The Red Prince is a Companion in Divinity: Original Sin 2. The Red Prince is a proud, exiled lizard royal seeking to reclaim his lost throne and restore his glory. Companions are key party members who can join you throughout your journey. Each companion has unique conversation tags, a predefined class, and their own set of equipment, adding depth to their role in your adventure.

Famed, of course, for my unique red skin and unparalleled skills as a general of the House of War, I, the Red Prince, was raised within the vast palaces of the fabled Forbidden City. I was destined to become the next emperor, but my ambitions suffered a bit of a setback when I fell from grace for cavorting with demons. Now I'm exiled and hunted by assassins, but I assure you: I remain undaunted - and as determined as ever to claim my rightful throne!

Divinity Original Sin 2 The Red Prince Location

  • If you did not select The Red Prince as an Origin, he is the first potential Companion you encounter. He is resting at the seaside on the south of the starting place, not far from shipwreck. Note: as a Lizard, he can help you with digging up things.
  • Should he be dismissed during Act 1 after escaping Fort Joy, he can be found at Amadia's Sanctuary on a platform at X:469 Y:17.
  • Can also be recruited on the Lady Vengeance, after fighting Alexandar. Prince is on the main deck of the ship, standing near the ship's control wheel.
  • If The Red Prince is not in your party while fighting Dallis on the Lady Vengeance, he will die and can no longer be recruited.

Divinity: Original Sin 2 The Red Prince Companion Quest

To begin The Red Prince's companion quest, you must first speak with the Dreamer, Stingtail, at Fort Joy. Stingtail is located on the beach south of the fort. He will only appear after you’ve started the quest The Imprisoned Elf and spoken to Griff in Fort Joy. Be cautious when approaching Stingtail, as Sebille will attempt to kill him if she is in your party. It's best to keep her at a distance when interacting with him. The next step involves speaking with Bahara at Amadia's Sanctuary. Bahara is a Lizard who guards the entrance to the sanctuary, which can be found southeast of the Hollow Marshes Bridge Shrine. You’ll know you’re getting close when you defeat the Void Salamanders in the area. If you reach the Hollow Marshes Dragon’s Breach Shrine, you’ve gone too far east.

Afterward, head to Driftwood on the Reaper's Coast and speak with Ghangha, who can be found underneath the Driftwood Tavern. He will inform you that Brahmos the Wanderer has fled to a nearby Paladin camp and is being pursued. At Stonegarden in the Reaper's Coast, use Spirit Vision near the lizard section of the cemetery, where two dragon-head statues breathe fire. Allow The Red Prince to speak to the Dreamer’s ghost. To progress further, travel east to the abandoned sawmill where you will find the Red Princess’s camp. Let the Red Prince mate with her to advance his personal quest. Afterward, you will be ambushed by a group of lizards. Defeat them, and the Red Princess will disappear.

When you arrive at the Nameless Isle, you’ll discover a black mirror in Sallow Man’s Camp, which shows the image of the Red Princess. To access the camp, you must either side with the Black Rings or use the Cowl given to you by Alexandar to reveal the hidden passage inside the Troll Cave. For more details, refer to The Nameless Isle quest. Upon reaching Arx, speak with the Red Prince, who will suggest you investigate the consulate. Before approaching the consulate, make sure you have a Swornbreaker on hand. You can either forge one from the two pieces found on the Nameless Isle or acquire one from The Vault of Linder Kemm.

Important Note: The consulate quest may be buggy, as the Cursed Revenants can respawn endlessly. It’s recommended to save your game before entering the area. Theoretically, the Revenants only respawn near necrofire, but sometimes the necrofire becomes trapped inside walls, causing the bug.

To infiltrate the consulate, use your character with the highest Sneak and Thievery abilities. Stealth through the consulate until you reach the fountain room. If you are caught in a battle, use Retreat to reset and start over. You’ll need a key to open the doors blocking the fountain room. The key can be found on the body of a dead consulate guard, located on the far side of the room, to the right when facing the fountain doors. No enemies spawn in this room, so it can be safely traversed.

Alternatively, the door can be lockpicked. According to a previous guide, Thievery 5 should suffice. Once you’ve unlocked the door, use the Teleporter Pyramid to regroup your team. Cast Spirit Vision to reveal a portal above the fountain. When you interact with the portal, you’ll be teleported to a strange arena, where you’ll face the shades of Malady, Bishop, Windego, and others. Malady can summon a copy of the Red Prince from one of the black mirrors, but only one copy will appear at a time. The Red Prince’s shade is not identical to the real version. In my experience, the shade wielded a dagger and combined rogue and fighter abilities, while the real Red Prince is a geomancer and shield-wielding fighter. The shades do not spawn immediately; they only appear when you step away from the center of the arena.

