The Outer Worlds 2 Endpoint's End Quest Objectives

  • Investigate the Monastery Anchorhold
Marisol has tracked the missing research to Alexandra Monastery's anchorhold, in Golden Ridge. Find out who checked it out and where they are now.
  • Confront Anchorite Brun at Point Obviation
Anchoress Brun's trail leads to a long-abandoned research lab on Eden. Find her and determine how to squelch pursuit of Bujold's research.
  • Follow up with Seer Bujold
Anchoress Brun mentioned that Seer Bujold is not only present at Point Obviation, but is presently overseeing an experiment tied into her research on the third floor.
    • Covertly tamper with all elements of the experiment.
    • Return to Anais
    • Talk to Anais
  • Subtly Modify the Experiment Settings
Seer Bujold asked you to adjust the delicate settings of experiment at the four stations on the second floor in an inobvious manner. This should keep Anchoress Brun from detecting the sabotage and dissuade others from following Anais' dangerous research further.
    • You modified the Alta Vitae sample.
    • You scrambled the macrowave readings.
    • You altered the zyranium flow settings.
    • You adjusted the N-Ray failsafe.
  • Deal with Anchorite Brun
Seer Bujold believes the safest way to discredit the research forever is to undermine Anchoress Brun's faith in the science behind it. Marisol suggests carefully killing her and making it look like an accident. Both options require finesse, as the continued research may end the galaxy.
  • Haphazardly Murder Anchoress Brun
You were discovered! The only option remaining is to kill Anchorite Brun. Find her, kill her, and wistfully hope that your actions don't lead to the galaxy ending someday. What do these Order eggheads know about the future anyway, right?!

Full Endpoint's End Quest Walkthrough

Starting Endpoint's End

To start Endpoint's End, you must first finish The Midpoint to the Endpoint, then pass the time by doing quests or other activities until Marisol is at the disembarkation zone in The Incognito and asks to talk to you. Speak with her to find out that she has a lead on the identity of the person continuing Anais's research in Winter's Grasp. Select the option, "Didn't you say her research could destroy the universe? Probably shouldn't let that happen," to continue the conversation, and she will suggest that you go to Golden Ridge. You may continue talking to her about her relationship with Anais, or you can end the conversation to continue with the quest.

Fast travel to Matriarch's Mercy in Golden Ridge, then use the lift at the back of the main building to get to Alexandra Monastery. Head to the anchorhold by following the quest marker, going inside the monastery, to find a murdered Anchorite. Marisol will suggest you find a way inside to gather clues about what happened, and then tell her there were two Anchorites earlier, not one.

Investigating A Murder

Go through the vent on the left to enter the chamber, then examine Anchoress Anya Chao's body leaning on the chalkboard and the datapad containing her private journal. Then, read the paper attached to the chalkboard on the left side to find A Scholarly Reprimand of the Basar Regime. Walk to the stairs to trigger a conversation with Marisol, then discuss the information you found with her. Select all of the dialogue options to explore every angle for Anchoress Chao's murder, then ask her if she has drawn any conclusions. Exhaust all dialogue options with Marisol, and then she will claim that the research is already out there and that you need to find a way to stop people from continuing Anais's research. Once the conversation ends (+1,296 XP), fast travel to The Incognito, then set your destination to Point Obviation in Eden.

Confrontation with Anchoress Brun

Follow the path to the main building of Point Obviation, and you will be confronted by Exemplar Grace SouthworthSub-Archivist Gernsback will recognize Marisol, and he will give you access inside Point Obviation. Choose the option, "Maybe if you can call off your guard dog first," and Southworth will let you proceed. Use the lift to the east, then head inside the main building. Go up the stairs, then use the lift at the end to reach the 4th floor to Anchoress Brun.

Head north beyond the platform and talk to Anchoress Brun inside her chamber. She will then ask if Marisol would like to join them, and you will be given several dialogue choices:

  • Re-enlist? What are you talking about — restarting Marisol's department?
  • We came here after finding Anchorite Chao's body. And your manifesto posted nearby.
  • Let me iust soy this new cell is MUCH nicer than your old one.
  • You seem pretty unfazed by Anchoress Chao's death. Haven't mentioned her once.

