James Turner is now with The Pokemon Company, it’s been confirmed. He shared the news over on social media.
For those that are unaware, Turner most recently co-directed the Nintendo Switch game The Plucky Squire at All Possible Futures. He co-founded the studio after leaving Game Freak a few years ago.

7 Star Annihilape guide for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

We haven’t written up a guide for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet 7 Star Tera Raid Battles in a while, but the currently ongoing 7 Star Annihilape event is extremely difficult. We figured it’d be helpful to share some tips.
Annihilape is running Tera Ghost, and it has Rage Fist, which increases in power by 50 every time it takes damage. And if you have any CPUs in the battle at all, Annihilape could take damage up to four times per turn. Needless to say, Rage Fist is quickly going to spiral out of control, eventually outdamaging even the strongest Z-Move. That means you absolutely must run a Normal-type, but Annihilape also has Close Combat. To make matters worse, it has Defiant, which makes this raid much more difficult if you’re a solo player. Luckily, we’ve come up with a two-Pokemon team to take 7 Star Annihilape down.

Consider this to be a mix of news and rumors for Pokemon as a couple of notable updates are spreading online.
With the first one, it’s for Pokemon Winds and Waves. It’s now claimed that Hiroyuki Tani and Katsuhiko Ichiraku are co-directing the Nintendo Switch 2 entry.

Pokemon Pokopia’s Expansion Pass is off to a great start with Bubbly Basin – here’s why

Pokemon Pokopia recently received its first-ever DLC in the form of Bubbly Basin, a brand-new area you can explore and decorate in addition to the five already present in the base game. This is the first of the Expansion Pass’s three confirmed waves, and the whole pass is priced at $34.99. And for being the first of three waves, Bubbly Basin winds up being a great value despite the seemingly high price tag – and, perhaps more importantly, the free update that released alongside it fixed a huge number of issues and nitpicks present in the base game. Not only is Pokemon Pokopia’s Expansion Pass off to a great start, but it’s clear that the developers are in it for the long haul and are willing to make fixes and quality-of-life changes that improve the game even further.

Thanks to the director of Pokemon Pokopia, we now have some insight into why Ditto was chosen to star in the game.
Ditto is popular in some ways, but it’s not on the same level of some other Pokemon. When some think of the franchise, they’d probably bring up the likes of Pikachu, Eevee, Charizard, and Mewtwo.

Pokemon Winds and Waves leaks roundup

Pokemon Winds and Waves are presumably far off – they’re confirmed for 2027, but at the time of writing, we don’t know exactly when. That means the Pokemon series is in a sort of main series drought, which is actually a good thing – the longer Winds and Waves take to develop, the better they’ll hopefully turn out.
All that downtime means leaks are going to be rampant, though, and today we’re going through some existing leaks, evaluating how likely they are, and adding in a few of our ideas and suggestions for the upcoming games. Don’t read this post if you don’t want to potentially be spoiled!

Game Freak reveals first ever prototype footage of Pokemon Pokopia

We have a brand new look at Pokemon Pokopia’s early development, as today, Game Freak unveiled the first ever prototype footage.
Those aren’t the only goodies we have. Game Freak’s update also showed off early sketches and even a look at the design document, which we’ll share first below.

Footage from an internal Game Freak documentary disc surfaced today for Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, and it’s brought along a whole slew of scrapped Pokemon and beta designs.
The footage comes from the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl: Behind the Scenes DVD – Make All. It covers the two-year long development history from Game Freak. While it was never released publicly, a version of the DVD was posted online to the Internet Archive courtesy of neos_tcg and Lewtwo.
