The fun rolls on in Tetris 99, and now a 56th Maxmius Cup has been announced which will provide the opportunity to unlock a Splatoon Raiders theme.
During the event period, you’ll be tasked with collecting 100 points. Doing so will net you the Splatoon Raiders theme in Tetris 99, which comes with special art, music, and Tetrimino designs. You can earn points by playing online matches. The higher you place, the more points you’ll earn.

Ladder Lad announced for Nintendo Switch

Buck Games today unveiled Ladder Lad, which is in the works for Nintendo Switch. The title’s launch is scheduled for 2027.
Ladder Lad is a 2D platformer all about ladders. It’s set in a ladder-shaped world that’s forgotten how to jump, so you’ll be using a ladder and creative climbing to ascend.

The latest UK software sales chart for the week ending August 1, 2026 is now available.
Splatoon Raiders was previously #1 for its debut last week. There wasn’t much of a drop as it only moves down a single spot to #2.
Aside from that, the other notable piece of news is that the physical version of Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition debuted. It comes in at #16.

It’s time for the latest Famitsu’s most wanted games chart outlining what Japanese gamers are looking forward to based on reader votes.
In this week’s list, Xenoblade Genesis has appeared in the top ten for the first time. We’ll also mention that Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave has moved up to #2.
Elsewhere, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort makes its first appearance. Though it’s down at #30, it should move up from here.
