1 Vancouver Whitecaps
Last week: 1st (no change)
Result: 0-0 draw at Austin FC
Up next: Saturday, May 24 at Real Salt Lake (9:30 pm ET)
The 
Vancouver Whitecaps have slowed down a bit, drawing their last two and not looking quite as dominant as they did to start the year. Still, they're on a tidy little eight-game unbeaten run and should be able to get some sort of result in Salt Lake.
2 Philadelphia Union
Last week: 3rd (+1)
Result: 1-0 win at Atlanta United
Up next: Saturday, May 24 vs Inter Miami (7:30 pm ET)
The 
Philadelphia Union are themselves on an unbeaten run, making it six matches since their last loss with a professional 1-0 win in Atlanta. Their match against Miami this weekend looks like one of the prime matchups of the season so far. Oh, yeah, and of course they're full steam ahead in the US Open Cup.
3 FC Cincinnati
Last week: 2nd (-1)
Result: 1-1 draw at Columbus Crew
Up next: Sunday, May 25 at Atlanta United (7:00 pm ET)
FC Cincinnati were second best in Columbus, with Pat Noonan admitting afterward that they were lucky to escape with a point. However, good teams find ways to get results even when they're not playing well, and Cincinnati have done that all season. It still feels like they haven't really clicked and they're on pace for 73 points. Imagine when they do find their rhythm...
4 Columbus Crew
Last week: 4th (no change)
Result: 1-1 draw vs FC Cincinnati
Up next: Saturday, May 24 at Charlotte FC (7:30 pm ET)
Like Cincinnati, it feels like the 
Columbus Crew SC haven't hit their top form yet. They created more than enough chances to win Saturday's Hell Is Real match handily, but struggled to put chances away. Dániel Gazdag, in particular, needs a goal badly.
5 Minnesota United
Last week: 11th (+6)
Result: 3-0 win vs St Louis City
Up next: Saturday, May 24 at Austin FC (8:30 pm ET)
Minnesota United played St. Louis twice in one week, beating them 3-0 in MLS on the weekend and then 3-2 midweek in the US Open Cup Round of 16. New signing Julian Gressel bagged a goal and an assist this week, looking like the perfect fit in Eric Ramsay's system.
6 San Diego FC
Last week: 6th (no change)
Result: 0-0 draw vs Sporting KC
Up next: Saturday, May 24 at LA Galaxy (4:45 pm ET)
San Diego FC were dominant with the ball in their scoreless draw against Sporting KC, but were let down by some disappointing finishing to leave without a goal and just a point. After their form dipped in April, they've bounced back quickly, and are on a four-game unbeaten run.
7 Orlando City
Last week: 9th (+2)
Result: 3-0 win at Inter Miami
Up next: Saturday, May 24 vs Portland Timbers (7:30 pm ET)
Orlando City SC trounced Miami on the road on Sunday, putting three goals past them in a one-sided match that could have been much worse. The Lions didn't rotate against Nashville in midweek Open Cup action, though, and looked heavy-legged in their 3-2 loss. How they respond on Saturday against Portland will be crucial.
8 LAFC
Last week: 7th (-1)
Result: 2-2 draw at LA Galaxy
Up next: Saturday, May 24 at CF Montreal (7:30 pm ET)
El Trafico didn't disappoint, with 
Los Angeles FC sharing the points with the Galaxy in a thrilling 2-2 draw. While the entertainment value was great, LAFC will certainly be frustrated that they couldn't get more against the worst team in MLS, who looked more than up for the occasion. On the plus side, it looks like they've found the answer at the No. 9 position in Nathan Ordaz, who can't stop scoring.
9 Seattle Sounders
Last week: 10th (+1)
Result: 1-1 draw at Portland Timbers
Up next: Saturday, May 24 vs FC Dallas (3 pm ET)
No Cascadia Cup win for the 
Seattle Sounders this weekend, who were really positive against Portland but could only manage a 1-1 draw, despite out shooting their rivals 13-4. Perhaps their midweek 4-0 loss to LAFC was an outlier?
10 Nashville SC
Last week: 8th (-2)
Result: 0-0 draw vs DC United
Up next: Saturday, May 24 at Toronto FC (6:30 pm ET)
Nashville SC rotated heavily against DC United at home, and it was a fairly flat showing from the Coyotes at home, who are on a five-match unbeaten run in MLS. 17-year-old center back Chris Applewhite made his first MLS start and looked excellent though, going the full 90 minutes a few days later in a 3-2 Open Cup win in Orlando.
