaw.
Their focus with reinforcements has predominantly been on bringing in new midfielders, but on the final day of the window, it'll be interesting to see if United make another move.
Shaw has struggled at times already since the Premier League has returned, so it wouldn't be a surprise if they brought in fresh competition.
Convincing Newcastle to part ways with Hall will be the most difficult task, as he is undoubtedly a key player for the Magpies.
It looks as though it would take a hefty bid from the Red Devils, particularly on deadline day.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, Manchester United are in for Newcastle's Lewis Hall on the final day of the transfer window.
It is claimed that it would take a bid of more than £75 million for Newcastle to even consider allowing Hall to depart on the final day.
United do have alternative options for the left-back position, but Hall does appear to have been their number one target over the last few months.
As we edge closer to the deadline, it feels increasingly unlikely that United will be able to secure the signature of Hall.
If United are unable to get in a new left-back, it remains to be seen what other positions they could look to strengthen.
Quiet end to the window for United?
It does feel like it is set to be a quiet end to the summer transfer window for Manchester United.
They've now completely solved their midfield problems after bringing in Carlos Baleba, Youri Tielemans, and Andrey Santos.
Maybe the addition of another attacker wouldn't be a huge surprise, with Matheus Cunha playing as a central striker recently.
Joshua Zirkzee has been heavily linked with a move away from the club, which could open the door for another forward to come in.
There are certainly other clubs who are likely to be busier than United, but they can bring a surprise to their supporters.