Select the last option, and Anchoress Brun will mention that they argued and that Anchoress Chao stumbled and fell badly. Brun will then tell you that they honor Chao's death, and it underlines the importance of their endeavors. Brun will ask if you read the disputation, and what you think about it. Select the option, "Your new stance seems like it'll leave corpses in its wake," and Brun will state that their sect aims to end human suffering. Then, you will have to choose between the following dialogue choices:

  • How did you end up here from the Monastery? Exemplar Southworth was involved, yes?
  • Why choose such a remote location?
  • Do you have research from Seer Bujold that was locked up at Winter's Grasp?

Select the first dialogue option, and she will say that Southworth's visits to the Anchorhold and the research she showed Brun were thought-provoking. Anchoress Brun will then mention that Anais is in the facility, overseeing an experiment. You will be given more dialogue choices:

  • How unexpected! She is always such a surprise.
  • You trust her to assist? She hasn't been in a proper lab for decades.
  • How long has Seer Bujold been working here?
  • What's this experiment she's helping with?

Choose the third dialogue choice, and Brun will mention that they reached out to Anais and that she joined them immediately. Ask Anchoress Brun if Anais is downstairs, and she will give you access to the elevator that leads to her. Use the lift again, but this time, head to the Research Observation on the third floor.

Reunion with Anais Bujold

Exit the lift, then access the terminal first and read all the files. Then, talk to Anais to continue with the Endpoint's End. She will then reveal that she needs Marisol's help, and you may ask her what she is doing in Point Obviation. She then says that she wants to derail the experiment so that no one would consider continuing it, then you may select the dialogue option, "Of course, we'll help. Unconditionally," to progress. You can also ask what's at stake, and both Marisol and Anais will explain the situation to you. If you ask what needs to be done, she will then explain the test to you, and that you must subtly tweak the settings of each station before the experiment is initiated. You will be given the Maintenance Hatch Access Key, and the conversation will end.

DISCLAIMER: In the next section, you do not need to modify all four research stations. Each station offers different options for modification, with the BEST OPTION only slightly affecting the experiment to sabotage the result. Performing multiple noticeable options will alert Anchoress Brun, as she will find that the experiment has been tampered with and will refuse to stop her research operations.

Sabotaging the N-Ray Settings

Use the Maintenance Hatch Access Key on the hatch by the southwestern corner of the room, then navigate through the vent to reach the room on the northwest. Drop down while avoiding the patrolling guards' attention, which will automatically fail the quest if you get caught by them. In the room, you can find a note on top of the table in the north that states the failsafe measures in the vents can be disabled and will not be detected in the results. Head back up the vent, then disable the power on the western switch, turning its light red (BEST OPTION). You may still proceed with disabling the second switch, but it will be noticeable in the results of the experiment.

endpoints end companion quest the outer worlds 2 wiki guide 20 endpoints end companion quest the outer worlds 2 wiki guide 21

Once the power is disabled and the switch is red, head back down to the room and examine the N-Ray Settings Lock on the right side of the purple tubes. Select the option to lock the N-Ray settings, and the N-Ray settings will be subtly modified for the experiment.

Sabotaging the Alta Vitae Element

Head back up to the vent, then drop down to the southwestern room to reach the room containing the Alta Vitae Element. Pick up the Unconfigured Alta Vitae Sample on top of the table in the middle, then the Preconfigured Alta Vitae Sample on top of the southern table.

Then, examine the Laboratory Centrifuge on the northeastern corner of the room and combine both the Preconfigured Alta Vitae Sample and the Unconfigured Alta Vitae Sample to create either the Inexpertly Configured Alta Vitae Mixture or the (BEST OPTIONWeirdly Reconfigured Alta Vitae Mixture (+10 XP). (NOTE: The mixture you obtained is most likely based on your Medical skill level, with the weirdly reconfigured mixture as the best option to subtly affect the experiment.) On the left of the centrifuge, use the Pneumatic Tube Delivery Device to send the mixture to the test chamber, altering the experiment.

