Death and Checkpoints in Beast of Reincarnation
Dying in Beast of Reincarnation does not cost you anything you have earned. There is no currency loss, no run to recover it, and no progress rollback on unlocks.
No death penalty
This is one of the clearer distinctions between Beast of Reincarnation and the games it gets compared to. Defeat sends you back to a rest point without confiscating currency or forcing a recovery run.
Progress you have unlocked stays unlocked. Skills, upgrades and anything you have already opened are not rolled back by dying.
Rest points
Two kinds of rest location exist. One is a campsite, used for recovery and preparation. The other is a shrine, whose exact function has not been detailed publicly.
Resting appears to bring defeated enemies back, which is the standard trade for restoring your own resources. Coverage has been inconsistent on this point: some previews described enemies as staying dead, while hands-on reports from Japanese outlets describe them respawning. The respawning account comes from more sources and is the more likely reading, and this page will be corrected against the retail build.
What is not yet public
Autosave frequency, manual save availability and the number of save slots have not been detailed. The Steam listing confirms cloud saves are supported.
