Spike Chunsoft

Spike Chunsoft shared an update on Danganronpa 2×2, announcing that the game will now be sold on a game-key card. This applies to all regions.

Spike Chunsoft said that “this decision was not taken lightly and follows careful consideration.” However, “the company does not have any additional details to share at this time.”

Danganronpa creator Kazutaka Kodaka has spoken about what to expect from killing off characters in next year’s Danganronpa 2×2.

The upcoming game will feature both the original story as well as a brand-new scenario. We haven’t seen much of that new scenario yet, but Spike Chunsoft won’t be holding back on letting characters go.

Danganronpa has become a full-fledged series with multiple games, but things could have ended up very differently. In a social media post, series creator Kazutaka Kodaka reflected on how the franchise could have ended after just one game.

Danganronpa got off to a slow start and there weren’t originally plans for a sequel. However, Kodaka was offered to work on the Danganronpa Zero novel and sales for the game started to pick up thanks to strong word of mouth.

Spike Chunsoft has announced the western release of Steins;Gate Octet of Shifting Space, a game we haven’t seen since its original PC release in 2011. The title will be included as an early purchase bonus for the physical version of Steins;Gate Re:Boot, with details concerning a standalone release coming later on.

Here’s an overview of the game:

Danganronpa 2x2 delayed

According to Spike Chunsoft’s latest update at Anime Expo 2026, Danganronpa 2×2 has been delayed. The game will release in early 2027.

Danganronpa 2×2 was originally planned for this year. However, for the most part, we haven’t heard much about it since its original reveal. Spike Chunsoft initially unveiled the project during a Nintendo Direct last September.

Spike Chunsoft issued a new Steins;Gate Re:Boot trailer focusing on the new “Gamma Worldline” story.

This is something brand new created for the game. It not depicted in the original 2009 release of Steins;Gate, so it’s an incentive for fans to return to the game.

While the game itself was recently announced, we now have confirmation that Steins;Gate Reboot is receiving an official western release on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch. It’ll be available in North America and Europe on October 29, 2026.

Spike Chunsoft is handling the game outside of Japan.  The company is planning both a standard version and a Steelbook Edition for retail. These copies will feature a new cover illustration by character designer huke. Each edition also includes a sticker as a first-print-run bonus.

We finally have an update on Danganronpa 2×2, as a physical release has now been revealed for Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch.

Fans can choose between a standard version and a Psycho Tropical Vacation Package. The latter includes clamshell-style outer box, Monokuma and Monomi figures, a bucket hat, and the soundtrack. We’re hearing that the full game is on the cartridge for Nintendo Switch 2, so no worries about it being a game-key card.