Sabotaging the Zyranium Pump Settings

Go through the vent again, then head to the northeastern room to gain access to the Zyranium Pump settings. Examine the note on the southwestern corner to find its ideal setting to be 300p/m, then read the note on the table to read another ideal setting to be at 200p/m. Then, read the datapad on top of the same table as the second note to find out that if the flow is less than 500 gallons per minute, the test results will be skewed.

endpoints end companion quest the outer worlds 2 wiki guide 30

Toggle the zyranium flow on the mechanism on the right side of the table (BEST OPTION), then examine the Zyranium Flow Settings on the left of the table and lock the final settings to sabotage the Zyranium pump. NOTE: Disabling only the 200p/m zyranium flow will minimally affect the flow, so its effect to the experiment result will go unnoticed.

Sabotaging the Macrowave Chamber

Climb up the vent, then drop down to the room on the southeast to reach the room containing the Macrowave Chamber. Examine the chamber, and you will have three options for sabotaging it:

  • BEST OPTION: Slightly rotate the exquisitely well-calibrated amalgamation of elements by .01 degrees counterclockwise. (Requires Science! 5 or the Professor Character Background)
  • ALTERNATIVE: Replace the exquisitely well-calibrated amalgamation of elements with a weird-looking rock. (Requires Weird-Looking Rock)
  • WORST OPTION: Remove the exquisitely well-calibrated amalgamation of elements from the chamber.

endpoints end companion quest the outer worlds 2 wiki guide 33 endpoints end companion quest the outer worlds 2 wiki guide 34 endpoints end companion quest the outer worlds 2 wiki guide 35

Select either the BEST OPTION or the ALTERNATIVE option, as choosing the last one will be noticeable in the results of the experiment. If you do not have Science! 9 or the Professor background, pick up the Weird-Looking Rock on top of the console behind the chamber will allow you to go for the ALTERNATIVE option. Choosing the WORST OPTION will increase the chances of Anchoress Brun finding out that the results have been tampered with.

Heading Back to Seer Bujold

After sabotaging the entire experiment, climb back to the vent and navigate your way back to Anais. Talk to her (+1,296 XP), and the screen will blur momentarily. Anchoress Brun will ask Anais if it worked, and Anais will ask you to convince Brun to end the research. Anais says that you have to make Anchoress Brun give up on science and reason so that no one else will continue the research. You will then be given several dialogue choices for how you can deal with Brun:

  • Seems like you have a clear preference here, Marisol.
  • We should try to undermine her confidence. If we fail, "accidental death" is our fallback.
  • Let's convince Anchoress Brun she's an utter failure, but try to leave her alive.
  • I say we kill Anchoress Brun and make it look like an accident. Doubt I'll change my mind.

endpoints end companion quest the outer worlds 2 wiki guide 36 endpoints end companion quest the outer worlds 2 wiki guide 37

Choose the second option, which would be the most logical, and Anais will agree with you. Finish your conversation with Marisol and Anais, and you will have to execute the plan. Anais will hand over the Outer Ledge Hatch Key to you, and you must head to the fourth floor using the lift to confront Anchoress Brun.

Convincing Anchoress Brun

Before confronting Anchoress Brun, you may use the Outer Ledge Hatch Key on the vent on the right side as you exit the lift, which will only be needed if you cannot convince Brun. (NOTE: To convince Anchoress Brun to stop with the research, you will need to pass Science! 14 and Speech 14 skill checks.) Then, talk to Anchoress Brun at the other end of the room to start executing the plan. Brun will ask you about what happened to the experiment, and your choices during the sabotage of the four stations will affect your dialogue with Brun. You will then have to choose between the dialogue choices below:

  • Seer Bujold was very thorough, but there were... some issues.
  • I hate to break it to you, but the experiment failed. Spectacularly.
  • I don't think the universe was supposed to be that color. It looked hungover.

Choose the first option, and she will then remark that you are softening the blow. She will start hyperventilating, and she will ask you to start from the beginning. You will be given more dialogue choices:

  • The experiment was deeply flawed on a conceptual level.
  • The staff you've assembled lack the necessary skills to pull off such a test.
  • The equipment you're using is hopelessly out of date.

