Who she is

Emma lives on the margins of what remains of human society in the year 4026, roughly two thousand years after a catastrophe reshaped the world. She is treated as an outcast, and the game opens with her already apart from the communities she moves between.

She is voiced in Japanese by Yui Ishikawa. Full voice audio is available in English and Japanese.

Her role in combat

Emma is the character you directly control. She fights with a sword and has ranged options including a bow, and her kit is built to combine with commands issued to her companion rather than to work alone.

Combat blends direct action with a command layer, so a fight involves both your own inputs and the orders you give. The pairing is the core of the system rather than a support mechanic attached to it.

Progression

Emma levels to a cap of 100, and respeccing is available, so committing to a build early is not permanent. She and her companion progress on separate tracks.

A skill tree governs what she learns. Its structure and the individual abilities on it will be documented on this wiki once the game is out.

Her relationship with Koo

The partnership is the subject of the game. Emma and the dog she travels with are bound together by her circumstances rather than by choice, and the systems around trust and cooperation grow out of that.
