Greatlance is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3.
This lance features a long pole, and was originally intended to be used by knights for jousting.
This weapon is primarily used in charging attacks, and would require tremendous strength and dexterity to be handled by a mere foot soldier.
Skill: Charge
Hold lance at waist and charge at foe. Use strong attack while charging to extend the length of the charge.
Notes and Tips:
- Can be Infused and Buffed.
- Reinforced with Titanite.
- The Greatlance has a weapon range of 47.4611xl on the 1h R1, and 45.6623xl on the 2h R1. It is the longest Pike in the game.
- Unlike other pikes, the Greatlance features poise. The poise given is small, but makes it significantly easier to deal with light weapons.
- The 2h rolling & running attacks have 8.15 poise.
- The R1, R2, and jump attacks have 16.30 poise.
- The 2h Charged R2s have 24.45 poise.
- It and all other pike-class weapons have a slow attack speed when used one handed that becomes much faster when wielded with two hands.
- When two handed, the charged R2 cannot be parried.
- The Greatlance was considered a very poor weapon upon launch, for it had a very slow moveset (this was worsened in one of the game's patches) and lacked poise on its attacks. However, multiple game patches have improved the slow moveset, the lack of poise and the Pike class overall. This makes it a considerably better weapon than it was before.
Location/Where to Find
- Found in Lothric Castle near the Dragon Barracks bonfire. From the bonfire, head up the stairs and to the left to find the Greatlance next to a red-eyed Lothric Knight.