Choose the first option again, and you will be given two dialogue choices:

  • Spawning a faux mini-universe to solve the Universal Equation doesn't make a lick of sense.
  • Since when did Order scientists believe in cutting corners? I thought you were meticulous.
  • The test assumes universal constants never vary. Can you be absolutely certain of that? [Requires Science! 14]

You will have to select the third option, which requires Science! 14. She will then state that you seem to be making a lot out of the situation, and you will be given more dialogue choices:

  • Anchoress Chao doubted your plans. Her final words claimed you'd been swayed by flattery.
  • Or maybe one Of the two Of us isn't taking things seriously enough.
  • You didn't seek disconfirming evidence. Your approach was just a self-fulfilling prophecy. [Requires Science! 14 and Brilliant]

Anchoress Brun will still not be convinced, and she says that the research can be improved moving forward. Select the dialogue option, "Improving the model and methodology won't fix the underlying research being bad science," [Requires Science! 9], and you will be given more dialogue options:

  • The Seer came to sabotage the test because she thinks you're going to get everyone killed.
  • [Lie] You think it's brilliant because you fail to grasp all Of its intrinisic errors.
  • The experiment failed terribly. Your career is over. Time to retire. [Requires Speech 14]
  • If you like poor statistical approaches, ineffective operationalization, and unwarranted conclusions. [Requires Science! 14]

Marisol will then add to the conversation, and Anchoress Brun will be convinced. She will then announce the shut down of the research and operations (+1,296 XP), and the quest will be completed (+4,320 XP).

endpoints end companion quest the outer worlds 2 wiki guide 40 endpoints end companion quest the outer worlds 2 wiki guide 41 endpoints end companion quest the outer worlds 2 wiki guide 42

ALTERNATIVE OPTION: If you do not meet the requirements for Speech and Science! to convince Anchoress Brun, head to the vent you opened earlier and drop down to the ledge that goes around the building. Follow the path of the ledge, then examine the Test Chamber Ventillation Reroutement at the end. Select the option to connect the ventilation between test chambers, and Anchoress Brun will die. The quest will be completed (+4,320 XP), and you will have to escape Point Obviation.

endpoints end companion quest the outer worlds 2 wiki guide 43 endpoints end companion quest the outer worlds 2 wiki guide 44

Escaping Point Obviation

Use the lift to get to the first floor, and you will be confronted by Exemplar Grace Southworth. Talk to her, and she will be furious at Marisol because the experiment failed and Anchoress Brun died. NOTE: If you fail to convince her to let you go, all NPCs in Point Obviation will become hostile towards you and your party (You will need either Science! 20 or Speech 20 to convince Southworth to let you go). If you do end up fighting Grace and the soldiers, you can loot the "Aggravator" unique weapon from Exemplar Grace.

You will then be given several dialogue choices:

  • Ah, this is your first workplace accident and you're feeling guilty about it, I see.
  • I thought you believed in Seer Buiold. Didn't you hear her announcement?
  • I'd think long and hard before accusing a former Preemptive Causal Redirection Intercessor.
  • Marisol, the need for subtlety has passed, right?

Southworth will be skeptical about what happened, and you will be given more dialogue choices:

  • [Lie] We discovered a great deal of falsified dato in the underlying research.
  • Anchoress Brun talked a good game, but overlooked the shoddy science involved in the test.
  • Marisol, I'm done with words. Can we iust shoot our way out now?

Select the second dialogue choice, and Southworth will not believe what you said. She will then say that you can try again, or you will have to shoot your way out of Point Obviation. You will have to choose between the following dialogue options:

  • This isn't working, Marisol. Can I just shoot her?
  • [Lie] You've all put an outsized amount of faith in Seer Buiold•s science. She's a fraud.
  • So, you see far more than the Anchoress then. You realize she's smarter than you, yes?
  • You're angry and scared and feel the need to lash out. But we're not your enemies here. [Requires Speech14]
  • [Requires Leadership 9]
  • [Requires Science! 20]

endpoints end companion quest the outer worlds 2 wiki guide 45 endpoints end companion quest the outer worlds 2 wiki guide 46

Choose the dialogue option that requires Speech 20, and Exemplar Grace Southworth will be convinced that the experiment caused Anchoress Brun's death. Head back to the landing pad to find Anais, and she will give you Marisol's Advanced Mod Kit. Once the conversation is finished, head back to The Incognito and debrief with Marisol. After your conversation with Marisol, the Energy Storage perk will be unlocked for her.
