I wasn’t sure what to expect from Denshattack when I first saw it. “So, is it like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater? But like, with a train?” was the question I found myself pondering as I watched preview footage. As it turns out, that thought isn’t a million miles off, but it is so much more. I never got the chance to play any of the previous titles from Barcelona-based indie studio Undercoders, and I didn’t play the demo, so I went in relatively blind. What I found was an experience that was so high-octane and thrilling that it became increasingly difficult to put it down, though it did take me quite a while to get to grips with the gameplay. While I was downloading this title, I was exceptionally curious about what the narrative would be for something like this and sure enough, it was just as much a rollercoaster as the gameplay itself.

Denshattack has been a fan favorite since its reveal last summer, and the game is now only a few days away. With the launch coming up, there’s no better time than now to speak with David Jaumandreu, studio and game director at Undercoders.

We touched on a variety of topics during our discussion, including influences (both feedback from fans and games that inspired the art style), supporting Nintendo Switch 2 with its own version, and the drive to continue pursuing the project despite multiple rejections from publishers.

Here’s our full interview:

Denshattack will be on Nintendo Switch 2 when it comes out in just a few days, but we won’t be seeing it on Switch 1. Undercoders has now shared a bit of insight into the situation.

Speaking with Nintendo Everything, studio and game director David Jaumandreu mentioned how the team always wanted Denshattack on the Nintendo eShop in some form. Thankfully, the company was able to make a release on Nintendo Switch 2 happen.

Denshattack is only a few days away, but we’ve only just now found out that a host of influencers will be featured in the game.

A number of special skins are planned for the game. Additionally, CDawgVA will be joining the campaign in the role of Brian. Ironmouse is providing vocals for the track titled “Unholy Melody”.

Here’s the full rundown:

Denshattack will take a little bit longer to launch as a delay was just announced.

Last we heard, the title was on track for June 17, 2026 for Nintendo Switch and other platforms. Now, however, it will be available on July 15, 2026.
