Tyler Romasco posted thisI am deeply saddened by the passing of our CEO, John Gentry. Like so many others, this loss is deeply personal. It is hard to fully express what he meant to me and to OpenX, but I wanted to share a story that reflects the kind of leader and person he was: I was never supposed to work at OpenX. Six and a half years ago, I told the hiring manager I would not be joining and that I planned to take a job at a large agency. Before I did, she said our President (at the time) wanted to speak with me. That was the first time I talked to JG. We connected almost immediately. We talked about our pasts, our families, and a shared love for the outdoors. He spent two hours on the phone with me, time that could have been spent elsewhere. He talked a bit about OpenX, but mostly he focused on my career journey and the values he believed made a company successful. He talked about hard work, integrity, making the hard decision that is right for the business, staying humble, and always executing with humanity. He talked about endless curiosity. Going deep. Loving the tech. Working the problem. He said I would have the opportunity to build something and to learn a business at every level with no ceiling or limits. What I did not know at the time was that it would be one of the most important career and life conversations I would ever have. Up to that point, I had chosen roles based on the company, the trajectory, and the strategy. With OpenX, I chose JG, and I chose the people. My values aligned with his, and it simply felt right. As CEO, he would go on to become my boss, my mentor, and most importantly, my friend. Even though he is gone, his impact lives on. I see him every day in the people around me at OpenX. His values are ingrained in the culture and the fabric of who we are. I see him in my fellow executives, our leadership team, and across the entire company because we have held true to what JG believed in and championed. It is because of him that we have been so successful as a business. But even more importantly, it is because of him that I love the people I work with and why my job is so fun. JG, thank you for everything you gave us.

Tyler Romasco shared thisI'm thrilled to officially welcome Akhil Savani as Vice President of Publisher Development and celebrate Rebecca Bonell Woolcott's well-deserved promotion to Regional Vice President of Publisher Development, The Americas! These leadership moves reinforce our commitment to expanding publisher success and helping driving meaningful monetization across formats, channels, and regions. At a time when publishers are facing critical challenges, this commitment is more important than ever. Akhil's and Rebecca's leadership will be key as we continue investing in supply infrastructure, publisher relationships, and innovative solutions that reinforce OpenX's position as strategic partners to the world's leading publishers. https://lnkd.in/eisYqnhVOpenX Increases Investment in Supply Infrastructure and Publisher Development PersonnelOpenX Increases Investment in Supply Infrastructure and Publisher Development Personnel

Tyler Romasco shared thisAppreciate being included in Ad Age's 2026 outlook. As the industry pushes forward, the conversation has to move beyond scale as the primary growth lever. Real performance comes from intentional curation, direct supply paths, and rigorous media quality standards, not just more impressions moving through increasingly complex pipes. Practices like multi-hop reselling and request duplication only erode trust, and that's not the standard the industry should accept in 2026. At OpenX, we’re focused on reducing complexity, increasing transparency, and delivering better outcomes for buyers and publishers alike.Tyler Romasco shared thisSpotted in Ad Age's 2026 outlook: Tyler Romasco on why success this year won’t come from scale alone. Tyler Romasco shared thisBigger isn't always better: Better is better. The open web doesn’t need more scale, it needs higher standards. The truth is, not all supply is created equal. As we get into 2026, those who build with intention, prioritizing high-value opportunities that align with brand values, and that actually perform, will succeed. Thanks to ExchangeWire for including my 2026 predictions on the future of the open web. https://lnkd.in/evKVDXbz

Tyler Romasco shared thisThrilled, humbled, and grateful. #OpenX announced several key executive leadership promotions today, and I couldn’t be more honored to be named alongside Matt Sattel as President and Joel Meyer as CTO. I’m incredibly excited to share that I’ve been promoted to Executive Vice President of Demand Platform and Publisher Partnerships. This expanded role comes at an amazing time. OpenX has achieved twelve consecutive quarters of year-over-year growth, a true testament to our team’s dedication to quality, innovation, and doing things the right way. In this position, I’ll continue to lead our Publisher teams while also overseeing DSP, Strategic Partnerships, and Solutions & Technical Operations, streamlining how we engage with both our buy-side and sell-side partners and continue delivering exceptional value. I’m especially excited to work more closely with Danner Close, Brian Chisholm, and Nate Fishler, whose leadership and expertise will be instrumental as we continue to grow and innovate together. I’m deeply grateful to John Gentry and Matt Sattel for their trust, mentorship, and leadership. Their vision for OpenX continues to foster an environment where talent thrives and innovation flourishes. Here’s to continuing to raise the bar on quality standards, expanding our leadership in data and identity, and shaping the future of digital advertising together. Exciting things ahead! https://bit.ly/3XeRiktOpenX Promotes Key Leaders To Drive Continued Momentum Following Twelve Consecutive Quarters of Year-Over-Year GrowthOpenX Promotes Key Leaders To Drive Continued Momentum Following Twelve Consecutive Quarters of Year-Over-Year Growth

