Mined Games is the final Black Ops 2 Zombies easter egg achievement related to the Victis crew, and if you're looking to help Richtofen in his grand scheme, we've got you covered. The step-by-step Buried easter egg for Richtofen's path can be found here, with an updated guide that will help you navigate the undead's Old West town to help everyone's untrustworthy, sadistic, Aether-controlling German.

This easter egg requires four players unless you have a PC and use Plutonium. Then, you can download BO2-Full-Solo-Mods. This will make it so that the maze step tells you the order of levers after you press them all at least once, and changes the sharpshooter step so you just need to shoot 19 targets.

Like the previous Richtofen easter eggs, you should be playing as Samuel J. Stuhlinger, as he's the only character that can hear Richtofen's quotes.

Buried Richtofen Side Easter Egg Steps Overview

  1. Free Arthur
  2. Build the Guillotine
  3. Use the Paralyzer to charge 4 Orbs.
  4. Obtain the Lantern.
  5. Kill 10 Ghost Girls to charge the Lantern.
  6. Solve the cipher puzzle.
  7. Acquire Vulture Aid and use a Bowie Knife to melee the signs.
  8. Follow the wisp to the Guillotine and kill 5 charged zombies.
  9. Use a Time Bomb to reach Round Infinity and find the Switch.
  10. Pull the four levers in the hedge maze.
  11. Make a Wish.
  12. Shoot the Targets.

Step #1: Free Arthur

As soon as you drop down the slide and enter the Old West town, you're going to want to head up the stairs to the Sheriff's House to jump across to the Jailhouse, where you can then drop through the floor to find Arthur trapped in his cell.

Free him by grabbing the key outside the cell, then use the Booze at his bedside table so he charges through the debris. You can now find Booze at the Saloon, which can be given to Arthur to open up other areas of the map that were previously inaccessible.

Make sure to turn on the Power, which is upstairs in the Candy Store!

Step #2: Build the Guillotine

Step #2 Build the Guillotine (5)

The Guillotine is needed to begin Richtofen's side of the Buried easter egg, and there are four parts to find. You can build each of these parts to the left of the Saloon against the wall to the Gunsmith:

  • The Crystal Shard is located at the back-right wall of the mineshafts.
  • The Antenna is in the barn's lower floor, behind a hanging lantern.
  • The Wire Spool is inside the Gunsmith's, in a corner in the left room once you enter.
  • The Dish is by the balcony of the Saloon on the top floor.

Step #3: Acquire the Paralyzer and Charge the Four Orbs

You need to get the Paralyzer, which is the Wonder Weapon from the Mystery Box. It might take a few spins, but once you have it, you're going to need to use the Paralyzer on four specific red crystal balls found in the map at these locations:

  • In the mineshafts.
  • In the left corner outside the Saloon and to the right of the Candy Store.
  • To the left of the Church entrance.
  • Outside the Ghost Mansion, when you enter the hedge maze, turn to the immediate left, where the exit can be found.

Step #4: Grab and Charge the Lantern

Now that all the orbs have been charged, there will be a floating blue Lantern around the underground town for you to grab. You can force this Lantern to drop by cooking a grenade and throwing it after around 3.5 seconds. Then, just pick it up!

With the Lantern acquired, you need to get 10 Ghost kills. This is easily done simply by hanging around the inside of the Ghost Mansion, just be careful not to get hit, or else

Step #5: Acquire Vulture Aid and Build the Lantern

At this point, you're going to need Vulture Aid. This Perk can be acquired from inside the Church, to the left of the Ghost Mansion. Now that you have it, you can head to the rooftop of the Gunsmith, where you will find a chalk outline of the Lantern, which can be interacted with.

This will spawn three unique sentences on the wall, which can be translated through the Rosicrucian Cipher. However, we'll translate them for you so you know which three names you have and what to do with that information in the step below.

Step #6: Solve the Rosicrucian Cipher and Chase the Wisp

Step #7 Solve the Rosicrucian Cipher and Guide the Wisp-1

The symbols on the wall (from top to bottom) translate to wooden signs found in the mineshaft. Use the image above to translate your symbols to find your three names, and then enter the mineshafts and melee those three specific signs, but only with a Bowie Knife or Galvaknuckles.

Upon hitting the third correct sign, a wisp will appear. You now need to use Vulture Aid to locate the wisp and run into it before it disappears, so try to run fast. The wisp will keep teleporting until it eventually lands at the Guillotine you built earlier, so run into it for a final time.

Step #7: Charge the Wisp and Acquire the Time Bomb

Step #7 Charge the Wisp and Acquire the Time Bomb

Now that the wisp has merged with the Guillotine, it will shoot off into a zombie. This zombie, charged with the wisp, needs to be killed. You need to repeat this until 5 wisp-charged zombies have been killed. Then, you need to head to the Mystery Box and obtain the Time Bomb.

Step #8: Time Travel to Round Infinity and Find the Switch

Throw the Time Bomb onto the Guillotine and then use it, where you will be temporarily teleported to Round Infinity. Your goal is to find the corpses of the Victis crew and interact with them until you find the Switch item. Don't even bother trying to kill zombies, as they have infinite health!

Once you find the Switch, interact with the Guillotine to attach it, which will then trigger the next step.

The bodies are scattered across the map, but never past the Ghost Mansion. Check by the Guillotine, the Gunsmith, the Barn, and around the Church.

Step #9: Activate the Four Switches in the Hedge Maze in the Correct Order

Head through the Ghost Mansion to reach the hedge maze. On random doors within the maze, there will be four switches. These switches are color-coded and can be the following: Yellow, Red, Blue, Green.

Your goal is to flip a switch, and you'll know you've flipped the right one when it sparks. You need to trial-and-error this step until each switch you activate sparks. So, if you activate one switch and it doesn't spark, leave the hedge maze and return, then look for a different one to find your first switch, then repeat with your other three.

If you can't find the door containing your last switch, check the walls in the middle of the maze where the water fountain can be found.

Step #10: Make a Wish and Shoot the Targets

Step #10 Make a Wish and Shoot the Targets-1

Your final step is to head to the fountain in the town, and you can interact with it to "make a wish". However, doing this starts a sharpshooter challenge, so make sure you have an Assault Rifle and Speed Cola. You might also want to get a crawler and use Candy on Arthur, so he holds the zombie in place.

Once you make a wish, there will be teleporting cardboard cutouts that you need to shoot. Each player needs to take one of the locations below so that you can all shoot your targets without missing one:

  • In the windows of the Ghost Mansion
  • Around the Jailhouse and Sheriff's House.
  • Inside the Saloon
  • Around the Candy Store and outside the General Store.
Step #10 Make a Wish and Shoot the Targets (2)-1

Once all your targets have been destroyed, you won't be able to make a wish at the fountain anymore, and Richtofen will have a quote for you. You can also check the Buried icon on the map in the lobby, and it should now be glowing blue!
