Peter’s Perfect Parry is a hidden achievement/trophy in Mortal Shell 2 that requires you to “parry each of the Nameless Captive’s headspins.” The Nameless Captive is one of the main bosses in this game, found in the Prisoner’s Domain Corrupted Gate.
However, the issue with getting this achievement is that the Nameless Captive has multiple “headspin” attack combos in which he uses the blade on his head to spin around and hit the player. However, the achievement requires players to parry a very specific combo, but does not tell players which one it is. Even trickier is that if you accidentally kill the Nameless Captive while trying to get the Peter’s Perfect Parry achievement/trophy, in traditional Soulslike fashion, you will not be able to replay the fight without starting a New Game+.
Nameless Captive Location: The Nameless Captive is found inside the western Corrupted Gate in the Fainweald region called the Prisoner’s Domain, right next to the Nochtean Gate beacon.
How to Get Peter’s Perfect Parry Achievement/Trophy in Mortal Shell 2
- Requirement: Untarnished Seal
To get this achievement, you have to parry the Nameless Captive’s 7-hit headspin attack during the 2nd phase of his fight using the Untarnished Seal.
The Nameless Captive has three distinct headspin attacks that he does during his boss fight; only one of these is the one you need to parry to get the achievement.

The Nameless Captive Attack |
Description |
Peter's Perfect Parry Requirement |
|---|---|---|
|
4-hit Headspin Combo |
The Nameless Captive uses the blade on his head to make a sweeping motion in front of his body, alternating between the left and right sides. |
No |
|
10-hit Headspin Combo |
At the start of the second phase, the Nameless Captive bends over and spins the blade on his head 10 times in quick succession, almost like a fan. |
No |
|
7-hit Headspin Combo |
During his second phase, the Nameless Captive spins the blade over his head seven times in quick succession, similar to a helicopter motion. |
Yes |
The telltale sign of the 7-hit Headspin Attack is that the Nameless Captive leans over, almost like he’s about to fall, and as he does so, he brings the blade behind himself in a wind-up motion. The 7-hit attack consists of 6 consecutive headspins that get progressively quicker, followed by a brief pause, and then 1 additional headspin.
To get the Peter’s Perfect Parry achievement/trophy, you have to parry all 7 hits of this 7-headspin attack in succession using the Untarnished Seal’s Perfect Guard, without taking a hit even once.
Do not use the Infinite Seal to try and get the Peter’s Perfect Parry achievement/trophy. It can’t be done. The Break damage from a successful Infinite Seal parry will put the Nameless Captive in Riposte range within 3-4 hits; parrying the full 7-hit combo is simply not possible.
Best Way to Get Peter’s Perfect Parry Achievement
Play the boss fight normally until the Nameless Captive reaches half health and the scripted Riposte event takes place where you bury his own blade inside his head. Then, do not attack and do not parry. Dodge every attack he does until you get him to perform the 7-hit combo.
The first two Perfect Blocks should be easy. There is a wind-up animation that’s easy to predict for both of them. After the second attack, the Nameless Captive gets faster and faster, with four very, very quick headspins. Then, there is a slight pause that throws off your timing, followed by one last headspin.
If you parry half of the attack and fail the rest, you need to reset completely. To do this, deal Break damage to the Nameless Captive and Riposte him as quickly as possible. Eredrim is great for this.
The reason we do this is so that the Break meter is completely empty in preparation for the next 7-hit combo parry. If you don’t do this, the next time the Nameless Captive does the 7-hit Headspin, you’ll likely end up Riposting him midway through the combo, wasting the attempt.
