NBA 2K26 is the next Nintendo Switch Online Game Trial

The next Game Trial has been announced for Nintendo Switch Online, which is NBA 2K26. This will be available in both North America and Europe on Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch.
During the event, players can try out various aspects of the title including local and online multiplayer modes. If you decide to make a purchase later on, save data will transfer to the full version. Additionally, you’ll earn 100 Platinum Points on My Nintendo for trying the game.

Square Enix teases Octopath Traveler 3, aware of high expectations for the game

Square Enix hasn’t announced Octopath Traveler 3, but it’s now all but confirmed that the RPG will release at some point.
Believe it or not, Octopath Traveler has almost been around for a decade now. The first game launched at the start of the Nintendo Switch generation in 2018. There’s also been Octopath Traveler 2, Octopath Traveler 0, and Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword gets new “Severing Fates” trailer

Capcom has released a new trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, the highly anticipated action title launching for Nintendo Switch 2 on September 3.
The new video, titled “Severing Fates,” offers another look at the game and its setting. In the trailer, Musashi visits a shrine known for severing the connecting threads of fate, only to discover a twisted presence preying on innocent wishmakers.
Throughout Onimusha: Way of the Sword, players will explore a variety of locations inspired by real-world landmarks in Kyoto, including the famous Yasui Konpiragu Shrine.

The Midnight Walk to receive Nintendo Switch 2 physical release

Super Rare Games, along with MoonHood and Fast Travel Games, just pulled back the curtain on a Nintendo Switch 2 physical release for The Midnight Walk.
The title will be sold standalone, but fans will also be able to get their hands on a special edition. There’ll be 5,000 copies of the regular version and 2,000 units for the special edition.

Danganronpa creator Kazutaka Kodaka has spoken about what to expect from killing off characters in next year’s Danganronpa 2×2.
The upcoming game will feature both the original story as well as a brand-new scenario. We haven’t seen much of that new scenario yet, but Spike Chunsoft won’t be holding back on letting characters go.

Lies of P has just come to Nintendo Switch 2, and alongside that, players can access version 1.13.1.0.
This is a patch you’ll want to download as it included a new graphics option for handheld mode. Players can now access a new option focusing on performance that supports up to 60 frames per second.
We’ll also mention that motion blur can be turned on and off. General stability improvements and crash fixes are available as well.

We have an update on Nintendo’s latest release schedule, which was published in its latest financial report today.
As previously announced, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave and Nintendo Switch Sports are planned for September and October respectively. Zelda: Ocarina of Time is new on the list, but only has its 2026 launch window.
Xenoblade Genesis and Pokemon Winds / Waves are lined up for 2027. Other than that though, Nintendo’s lineup for next year is a mystery. A Nintendo Direct could very well air next month and clue us in on what’s launching in the future.

Nintendo’s August 2026 financial results have provided the latest update on million seller games for Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch.
Rhythm Heaven Groove and Splatoon Raiders were recently releases, but did not make the list. Both are likely beyond the million mark, but launched after the reporting window closed – the financial results cover through the end of June. Star Fox did not appear either.
That said, we do have updates on a few games. These include Mario Kart World at over 15 million and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream at nearly eight million.