To defeat this encounter, you must break all the mirrors in the arena. A magical door will appear once all mirrors are destroyed. Here’s a helpful trick to make this difficult fight much easier: if you have a ranged character (such as with a crossbow or bows), you can destroy all the mirrors before the fight begins, without ever leaving the center of the arena. With careful manipulation of angles, you can destroy all the mirrors before the battle even starts. Long-range skills like Fossil Strike or Earthquake can also be used to break the mirrors. Once the mirrors are destroyed, approach the door. When the fight begins, simply move one character to the door, and the entire party will be teleported out of the arena. Next, speak to the Dreamers, who will open a portal to the Red Princess’s hideout. If you have a Swornbreaker, you can free the Red Princess from her bond to the God King. Then, allow the Red Prince to use his fire breath to give birth to a dragon. Leaving the dream will complete the quest.

You have to pickpocket the Assassin's Bow during the encounter where the assassins ambush you just north of Stonegarden. During the fight. The best way is to have Cloak and Dagger, sneak up n pickpocket with an unlinked party member. I always "unlink" now as a result of seeing how easy you can set up fights by unlinking and sneaking in with cloak n dagger used to leap over any 'red' on the ground (where they see you). I started using guerrilla too.. i swear it's disgusting combo. So good luck getting that Assassin's Bow with 'Sets Evasive' (90% dodge, forever!!!!). It actually goes over 100% dodge in the stats if you have more on armor lol. My red prince doesn't take melee damage. Ever.

Sadha can be found in Driftwood at X:575 Y:450.

Was the literal last place I looked as I was noticed a small black splotch on my map before moving on.

With the skill Flaming Crescendo, it is possible to get the achievement for killing Sadha with the Red prince. Just start a conversation with her, but don't exit it and stack the debuffs on her, it took around 12 for me to one shot her.

red prince is high noble. scholar personality doesn't suit with with him. he actually very good character better than ifan. ngl ifan story is simple. with red prince you know more than kid ifan story / lohse.

the only thing that pissed me off about the red prince storyline is that there are 2 steam achievements tied to it and the triggers are set such that you have to do 2 full playthroughs with red prince to get both achievements. because one achievement "kill sadha" doesn't trigger by just "killing sadha", it requires you to go through a whole complicated set of steps involving not sleeping with her the first time you meet her in act 2 and then choosing specific dialogue options when you find her again in act 4

If you have 2 magic units like me, equip tornado to each of them. When the battle starts, focus on clearing those cursed surface before taking them down and they won't respawn. Also, to clear the patch of necrofire in wall, jump into the sceond room where the necrofire is and cast the tornado facing the direction of the door from the inside. The revenant won't respawn anymore this way.

Spoilers for the ending scene I tried all the solutions about the divinity and The Red Prince never used dragons in any ending for war, so everyrhing ended peacefully, not with burning all Rivellon to the ground, maybe it's because I was a lizer and all other races were just *****ed up (killed dwarfs, exploded the tree on nameless isle etc.) ??

SPOILERS RELATED TO RED PRINCE'S STORY-LINE QUEST WARNING WARING AAAAHHHHHHHH SPOILERS WARNING

Am I the only one who thinks its awful we can't convince The Red Prince (As a Companion, Not Origin) that the Shadow Prince is right and the Dragons shouldn't be hatched? I am on my first playthrough and I just killed the Red Prince with my main Origin Beast run because I believe The Shadow Prince on this one. If these two have the ability to create Dragons, I believe they were clearly Dragons before and there is a reason that was taken from them. Regardless of the who, ifs, ands buts, or anything honestly I just believe they shouldn't be restored as Dragons. It will destroy the balance somewhere along the lines. Maybe one day they decide, eh we don't like Dwarves anymore or we want their mineral mining operations. Lets kill them. Or perhaps the Humans simply foresee this possibility and try to take a preemptive strike and attack?

I'm going to go recruit a mercenary now. I really hope they can take full use of the mirror like companions so I can basically rebuild my Conjure/Hydro Red Prince.

We didn't side with Alexander nor with the Black ring... does that mean we can't continue the red prince quest?

Is there no way to make him only love your character ? Was rather sad to find out he still sticks with the princess even after you lay with him in bed after act3. I saved beforehand and thinking of going with Ifan or Sebile now instead, as they both trully only love and want you and no one else.

My main character died inside the horror dream where malady, alexandar and vindego are. i completed the quest, returned to reality with my summon baby skill, but the main character is still dead inside the dream. tried using pyramids, but got a "you cant teleport into a closed area". How do i move the main character to reality?

Yep, I have the issue with the War owl conversation. Have one of your party members talk to Malady (to keep her busy) and one other party member attack Red Prince. Then just flee and come back to him, he will be available again.
