An Untimely End Avowed Quest Walkthrough
After waking up in Liviana's Clinic, make your way to the Ambassador's office and speak with Ambassador Falscen Hylgard. He is shocked to see you alive and well, you give him the Emperor's missive and tell him that you have been sent to investigate the Dreamscourge. The Ambassador also brings up the person who tried to kill you, Kai mentions that he knows someone named Marius, who can help with finding out who it is. After speaking to the Ambassador, head to his book of shelves behind him and pick up Aedyran Dialects, and the Letter to the Inquisitor and then make your way to find the Watcher.

The Watcher is located at The Rise, slightly northwest of the Watcher's Mirror. Follow the quest marker through the archway, straight ahead is the quest progression while turning into the right area has loot.

For now, get the loot. At the end of the cliff, you can pick up Skaenbone, turn left into a little cave to find a backpack that contains some Copper Skeyt, Amethyst, Pelt, and a Common Wand. Head back to the fork and continue up the straight path to reach another archway.

Turning right is the quest progression, turn left to encounter some Black bears. Take them out and loot their bodies, this area also has a Wayfarer's Ring, and a Turquoise on a body on the right. Turn around and continue to the quest progression route to reach the third archway and a wooden ledge, follow the ledge to the fourth archway. On the left side of the path, you can pick up some Paradisan Ladders. Cross the bridge and up the path to Runyd's House. Head inside and speak to Runyd.
Runyd questions why you seek her help, you can choose any of the options and Runyd will ask you to repeat some sentences after her, to which you get interrupted by the voice in the middle of it. Runyd feels the presence of the voice and also sees that your soul is healthy for someone who has died and came back to life. She is unsure how you came to be unmarked by death.
Make your way to the Grinning Balarok in Paradis and you will hear people loudly talking to and taunting a dwarf, that dwarf is Marious, approach them and speak with Marius. Kai says he is the best tracker he knows, you continue to watch Marius and the other two men argue. You can choose to engage in a fight with the men or talk it out with them.

Once the two walk away, speak with Marius. You tell him about the incident and he will have to check the crime scene and find their tracks, after speaking to him, he joins your party as your companion. To take Marius to the crime scene, you have to go up the tower where the quest tracker points to. You will end up at a balcony overlooking the entrance of the town, and a Flask of Poison on the rails.

Interact with the Flask of Poison and speak with Marius, he says it smells familiar but is unsure what it is and suggests to see the apothecary to learn more. Follow the quest marker to the Apothecary located in a back alley to find that there are some men threatening the apothecary, approach them to speak with them. The Apothecary begs for your help while the men insist you just leave, you can learn about the situation and end up in a fight with the men. You will need to take out the men but once you have done so, Thalla the Taskmaster will appear and you will need to defeat him.
Speak with Grysca the apothecary and show him the poison flask, he tells you that the oil is distilled from Saint Atoray, which is a berry native to the Living Lands. He is unwilling to tell you who he sold it to but he does tell you more about the berry and that it's used in religious rituals, Marius suggests visiting the Temple of Ondra to take a look, while Kai suggests seeking Claviger Eamund in his estate for more information.
After speaking with Grysca, it will be nighttime and Thalla's men will be on the lookout for you, so you will need to sneak around and not be seen or attack them when encountered. However, Kai will suggest purchasing better equipment to be well prepared. Once you are ready, make your way to the Administration District Beacon and head up the large stairs and through the double doors to travel to Paradis Hightown.

Both the Temple and Eamund's estate are located in the far end of Northern Paradis. This walkthrough will show the outcome of choosing the investigate the Temple of Ondra instead of Eamund's estate. Head into the Temple of Ondra, on one of the seats on the right, you can pick up The Sea and Her Love, and on a seat on the left, you can pick up a Transcript of a Sermon. When you're ready, speak with Elowe. You can ask her about suspicious activity, the more you suspect her of being part of something shady, the more she will be less willing to give you information. You can try to convince her that you can be trusted. Choose the dialogue option "Ask Sapiento. I want to help the Living Lands, even to the detriment of outsiders." to convince her to give you information.
Elowe admits she is with the resistance, a group who defy the Aedyran's empire and protect their way of life. Once she has given you more information, you can ask her questions about the resistance. Once the conversation is done, she will give you the Cistern Key. It unlocks the door on the left side of the room, inside you can pick up an Essence Potion on the shelf behind the door. Further in the room, you can pick up the Smuggler Report and some Grenades laying on a box on the right. Head down the stairs and enter the Cistern.
Follow the quest marker down the stairs and into the open sewage area, on the left side of the large drain, you can pick up an Electric Lily Seed, on the right, you can break the box and pick up a Health Potion.

Follow the quest marker in the left side of the room, the next room has a few Paradisan Rebels. You can use long-range attacks to take them out. On the right corner of the room before the rebel, you can pick up the Ygwulf's Log I, and a lockbox that contains some Copper Skeyt, and Iron Chunk. In the upper right corner, you can pick up Eye of Rymrgand. There is a set of tall double doors that require the Lower Cistern Key to unlock. Head to the upper left corner where the quest marker is and break the breakable wall and crawl under the gate.
This room has pressure plates on the ground, so you will need to carefully walk around it. In the far left corner of the room, there is a lever that you can interact with to disable the pressure plates and a chest in the far right corner that contains some Copper Skeyt and Pelt. There is a short tunnel at the far right corner with cobwebs at the end that you will need to burn down. The next room contains several Spider enemies. After taking out the enemies in the room, head to the lower left corner and burn down the cobwebs that is blocking the tunnel.
This tunnel has some loot you can pick up, such as burning the spider egg in the middle once you enter has a hidden Essence Potion. Further into the tunnel, you can pick up Shadow Grass below a large web structure. If you hope through the web, you can pick up a Common Sword. Further into the tunnel, you will encounter several crawler enemies.

