The Epic Games Store has officially announced its free games for July 2026: OTXO and Sol Cesto. Neither title has previously been offered free to Epic Games Store users, and both will be available to claim until early August 2026.
Over the seven-day period starting July 16, Epic was giving away P.T.-inspired horror game Luto and nostalgic RPG Echo Generation: Midnight Edition. That promotion has now officially ended on July 23, having been replaced by one new freebie.
Epic Games Store Announces Nearly $30 Worth of Freebies for July 30
As soon as Epic's July 23 giveaway kicked off, the company also revealed the lineup for its next promotion, which will center on Sol Cesto and OTXO. The two will be available to claim for exactly seven days, between July 30 and August 6, beginning and ending at 8 a.m. PDT / 11 a.m. EDT / 5 p.m. CET. The upcoming giveaway is valued at $28.98, based on OTXO and Sol Cesto's regular retail prices on the Epic Games Store.

A Brief Introduction to OTXO, Epic's Upcoming Freebie
Originally released in 2023, OTXO is a top-down action roguelite developed by Lateralis Heavy Industries, the independent label of American developer, artist, and composer Nathan "Nate" Haddock. Haddock also created the one-bit Metroidvania Dogworld and composed OTXO's electronic soundtrack, making the game largely a solo project. The game follows an unnamed amnesiac who awakens outside a strange mansion after donning a mysterious mask. With his partner missing inside, he must fight through the building and uncover its supernatural secrets. Its top-down perspective and violent combat evoke Hotline Miami, but the roguelite progression and stark black-and-white visuals give OTXO a distinct identity.
Sol Cesto Explained
Sol Cesto is an award-winning tactical roguelite made by a trio of French indie developers and first released in April 2026 following 13 months' worth of early access. Its story unfolds in a subterranean world deprived of sunlight for ages. Players choose one of seven heroes and descend through five biomes in search of the missing sun, all the while encountering monsters, traps, merchants, treasure, and other inhabitants. Sol Cesto turns movement into a probability management challenge. Encounters take place on a four-by-four grid, but players choose a row rather than a specific tile, then land randomly on an enemy, reward, healing space, or trap.
While waiting for the Sol Cesto and OTXO giveaway, Epic Games Store users can claim Foretales, a narrative-driven card game built around meaningful story choices and nonviolent problem-solving. Foretales is the 54th game Epic has given away in 2026. The Fortnite maker has also offered four DLC packs during that period, including the Epic Anniversary Tachibana Pack for World of Warships and the Starter Edition of the free-to-play PvPvE extraction shooter Stalcraft: X.
