Diablo 4 Season of Reckoning Tier list
This tier list ranks Classes based on their overall performance in the current state of the game, taking into account factors such as damage, survivability, and effectiveness in endgame content.
It reflects how strong and reliable each class is compared to others, but it is not final, as the meta can change over time with updates, balance adjustments, and new discoveries.
| Tier | Classes |
|---|---|
| S Tier | Barbarian, Sorcerer |
| A Tier | Necromancer, Druid, Paladin |
| B Tier | Warlock, Rogue, Spiritborn |
- Currently one of the strongest classes due to extremely high scaling, especially with Whirlwind and Hammer of the Ancients. Its performance is boosted by mechanics that allow damage to stack beyond intended limits, making it a top performer in high-tier clears.
- Surprisingly strong thanks to Lightning-based builds reaching top clears. Its flexibility with elemental conversions and strong scaling pushed it into top tier, although it still depends on proper setup to perform consistently.
- Performs well due to strong synergy between minions and Army of the Dead. Multiple viable builds allow consistent results, making it a solid and reliable choice in high-end content.
- A versatile class with several competitive builds, particularly Lightning Storm and Companion setups. While not the strongest, its consistency and variety keep it firmly in a strong position.
- A balanced class with solid scaling through stacking mechanics. While it doesn’t reach the same peak damage as top-tier classes, it remains reliable and effective across different scenarios.
- Despite strong potential, current builds rely on ramp-up mechanics that require setup before dealing peak damage. This makes it less consistent compared to more immediate damage classes, placing it slightly lower.
- A technical class that depends heavily on setup and execution. While builds like Dance of Knives can deal good damage, they require precise play, making overall performance less consistent.
- A stable but not standout class, often relying on Lightning-based setups. It performs adequately, but lacks the scaling or impact needed to compete with higher-tier classes.
Diablo 4 Season of Reckoning New Features
Forge your Path through Sanctuary
When creating a character in Diablo IV, you choose where your battle begins: the Seasonal Realm or the Eternal Realm. Both offer the same core experience, including campaigns, class offerings, dungeons, and endgame challenges, but they diverge in meaningful ways that may shape how you play. With Lord of Hatred, you can begin fresh with a new Seasonal character or return to an existing character on the Eternal Realm to continue your journey. Choosing Eternal does not require restarting the campaign, allowing you to pick up where you left off or begin the latest campaign right away.
Seasonal Realm
Best for Players who want:
- A fresh start, offering a zero-to-hero experience
- Evolving gameplay experiences shaped through seasonal content
- Structured progression with earnable seasonal rewards
- To try a variety of new or unique builds, experiencing the game through different playstyles
- To play with friends on the Seasonal Realm
What is it?
- Limited-time themes and earnable rewards offer a refreshed journey. Each new Season starts with a new character to craft with the latest builds and newly discovered loot. When the season ends, your characters and progress carry over to the Eternal realm. Certain features, like The Tower and Leaderboards (Beta) only exist on the Seasonal Realm. Each Season guides you quickly into meaningful content. Seasonal themes and mechanics shape your journey, while Season Ranks track progress and unlock rewards as you take on greater challenges.
Progression
- Item and character progress resets on these characters each new Season, offering a zero-to-hero experience to face the latest challenges. Like the Eternal Realm, difficulty will progress at your pace, increasing with higher Torment Tiers or based on the endgame challenges you seek.
Loot & Rewards
- Seasonal Characters begin with an empty inventory, offering fresh loot and build opportunities. Core systems remain, while limited-time features add new twists. Along with Reliquaries, Seasonal Realm players can earn rewards through Season Ranks like cosmetics, currencies, and Seasonal Blessing bonuses that boost progression.
Getting Started
- Choose to create a character on the Seasonal Realm. Each Season begins at level one and resets all progression, including Paragon and Gold. Mount, cosmetics, and transmogs carry over across realms. If you’ve completed the campaign once, you can choose to jump straight into endgame Seasonal content.
Eternal Realm
Best for Players who want:
- Long-term progression with existing characters
- A persistent environment without seasonal resets
- Ongoing build refinement over time
- To play with friends on the Eternal Realm
What is it?
- The enduring world of Diablo IV where characters, builds, and loot persist without reset. Continue your journey, refine your builds over time, and play at your own pace. Experience regular core game updates, including balance changes that may impact builds, but without access to Seasonal content and rewards.
Progression
- Item and character progression is enduring, allowing you to chase perfect rolls and invest in systems like Masterworking and Tempering with no resets over time. Difficulty progression adapts to your power, letting you progress at your own pace. Higher World Tiers and endgame activities allow you to increase challenge as desired. Jump back in at any time and continue where you left off.
Loot & Rewards
- Your gear, stash, Paragon, and gold are preserved over time to continue customizing. cosmetics, transmogs, and achievements are account-wide, and will appear on both Realms. Players on the Eternal realm also get access to the Reliquary, earning cosmetic rewards as Favor Tokens unlock through gameplay.
Getting Started
- Choose your campaign state when creating a character: start from the base game, jump into an expansion, or go straight into endgame if you’ve completed the expansions already. For characters already on the Eternal Realm, jump back in to play with them any time.

With deeper customization and greater variety across all eight classes, players can forge builds that feel more distinct than ever.
Level Cap Increase and Torment Tier Extension

Power in Sanctuary reaches new heights. The level cap increases to 70, giving heroes more room to grow and push their builds further. Torment difficulty has also been extended, now rising from Torment IV to Torment XII, creating a clearer climb through increasingly deadly challenges for those who dare to test their strength.
Loot Filter, Map Overlay, & More

A new suite of quality-of-life improvements makes every journey through Sanctuary smoother and more intuitive. The Loot Filter helps you focus on the gear that matters most, while the new Map Overlay and Pathfinding features make navigating the world clearer and more seamless. Spend less time managing systems and more time doing what heroes do best—slaying demons.

Face a greater variety of environments, monsters, and bosses, which help keep the experience fresh run after run. The Tower has also received a substantial tuning and balance pass, helping create a consistent and fair competition for Leaderboard glory.
Tower Refresh Timing
Based off player feedback, Tower competitions now start on Thursdays following a release or patch to give the development team time to catch for any final balancing or bug fixes prior to Leaderboard start. The next Tower leaderboard opens on April 30.
Tower Updates
We’ve added new environments, monsters, and Bosses, keeping the Tower fresh and keeping you on your toes. Additionally, since there was a large balancing effort on enemies for 3.0.0, the monsters in the Tower are more meaningful threats. There’s been a large tuning pass for the score monsters grant in the Tower, and should better match the overall challenge of each enemy. Your run now officially starts after either exiting the starting circle, or 10 seconds after entering the Tower. For the wanderer that relishes in praise or admonishment, the Artificer now comments on your Tower Runs.
Tower Rewards
The Tower Beta introduces rewards for conquering personal milestones and progressing Season Rank, unlocking these as you ascend. We also have specific Milestone Rewards that can progress your Season Rank. Climb the Tower to untold heights and unlock valuable Treasures of the Artificer. These new caches include Lore Books and items with guaranteed Greater Affixes. These can only be earned by ascending the Tower, first-time completion of higher Tower Tiers earns the Artificer’s Favor.
Build Viewer
For entries on the Leaderboard, the game will now capture a snapshot of each build which ranks on the leaderboard. Select one of the top Leaderboard entries to view their build at the time of completing their Tower run.