Tyler Romasco shared thisCome join our team! We’re hiring for an RVP of Account Management in EMEA, a critical leadership role reporting to Mitchell Greenway, one of the best in the business. It’s a fantastic opportunity to help lead our publisher strategy and growth across the region.Tyler Romasco shared thisVery excited to announce this role! We’ve built one of the most advanced and trusted ad exchanges in the world, designed to deliver transparency, efficiency, and value for both publishers and advertisers. But what truly sets OpenX apart is our people: thoughtful, creative executors who combine deep technical expertise with a genuine passion for helping partners grow. We’re now looking for a Regional Vice President of Publisher Development, EMEA, a senior leader ready to make a lasting impact. This is not a maintenance role. It’s a growth and transformation role leading a talented team across EMEA, driving our publisher strategy, expanding our omnichannel supply footprint, and building the next wave of innovation across CTV, retail media, and AI-driven platforms. The ideal candidate is someone who blends strategic and commercial acumen with empathy and execution, someone who understands how to build strong publisher relationships, develop exceptional teams, and influence the broader industry conversation on transparency, quality, and innovation in programmatic. If you’re passionate about redefining what “premium” means in digital advertising and want to lead within a company that’s serious about doing things the right way, we’d love to hear from you. #OpenX #Leadership #AdTech #Programmatic #DigitalMedia #CTV #AI #PublisherDevelopment

Tyler Romasco shared thisMatt Sattel, speaks for all of us when he says SSPs aren’t relics. We’re evolving. This has never been more true than in every publisher and buyer conversation I’m having at #AdWeek. The good SSPs have never been middlemen, we’ve been partners and advocates. And that hasn’t changed. At #OpenX, we’ve always believed publishers matter. Helping them compete, grow, and thrive has been part of our DNA from the start, and it still drives everything we do. https://bit.ly/46ECWzs

Tyler Romasco shared thisLast week I was on PTO and had the chance to hike from Fira to Oia in Santorini. It was one of those unforgettable experiences where the views make you stop in your tracks. It also happened to fall on OpenX’s #OffTheChartsDay, a company wide day off to celebrate an incredible first half of the year and to recognize the amazing effort of our teams. Coming back from vacation can sometimes bring a bit of sadness or anxiety, but when I sat back down at my computer yesterday I felt something else entirely: recharged excitement. That feeling is tied directly to the people I get to work with. At OpenX, I’m surrounded by colleagues who are smart, driven, and collaborative. People who push each other to achieve more while creating an environment you genuinely want to be a part of. Culture isn’t just words on a slide, it’s the feeling you carry when you come back from time away. For me, that’s gratitude and energy. I couldn’t be more proud of what we’ve accomplished so far this year, and even more proud of the team behind it. Here’s to keeping things off the charts in the months ahead.

Tyler Romasco liked thisTyler Romasco liked thisWe came, we laughed, we sang karaoke… and a few of us battled 2+ hour TSA lines and some serious sunburn along the way. Last week, we brought our global commercial team together in San Juan. A few days to connect about where OpenX is heading and how/what we’re building. What stood out the most was the clarity and alignment that came from bringing global teams together to connect on our priorities, discuss how we show up for our clients and partners, and learn from each other as we grow. It also reinforced something important. While we’ve hit meaningful milestones, this next phase requires us to work differently. I could feel a real shift toward clearer ownership, faster decision-making, and a more streamlined way of operating and communicating. Since our last offsite, 178 people have joined OpenX. We’re a different company than we were at the same time last year, and I’m energized by how quickly this team came together under a shared approach and clear objectives. Outside of strategic conversations, we had some fun and gave back. Shoutout to our team for cleaning up a local beach, and a special thank you to those who participated in the karaoke competition, including our amazing clients. My team [N’SYNC obviously] was ROBBED of victory by Stacy Bohrer and Brooke Abney’s rendition of “Pink Pony Club”. Huge thank you to Tyler Romasco, Stacy Bohrer, Amanda Forrester, Sydney Held, John Nguyen, Casey Peros, CMP, and the broader commercial team for making this happen, and to our clients John Rogers, Tyler DeNicola, Emma Rogers, Brooke Abney, Erin Mulrooney, and Kaitlyn Mcinnis for taking time out of their busy schedules to be with us in PR.

Tyler Romasco liked thisTyler Romasco liked thisA data point jumped out to me yesterday at the Jounce Media SPO Summit that helps illustrates why supply path discussions matter while also supporting the reason media buyers are moving towards default off vs. default on supply strategies: (1) Jounce data measures 826,768,988 total supply paths across web, ctv and app (2) only 7% of total supply paths are identified by Jounce as either bellwether or premium (3) Jounce's 100 bellwether portfolios already capture 70% of DSP spend. The scale is enormous, the spend is concentrated and I suspect, only continuing to tighten.