The end of the tunnel splits into two paths, the left one progresses the quest, while the right one has loot that you can get. For now, head right. At the end of the path, there is a wall you can break with a grenade. Head through the hole in the wall to the new room, on the left side, you can pick up Paradisan Ladder, up the slope, you can break the boxes and crouch underneath to get through to find a body that has some Copper Skeyt, Pelt, Spirit Residue, a Common Dagger, and a Skarnite Prayer. In the far corner of the room, you can pick up a Health Potion, an Essence Potion, and a backpack that contains a few Silver Fenning, Pelt, Iron Chunk, and Primal Wind. On the right side of the room, there is a cobweb that can be burned down to reveal a large chest that can be unlocked with a lockpick, the chest contains some Silver Fenning, a few Golden Scelling, Agate, Paradisan Ladder, Bear Claw, Pelt, and a Common Mail Hauberk.
Return to the fork in the path and head to the left side, you can pick up a Common Grimoire of Embers on a body, and a Health Potion by the broken metal gate. Crouch under the gate to go through, the short tunnel is waterlogged and there is a ledge at the end that you can't reach. You will need to use your ice projectiles to freeze the water to use as a platform to hop onto the ledge.
Follow the quest marker to the right, and swim through the pond to reach the right corner to pick up some Copper Skeyt, Pelt, Iron Chunk, and Spirit Residue on a skeleton. Swim back and use your freeze to freeze the surface of the water by the ledge and head up to pick up the Lower Cistern Key. Continue making your way up and crouch through the tunnel. Head right to find a lockbox that contains some Copper Skeyt, a Common Wand, Iron Chunk, and Pelt. Head back and continue forward across the bridge, to find a locked gate that can be unlocked with the Lower Cistern key that you have picked up earlier. Or you can head back to the tall double doors in the first room and use the key there. This walkthrough will show the outcome if you chose to go through the double doors.
Once you have made it through the double doors, you will reach a room with swinging blades with a Paradisan Rebel at the end of the room. Slowly make your way through the blades and use a long-ranged attack to attack the enemy. Once they have been taken out, interact with the lever to disarm the blades to help your party get through. Head through the door on the left to reach a warehouse with two enemies, take them out and loot the room. Directly on the right, you will find a bowl of Wild Mushroom Stew, a Common Axe, a chest that can be unlocked with a lockpick that contains Agate, Paradisan Ladder, Common Dagger, Pelt, Iron Chunk, and Spirit Residue. On the table, you can pick up the Essence Potion. At the end of the room, there are wooden slopes and ledges that you can jump onto to reach the top of the warehouse shelves to find a chest that contains some Copper Skeyt and Durable Greaves. Head through the door to reach the next room.
In the next room, there will be an enemy on the top of the stairs, one at the far corner of the room, and one between the columns. Take out the enemies and ake your way up the stairs and hop up the ledges, to reach the tunnel.

Head into the next room, there will be enemies patrolling on the left and the right side. Take them out and loot the chest in the right corner that contains some Copper Skeyt and Thick Gloves, behind the chest, you can drop down onto a wooden ledge that has a backpack that contains some Silver Fenning, Pelt, Softwood Branch, and Vessel Flesh. Head back up and into the next hallway to the next room.
In the next room, you will need to cross the wooden planks to the next door. Before that, once you enter this room, walk towards the end and turn to the right to find a lockbox and an Essence Potion on a lower ledge that you would need to drop down to. The lockbox contains some Copper Skeyt and Pelt. Climb back up and carefully jump onto the narrow ledge, walk to the end and hop back onto the other side.

You will find an Essence Potion and a chest that contains some Silver Fenning, a Common Great Sword, Pelt, and Softwood Branch. Carefully make your way back onto the main platform, and hop onto the other side. There is a box that has Ygwulf's Log IV that you can pick up, and carefully walk across the plank to the next room. Walk through the room to reach the stairs, in front of the stairs you can pick up Magran's Fury and some Copper Skeyt.
Head up the stairs to reach a door, open it to watch a brief cutscene. Speak with Ygwulf, he admits that he tried to kill you and wishes to explain himself. You learn that he tried to kill you in hopes of stopping Aedyr from conquering the land, in the end he gives you an Adra and some Copper Skeyt, and the Ygwulf's Key.
After speaking with Ygwulf, make your way back to the Ambassador and report back to him. You will have to tell him about your encounter with Ygwulf and your decision to let him go, you will have to explain to him why you chose to do so. Inquisitor Lodwyn walks in to speak with the Ambassador, who seems to not be pleased with the current situation of the assassin and the dreamscourge. After speaking with Lodwyn, you will speak with Ambassador Hylgard. He believes that there will be problems with Inquisitor Lodwyn.
