Ruby is a Gem in Diablo 4. Ruby can only be slotted into Equipment with available sockets, and the bonus it provides depends on the type of gear they are placed into, granting different effects when applied to Weapons, Armor, or Jewelry. Diablo 4 Gems can be crafted at The Jeweler, except for Horadric Gems and Flawless Horadric Gems that can be created using The Horadric Cube.  In Lord of Hatred, Gems become a much more important part of character building because weapon sockets now grant multiplicative damage bonuses tied to specific damage types.

Diablo 4 Ruby Effects

Diablo 4 Ruby grants the following benefits depending on the type of gear it is socketed into:

  • To Weapons: x18% Fire and Holy Damage Multiplier
  • To Armor: +30 Strength
  • To Jewelry: +450 Fire Resistance

How to Get Ruby in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred

In Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Gem crafting is performed at The Jeweler. Players unlock The Jeweler through the priority quest that introduces Kratia in Kyovashad.

Once The Jeweler is available, Gem Fragments and gold can be used to craft higher-quality Gems. Gem Fragments are obtained as drops while playing, including from enemies, world content, and reward caches.

Higher-quality Gems require more fragments, with Grand Gems also requiring Forgotten Souls

To craft Ruby players need the following Materials:

Quick question, I have three chipped rubies, but it won't let me upgrade it to a ruby. Am i missing something, or do i need to be farther in the campaign? This information would be a huge help, plus could help to upgrade the wiki.