Advanced measurement is moving from a “nice to have” to a requirement for brands that want to prove how marketing drives real business outcomes.✅ Nowhere is this more visible than in Retail Media Networks. RMNs like Instacart give brands access to closed-loop performance data tied to actual purchases. That data is powerful, but it also raises an important question for marketing leaders: How do we validate results beyond platform-reported metrics and understand true incremental impact? This is why third-party measurement is becoming a critical part of the RMN conversation. Circana has emerged as a leading independent measurement partner for retail media performance, including Instacart. By combining retailer point-of-sale data with broader market and category intelligence, Circana helps brands understand not just what sold, but what actually changed because of advertising. https://lnkd.in/gp4CghWf For food and beverage brands, this matters because RMN performance rarely exists in isolation. Retail media influences household penetration, repeat rates, brand switching, and category growth, not just attributed sales within a single platform. Third-party measurement helps separate signal from noise by providing a consistent view across retailers, channels, and time. The broader industry trend is clear. As RMN budgets grow, marketers are being asked to answer harder questions around incrementality, brand impact, and long-term growth. Platform dashboards alone are no longer enough. At Effective, we see advanced media performance reporting as a layered system. Platform data shows what happened. Third-party measurement helps explain why it happened and whether it was truly incremental. Together, they create a clearer connection between media investment and business results. This is how performance reporting evolves from tracking activity to proving impact. Instacart is the first U.S. retail media network to integrate its grocery selection with The Trade Desk platform for streamlined self-service use cases, enabling approved advertisers and agencies to build first-party custom audiences based on specific product criteria for programmatic campaigns. Read James Hercher’s latest in AdExchanger, “Alphabet Can Outgrow Everything Else, But Can It Outgrow Ads?” My immediate thought: would Judge Mehta still hang his hat on AI as meaningful competitive pressure today? In the Google antitrust ruling, Judge Mehta expressly cited increased search competition as a reason behind his chosen remedy. Today, hearing a lot of "Google has already won." And with this article, AI doesn’t look like an external disruptor so much as something being folded into the same ad-driven ecosystem. Check it out: https://lnkd.in/eRw2ayCv

We’re excited to be one of the very first SSP's to enable CAPI with LiveRamp - and for multiple reasons. First, it represents further expansion of our already deep partnership with LiveRamp. In addition to CAPI, we are integrated with LiveRamp Connect and the LiveRamp Data Store, RampID's help power our identity graph, we support ATS across our global footprint. Buyers can send audiences from LiveRamp directly to our curation platform, OpenXSelect for easy supply side activation. We see more 202 million active RampIDs across our exchange each month - including CTV. I could go on... Second, it demonstrates how OpenX is accelerating the move towards closed loop measurement and outcomes based buying for all of programmatic. Our people based infrastructure allows for closed loop measurement with LiveRamp's CAPI and directly with marketers and retailers. Closed loop measurement can be as simple to access as activating a deal id. Lastly, it's a great example of what we mean when we say we have the most advanced and flexible #curation platform on the market. OpenXSelect is built on a fundamentally different and stronger foundation which allows us to develop more sophisticated solutions on top. It's not just access to the bidstream, it's advanced toolsets that provide Agencies, Publishers, Retailers, Data owners and Curation Houses with unique capabilities to drive better results. Let's connect at Cannes if you want to learn more. Thanks to Michele Kristie, Andrew Dryden, Travis Clinger, Stephen J. Fugedy and team for your partnership.

Great post from Nate Carter: "Marketers are demanding to know how data is sourced, how it’s validated and whether it’s grounded in real-world signals rather than anonymous digital exhaust. Data providers that can clearly document their inputs and processes will rise in influence; those that can’t will fade into the background noise of the open web." #datamarketing, #b2bdata, #digitaladvertising, #AI

✅🖥️ Adexchanger (5/1): “Thursday marked the launch of audience measurement provider Nielsen’s new report, which will serve as an extension of its existing Gauge insights. According to the inaugural report, streaming TV makes up just over 42% of all ad-supported TV, while broadcast and cable make up under 29%. When compared against Nielsen’s current Gauge insights, this means that traditional TV makes up 56% of ad-supported viewing even though it only represents 44% of overall viewership. But developing the technology and reporting capabilities took a lot of work over the past nine months, specifically with regard to streaming. Ideally, Nielsen will eventually be able to break down ad-supported versus non-ad-supported viewership on a platform-by-platform basis. But not yet, mostly out of respect for Nielsen’s clients – and certainly not right before TV upfronts season. Advertisers that use Nielsen Ad Intel will now be able to track CTV spend across 41 different streaming platforms representing 95% of the US market, with global expansion soon to come.” ⬇️ #possible #newfronts #upfronts #ctv #ott #avod https://lnkd.in/eeHnFnux
